Allan in MD
The "O" in Ovechkin stands for zero, as in the head. If the league doesn't suspend that fool big time, they are a bunch of pansies. Every replay of the assault is more scary than the last. Of course, since Danny returned, Ovechkin will likely get nada ($100 fine) from the league. And by the way, the Caps announcers, especially the "O" Craig Laughlin, have nothing to say about the Ovechkin hit and aftermath other than Gaustad has alot of nerve entering the fray from out of nowhere. To quote Laughlin about the assault, "he didn't mean to do it."

Mr.Christopher
I wonder how they would have reacted if Ovechkin was the one who got hit? They would call the FBI to have Gaustad arrested on charges of attempted murder.

apuszczalowski
To quote Laughlin about the assault, "he didn't mean to do it." Neither did Bertuzzi, or anyone else who does something that injured or could have seriously injured someone else. Its always the first excuse when someone does something wrong. Maybe OJ didn't mean to kill 2 people, does it make it any less wrong?
