  1. The Buffalo Sabres need to waive Eric Comrie and move on. What reputation the Buffalo Sabres don’t any reputation other than losing yearly and keeping a minor goalie Eric Comrie on the Sabres roster is insanity he was trash with the Winnipeg Jets there is no upside. The Buffalo Sabres need to ice there best players this is major league sports. Eric Comrie has no leverage and because he played so poorly isn’t trade able at NHL trade deadline for the Sabres so there is no point keeping him anymore on the Sabres roster. Again let Eric Comrie complain it doesn’t matter pay him what you owe him and be done with it. The Sabres couldn’t even sign home town Patrick Kane. Keeping Eric Comrie happy isn’t changing the Sabres losing reputation winning does that. Eric Comrie can’t help the Sabres with that so there is no point of keeping on the Sabres roster. Waive Eric Comrie and go from there with Devon Levi and UPL alternating until one shows there above and beyond the other goalie in my opinion. Go Sabres! Let’s Go Buffalo

  2. I think the chances are greater that Don Granato will get fired than Kevyn Adams even though they both should be fired for incompetence. The Buffalo Sabres losing out on a home town player who grew up a Buffalo Sabres fan Patrick Kane was the final straw for me that Kevyn Adams needs to be fired too he will never be a big closer like the New York Yankees traded for Juan Soto from the San Diego Padres. Kevyn Adams is incapable of pulling off a big splash deal like that he failed with Patrick Kane which is a disgrace fire both Don Granato, Kevyn Adams and sell the Buffalo Sabres Terry Pegula you are a cheap owner that isn’t capable of pulling off big deals either. Terry Pegula is one of the worse owners in the NHL 13 years and no playoffs that is a disgrace in my opinion. Go Sabres! Let’s Go Buffalo

  3. I feel for Devon Levi because he can’t win either way with some Buffalo Sabres fans. If the Sabres lose against the Boston Bruins tonight. Sabres fan stuck on Devon Levi needs to spend a year in Rochester so the Sabres can keep a terrible goalie in Eric Comrie. See Devon Levi needs to be in Rochester. If Devon Levi wins that same Sabres fan will be waiting to pounce once Devon Levi loses another game with the same he needs to be in Rochester. It doesn’t matter the opponent or the rest of the Sabres players on ice play around Devon Levi or that the Sabres have an 18 year old Zack Benson on the Sabres. Devon Levi who is 21 years old a grown man needs to be in Rochester because he is too young to these Sabres fans. The same Sabres fan doesn’t understand the Sabres are going to be in a free agent bidding war to keep Devon Levi long term. You can tell Devon Levi is the most talented goalie we had since Dominik Hasek. But your missing Ryan Miller? Ryan Miller was a good goalie and a hard worker that plugged away and plugged away. But Ryan Miller didn’t have the athleticism that Devon Levi has. Devon Levi reminds me a lot of the late Sabres goalie Roger Crozier who was quick like Levi. Devon Levi is going to be special and the Sabres organization with those two fools Kevyn Adams and Don Granato can’t screw with Devon Levi head sending him up and down between Buffalo and Rochester eventually he will ask out of Buffalo where he can play in the NHL. The Montreal Canadians are known to be very interested in acquiring Devon Levi. Devon Levi belongs in the NHL. Release Eric Comrie and if he clears waivers send him to Rochester that is the best option for the Sabres organization in my opinion. Go Sabres! Let’s Go Buffalo

  4. Another day and another loss nothing new with the Buffalo Sabres. Beating the Detroit Red Wings are the type of teams you need to beat if you want to make the playoffs. Look how Detroit rebuilt and look at Buffalo? It’s obviously not working in Buffalo with Don Granato he needs to be fired. Starting Eric Comrie over Devon Levi who is the Sabres future is insanity. I would rather lose with the future of the Sabres with Levi than a never was in Comrie a Winnipeg Jets castoff in my opinion. Go Sabres! Let’s Go Buffalo

This is the ridiculous of the Buffalo Sabres forget about Eric Comrie he isn’t the future for the Sabres in any way. Devon Levi should start in goal tonight while he is here. The Buffalo Sabres need to clean house coach and general manager in my opinion. Go Sabres! Let’s Go Buffalo

A lot of people I know don't want to venture into the city any more.  I think that plays into it quite a bit. The city has no identity and seems to be getting more and more crime-ridden.

