Twisted Wrister Posted April 17, 2006 Report Share Posted April 17, 2006 Ok, I understand the rivalry and all that jazz about the Sabres-Leafs and the Leafs are canadian royalty.....but the level of whining and homerness that goes on with this club is ridiculous...examples: take this excerpt from the national post in Canada: " Early in the second period, Buffalo's Mike Grier took advantage of getting tangled up with Tucker to high-stick the Toronto forward. But Tucker, who had jawed with Thomas Vanek at the end of the first period, actively dissuaded teammate Matt Stajan from going after Grier after officials had whistled the play dead." They make it sound like Grier high sticked Tucker intentionally for revenge and Tucker held his guys back from going after the 225 pound Grier. You read the posts on TSN and it's all Leafs fans saying "you guys even remember what the playoffs are?" and if "Peters was so tough he should have challenged Tucker"....which he did but Darcy backed down. Then there's the matter of the regard with which the leafs are held with the league and Colin Campbell......point of this all is that it makes it even sweeter when a team makes it sooo easy to hate them.
