Jokiharju on Sabres Prospects Challenge roster while Cozens’ status remains uncertain

‘Jokiharju split last year between Chicago and Rockford of the AHL and then won a gold medal while playing for Finland in the World Championships. On a crowded Buffalo blue line, he figures to start the season in Rochester but could push through if trades are made and if he has a good showing in Prospect Challenge and exhibition games.’

Sabres Mailbag: Is Victor Olofsson ready to make an impact?

‘There will be growing pains if Olofsson does earn a full-time role in Buffalo this season. After all, he’s only played six NHL games. However, I believe he’s ready for a top-six role. Cozens will eventually become the best player of this group, but he’s likely going to play another junior season with Lethbridge. Additionally, Will Borgen probably won’t have the opportunity to play much in Buffalo after the team acquired Colin Miller and Henri Jokiharju, who are also right-shot defensemen.’

Sabres to open training camp Sept. 12

‘The Sabres’ first camp under new coach Ralph Krueger will be a little different than past years. Most of camp will be held at KeyBank Center instead of Harborcenter, the team’s practice facility. Only three sessions – Sept. 15, 16 and 27 – are open to the public.’

Top Sabres pick Dylan Cozens could miss Prospects Challenge

‘After Cozens, 18, had surgery, the Sabres said he would need two to three months to recover. So the Yukon native, who has been skating, could be healed in time to play soon.’

Sabres set to open training camp on September 12

‘This year’s training camp will primarily be held at KeyBank Center, and will feature three sessions that will be open to the public on Sunday, September 15, Thursday, September 26 and Friday, September 27.’

Sabres release roster for Prospects Challenge

‘Cozens is still recovering from a thumb injury that required surgery after development camp in late June. The 18-year-old has been on the ice working to get back from surgery, but is not quite ready to return to take part in the Prospects Challenge. The hope now is that Cozens will be ready for training camp, which gets started in less than two weeks.’

Sabres release 2019-2020 training camp schedule

‘Thursday, Sept. 12 – Players report for testing and physicals.’

Sabres begin training camp Sept. 12

‘Practices on Sept. 15, Sept. 26 and Sept. 27 are all open to the public.

Olofsson, Jokiharju highlight players to participate in Prospects Challenge

‘Jokiharju, who the Sabres acquired in a trade with the Chicago Blackhawks in July, will also suit up. Jokiharju was one of the Blackhawks best young defenseman and scored 12 points in 38 games, before being send down to the minors following a coaching change in the Windy City.’

Sabres training camp opens September 12

‘Training camp will be held primarily at KeyBank Center. Sessions on Sunday, Sept. 15, Thursday, Sept. 26 and Friday, Sept. 27 will be open to the public.’
