'These days, few players get to become part of a community before they get traded, but Ray’s been playing for this team for so long that younger fans didn’t know he COULD be traded (his NHL record for the most penalty minutes with one team will likely stand). Ray not only saw the difference he could make in the lives of children in our community, but grounded newer players by ‘requiring’ volunteer work.'
