'Barring an arbitrator's ruling, former Buffalo Sabres draft choice Michael Zigomanis is about to become fair game for the rest of the National Hockey League. Three prospects, including Zigomanis, will re-enter this month's NHL draft after the league failed Thursday to reach a compromise with the NHL Players' Association to validate their disputed contracts.'

'The preseason schedule, announced on Thursday, features six games, including two matchups against Northeast Division rival Toronto and the team's first-ever visit to Columbus. The Sabres will open training camp on Tuesday, Sept. 11.'

'"The risk is with the GMs," he said. "Whether there is a power outage or a jammed fax, it is their obligation."'

A stunned Dallas crowd looked on in disbelief as the Sabres poured off the bench and mobbed Jason Woolley.
