Sabres take 'new direction' in Connolly's treatment

Source: Ottawa Citizen

‘He’s still out with a concussion, though, and the Sabres are over the salary cap by his $2.9 million U.S. salary. They’d obviously like Connolly back for his sake. However, they also want to know where they stand with him, long term, before they decide how they’re going to handle their Daniel Briere-Chris Drury dilemma. With both players estimated to be (at least) in the $6 million U.S. range next season, speculation is that the Sabres will keep one and let the other go. If Connolly is not in the picture, though, that could change the equation.’
