  1. Miller is playing terrible right now, but I think it's unfair to say Biron plays better than Miller. When Miller is on, he is better. Biron and Miller each gave up 4 goals on 34 shots in their last games. Maybe Biron will change my mind tomorrow night, but I don't feel comfortable going into the playoffs with him in net. Not that I exactly feel comfortable with Miller in there right now either.
  2. I like the sound of that. That might even make Rabbit happy!
  3. Ruff said he hasn't decided on the starter for tonight's game yet in the morning press conference. Since I even think they should start Marty...it's gotta be a no brainer!
  4. I agree Biron earned the start Wednesday. Hopefully it fires Miller up. Go with Biron Wednesday, and if he plays a strong game give him the other Ottawa start. I'd let Miller go against Philly. That way everyone is well rested for their starts.
  5. Tonight we see what this team is really made of. If they bounce back strong, I will remain somewhat confident going into the playoffs. If they continue to struggle...I might join the rest of you and be really worried about a 4 and out.
  6. Ok, watched the game tonight. Although the last period I watched on FF (Thank you Tivo). Everyone else pretty much said everything that needs to be said. I can't find anything I liked about that game at all (Except for the fact that it's over). I'm with Dave though, start Miller again on Monday. He needs to shut them down Monday. I still think that judging by how things went back in December, if he gets in the right mindset, 1 game can get him going back on track. They still have 8 games to turn this around. For those of you that don't think it can get turned around in one game...they went from not being able to lose to not being able to play in one game...so the opposite could happen. Maybe I'm being too optimistic, but after 74 games, I am not ready to give up on this team yet.
  7. Was that Sabres fan in a black Briere jersey? If so, that was me, haha! See my above post as to why.
  8. Alright, I went to the game, minus Biron they played pretty good. Just couldn't capitalize. You think you dislike the Devils brand of hockey? Ha, wait until you get a load of their fans. I've met some dumb people in my life, but the guys in my row were definately right up there. They started by saying we should go home by taking 90 North. Which 5 minutes after I pointed out that 90 doesn't go North South, they decided I should take it West. Then when they were talking about how bad the Sabres were, I asked them where the Devils were in the standings. My absolute favorite though was that they were bragging how great Brodeur is, and I said actually Miller is having a better year despite his slump. They asked what I meant, and I pointed out he had better stats. They didn't believe me. The guy was like "Which ones." So then the 20 year old with the sign that looked like a 12 year old made it started saying "check the stats," in response to anything anyone said. So apparently when talking about a player's year stats should not be taken into consideration. I'll just go with Devil fan logic that Brodeur is the best because he's on the Devils. (Disclaimer...I am not in any way saying Miller is better than Brodeur, however, he is having a better year). Oh, and according to the genius in my row the Sabres are in 8th in the conference. So that about sums up my game experience...Oh yeah, and apparently the Devils can beat Ottawa in the playoffs because they beat them in a shootout the other night without Hasek or Chara.
  9. I'm going to the game with a Devils fan, so I think we need a good "Let's Go Buffalo" coming from 234.
  10. Let's score early. Make them try to skate with us instead of letting them trap.
  11. Big chance to prove the streak is over by beating a team we have struggled a little bit with this year.
  12. If you listen to Lindy Ruff's morning Press Conference, it sounds like Connolly could be back in the lineup tonight.
  13. Any word on who is starting in goal tonight? I would go with Biron tonight and Miller tomorrow. I would much prefer that to Miller tonight and Biron tomorrow...and I don't want to see either start both.
  14. I think he is listed as questionable. I would be interested why the above poster thinks that Biron is going to start. It's a 4 point game tonight. Biron looked horrible in his last start, and if Miller got both starts in a back to back, there is no reason he shouldn't start tonight. Miller is our starting goaltender. If there is any game that he definately should start...it's tonight. Go with Biron on Wednesday against the Bruins, and Miller on Thursday.
  15. Ok, I've been out of town and missed the past 2 games...but just a few random thoughts. 1. Why are we talking about a playoff exit? 5 games ago we were talking about going deep into the playoffs. It is going to turn around. As I (and others) have said before. Get this slump out of the way now, so we can go into the playoffs ready to roll. 2. Miller vs. Biron. While Biron should have started last night, does anyone honestly think that a goalie controversey is what we really need right now? As to the person who posted earlier that Biron always comes up big in big games...his playoff record is currently 0-0, and judging how he comes up in big game situations (go back to my posts from his hot streak in December), I am not comfortable with him in there in the playoffs. Besides, with all things even, Miller is the more talented goaltender. So we have to figure out what to do to get him playing his best again. He is the type of player who likes to work his way out of a slump. So let him do it. Another thing to keep in mind for those of you aching to see Marty in net. He let 5 goals in against Atlanta on 23 shots (I think, too lazy to look it up right now). He should have had most of those...so I don't think he's exactly on top of his game right now either. 3. The Slump. The team needs one big game to pull themselves out of this slump. What more could you ask for than Monday. They are playing against the Rangers. 4 point game against a team that has struggled to keep up with them all year, and of course I don't think I need to mention Kasparaitis. I think the team is going to come out fired up and pull off a big win, and get ready for the playoff push.
  16. I think it's almost like putting a forward on the point on the PP...the offensive reward is worth the defensive risk. Just don't put them on the ice with Campbell. And I definately like Briere and Novotny playing together. They looked pretty good last game.
  17. I will have to miss this one. I will be on a plane during the game. I think it's worth pointing out that the Sabres are 1-0 when I am on a plane during the game!
  18. I don't know how they are doing it, but the officials are trying to call everything and missing half of it, ha.
  19. I must have missed the second thing. While I haven't given up, and am still watching the game, I must admit, I am not giving it anywhere near my full attention.
