‘”He asked me if I’d ever gone through anything like this, and I said, ‘Every year of my career was a bad start to the season,’ ” coach Lindy Ruff said. “It’s tough because it’s wearing on him a little bit. I thought he could have made a few better decisions with the puck [Thursday] night, but I thought his effort was really good. He got involved in some one-on-one situations where he went after pucks. It’s not happening right now, but it will happen.”‘
