'As for last Saturday's 6-1 drubbing in Ottawa, the Sabres were just not mentally in the game and that was the most bothersome part to me. Whether it was drained in the 5-2 win over Toronto the night before, I don't know, but it shouldn't have been. Also, the Sabres were physically mismatched, which is really what it was. And that, to me, should worry a coach and I'm sure it does.'

‘Chris Drury calls them “regrettable points,” a term for games a hockey team gives up early in the season they don’t recover in the standings. “You give them up in October, November, December and you don’t think much of them,” Drury said. “Then you miss the playoffs by four points and you’re kicking yourself.”’
'"You look at the last two, three previous years in Buffalo, we get behind in the 13th, 14th spot, and we're dying all year, trying to get back in the playoffs," Sabres defenseman Brian Campbell said. "So why don't we do it easier and stay in the playoff hunt and stay in the top eight positions and work our way up?"'
'"I was a guy that played a heart-and-soul style of game," Foligno said, "and now that I am retired I've taken a back seat to teaching other players and working with kids to help them realize their dreams.'
