Their revenue has increased since the NY Times bought it, though it still loses money. That means high-priced "talent" has to go. If they get rid of deadwood like Tim Graham, that would be an improvement -- both in their coverage and their bottom line.

Does that mean no more links to stories I can't read?
😂
Maybe if you subscribed you could have saved a few jobs. And read some decent stories.

There is only 1 Bocces dude, it's on Bailey.
My wife and I used to order from Bocces on Bailey whenever we visited WNY. The last time my wife and I ordered Bocces we were disappointed. It was about four years ago, before my father-in-law died.

A few years ago I got a good CTB beef on weck at a Noco convenience store in Buffalo. The horseradish especially was an experience. I had to be in town today and got another one (different Noco). Huge disappointment. The roll was small and somewhat pale. The beef was grisly. The horseradish dull.
I have to come back in a month. Any suggestions? There's nothing quite like a good beef on kummelweck.
You buy food at a NOCO store?

Hasn't been a head coach since 2012. Penguins Assistant. Made it to the conference finals once as a head coach but seems lose in the first round A LOT.
As opposed to the past four Sabres head coaches?

First five games last season? 1-4
First five games this season? 1-4
Gotta love their consistency.

How is it classless? I've seen three or four people use that word. No clue how that jump could be made, but I would like to hear an argument.
If Murray didn't want Nolan, he should have fired him when he became GM. Instead he left Nolan responsible for a big bag of stinking dog and now fired Nolan saying he didn't they were a 30th place team when everyone who pays attention to hockey knows that's exactly what Murray wanted.
-
A totally classless move. And not the last classless move from that dick Murray, I'm sure.

Ian McEwan's "Sweet Tooth." Not bad. Not one of his best, but not bad.

Just finished "The Typewriter Is Holy: The Complete, Uncensored History of the Beat Generation "
Now I'm working on, "The War of 1812" by J.C.A. Stagg.
Next up: "Why I Am a Catholic", by Gary Wills

The War of 1812 on the Niagara Frontier, by Louis J. Babcock. Published in 1927 by the Buffalo Historical Society. The writing is incredibly dull and dry, but that'smost likely because it is written by an academic. Otherwise, it's a very detailed look at a critical theater of a war that most of us Americans don't know much about.

Ugh....Sabredance....yawn! Just because it has a name recognition factor does not mean it excites people....fine during intermissions or commercial breaks, but not when you're trying to set a tone and get players and fans adrenaline going. Rock & Roll works best here.
Hmmm. If a team needs to play a song to get players' adrenaline going, then maybe that team needs difference players. That said, did you listen to that version of Sabredance?
-
SABRE DANCE! NOTHING ELSE! We want this team to to have recognizable traditions? This would be one of the top priorities! It's classic! It has our team's name in it! Find a modern version with guitars if you have to!
Totally agreed.

Uncle Vito called tonight for only the 4th time this year. Sounds like the Sabres ate a bad batch of baked beans at the hotel buffet for lunch. If Luke Adam looks EXTRA slow tonight, it's because he's squeezing his cheeks together. Vito's words not mine.
So far this season, these guys have s**t on the ice. I can't see why they couldn't s**t all over the ice again tonight.

I think the Savres have shown me what they've got for this season. And it ain't enough.

Hey if anyone here wants to give me ooohh idk 4 million bucks; im positive I could show up and give the puck away then spend a few weeks warming the bench :wallbash:
For $4 million, I'd learn how to skate. Would that make me a top6 forward in Darcy's book?:w00t:

Absolutely. The 3 Stooges (Darcy, Larry, and Tom) think they're smarter than the rest of teh NHL and think you only need to sign an all-star goalie plus a bunch of cast-off 2nd and 3rd liners and the playoffs are a cinch. These guys basically hung Miller out to dry in hockey's Mecca (unfortunately the Habs no longer use the most sacred Forum).
The trouble is that we can't get rid of Darcy until we get rid of Larry and Tom. And I don't have the money to do that.

If you remember it you weren't there. :P
Didn't say I remembered it all!

I saw a live cattle auction earlier. Recorded it. I'm tempted.

There's an interesting documentary on the Woodstock music festival on the History Channel, if anyone is interested. I remember some of it.

Damn, Montreal took us to school that period.
Couldn't be the talent level, could it? Nah, Darcy says we're loaded with top 6 forwards. :wallbash:

Let's hope that the Sabres are willing to use the remainder of that cap space to add to a forward ranks that sorely needs a couple of legit "top six" forwards.
We can always hope.

I said that because they need to be playing around .650 for the rest of the season to be in a reasonable spot to battle for the 8th position. And no time like the present to get started on it.
That's like the rule of thumb for saving for retirement, the later you start, the more you have to save.
Let's hoe it's not too late for the Sabres.
Who will be cut/traded next season?

It sounds like the Sabres are looking for a hard-nosed coach. Which Sabre won't make the cut under this new regime.
