Lightning put blanket on Sabres’ offense

‘”It’s one of those nights where we didn’t deserve the points,” Sabres captain Jason Pominville said. “We didn’t get them because we didn’t create enough.”‘

Regehr slowly starting to settle in with Sabres

‘”He’s a great guy, very good hockey player,” defenseman Andrej Sekera said in St. Pete Times Forum. “He’s always got a positive attitude. I think it’s as fun for him as it is for us. We knew he was a great defenseman, but he is just proving he belongs out there.”‘

St. Louis and Garon key Lightning win over Sabres

‘The Sabres had just five shots during the third period.’

Tampa Bay 3, Buffalo 0

‘Ryan Miller made 23 saves on 25 shots in defeat for Buffalo, which had its three-game winning streak snapped.’

Lightning shut out Sabres 3-0

‘Tyler Ennis left the game in the first period. The sophomore took a tumble into the net, sustaining a lower body injury. After going to the dressing room, Ennis came back out on the ice to test his injury, but he wasn’t healthy enough to skate.’

The aftermath: Lightning 3, Sabres 0

‘Head coach Guy Boucher made the point at the morning skate. The only way that the Lightning would be able to score on Ryan Miller was if the team could screen the Buffalo netminder.’
