'To fill out the roster, Drew Stafford and Dan Paille have been recalled from Rochester once again.'

'With Lydman's return, the Sabres may be able to rely less on Brian Campbell, who has averaged around 30 minutes a game while Lydman is out. While Campbell enjoys the extra minutes, the replacement of Lydman for a rookie defenseman will help to disperse ice time more evenly. "Obviously Toni is going to play quite a few minutes," said Campbell. "I'm sure it will be a lot less for all of us. You know you take what you get and you move on."'
'They did it in a variety of different ways. Ryan Miller was terrific in the net. The overall effort from everyone in the lineup was solid. They brought some kids up from the Rochester Americans to fill in, and they played quite well. Drew Stafford in particular piled up several points. He looked very impressive.'
‘The Sabres will have two more healthy bodies tonight when they take on the New York Rangers at HSBC Arena. Defenseman Toni Lydman and left winger Jochen Hecht will return to the lineup after fully recovering from their upper body injuries.’
'In December 2004, at a time the league and its players couldn't be farther apart, Shanahan had the credibility to pull the right people together and form a 26-member hockey incubator for what is now known as the Shanahan Summit. He paid for the brainstorming weekend in Toronto out of his own pocket.'
‘Even the harshest critics must be satisfied with the way Vanek has delivered this season. He has been one of the NHL’s most dangerous weapons in front of the net and goes into tonight’s game against the New York Rangers in HSBC Arena with superlative stats on a superlative squad. He’s on pace for 55 goals and 102 points.’
‘Sabres equipment manager Rip Simonick has been selected to work the exhibition. The Old First Ward native has been with the Sabres for 36 years, supplying the pads and sharpening the skates of everyone from Floyd Smith to Tim Horton to Dominik Hasek to Michael Funk. This will be Simonick’s third All-Star honor. He also worked the 1978 exhibition in Memorial Auditorium and 1989 in Edmonton.’
‘RW Maxim Afinogenov has four goals and four assists in his past six games.’
‘“I feel pretty good right now, so if things keep going well, I’ll be in,” Lydman said following Wednesday’s practice. “It’s not so much the conditioning, it’s the passing and reading the game. Everything happens so fast out there. I pretty much just had headaches and my neck was sore. I had a couple of different doctors suspecting different things.”’
‘Healy has no such worries, based on his experience at working at ice level. “It’s a great place to call a game,” says the former Leaf. “You get a better sense of the energy, the speed, the trash talking between the players, the emotions.”‘