I dislike going into the city. I might do it once or twice to go to an Amerks game, but even then it's drive in and drive out.

That isn’t the problem. The problem is Rochester was never the sports town that Buffalo is. Rochester problem is no city pride. The Rochester area runs to Buffalo for professional sports and Syracuse for college sports. There is nothing wrong with that I am just saying. Where I support Buffalo teams professional and college. I wouldn’t go to a Syracuse Orange game in anything even if one was to pay me to go. That is the difference along with the Blue Cross Arena is outdated and Rochester should have built a new arena in the late 1990’s like Hershey Bears instead of renovating the Blue Cross Arena and building a soccer stadium which has been a disaster.

Rochester has always struggled supporting the Rochester Knighthawks the old owner Curt Styres did everything to get fans to go with a good team. Terry Pegula is a terrible owner Rochester was better off with Curt Styres who moved to Halifax. Terry Pegula is a fool he is losing his shirt in Rochester plus he has conflict of interests owning the Buffalo Bandits and Rochester Knighthawks. Think about it who is Terry Pegula going to take care of the Buffalo Bandits who are profitable or the Rochester Knighthawks that are losing money? Best case for Rochester fans Rochester needs to have the Rochester Red Wings buy the Rochester Americans promoting community owned year long fun co market the teams sharing expenses like they do in Toledo with the Toledo Mud Hens baseball team and Toledo Walleye hockey team. Fold the Rochester Knighthawks getting Terry Pegula completely out of Rochester sports. Then put a AHL expansion franchise in Buffalo suburbs in a new mini arena practice facility like the Vegas Golden Knights for the Sabres AHL affiliate when the NHL expands to Houston and Atlanta. Rochester can potentially be the new Atlanta or Houston NHL expansion teams affiliate. Terry Pegula can’t even handle Buffalo teams much less Rochester teams. Rochester needs to move on from Terry Pegula we in Buffalo are stuck with him Rochester isn’t move on from the Buffalo Sabres if I was Rochester Americans in my opinion. Go Sabres! Let’s Go Buffalo

I love the Bandits games but havne't been to one in a couple of years.

What has attendence been like at the Bandits games in the last couple years?

Really good attendance the Buffalo Bandits are the best ticket in town for the price have been a season ticket holder since day one. The Buffalo Sabres are an embarrassment take a look at the Buffalo Bandits corner with our championship banners a fifth banner is going up. That is how Buffalo Bandits lacrosse is going. If it was between saving the Buffalo Bandits or Buffalo Sabres good bye Sabres. I have been a Buffalo Bandits fan from day one in 1992 when they came to Buffalo and a Buffalo Sabres fan for 49 years and counting. I don’t care how much money the Buffalo Sabres bring in win hockey games or get out of town and start over with a new Buffalo hockey or basketball franchise for Buffalo. I am good with bringing the Buffalo Blizzard and Buffalo Destroyers back who I was also a season ticket holder for to replace the Buffalo Sabres if this is the crap product we are going to get forever from Terry Pegula. The Buffalo Sabres are an embarrassment and a rip off for the money for the Sabres tickets. The Buffalo Bandits play there hearts out for $35,000 I think is the top salary for a NLL franchise player. The Buffalo Bandits have real job when they aren’t playing lacrosse and live in the real world. The Buffalo Sabres could learn something from the Buffalo Bandits players in my opinion. Go Bandits! Let’s Go Buffalo

Yup.   Probably right.  He would probably take less money to stay in Raleigh than move to Buffalo.

There was a time when Buffalo was an attractive place for hockey players to bring their families, but that was long ago.

The Sun belt NHL expansion of the 1990’s really hurt the Buffalo Sabres attracting free agents. Plus the Buffalo Sabres tank idea by Terry Pegula was a major mistake that could cost Buffalo potentially the Buffalo Sabres if things don’t change by the end of the Sabres lease. The tank was a disaster that the Sabres have not been able to recover some our Sabres fan base when that failed big time. Firing Lindy Ruff was a major mistake. The Buffalo market isn’t big enough like New York or Toronto where fans just show up regardless of the incompetent ownership and management. Don Granato has to go that is a start of change. The Buffalo Sabres players are too comfortable there is no urgency to win hockey games that is a problem in my opinion. Go Sabres! Let’s Go Buffalo

Someone sent me a picture from inside the 300's at the concessions.  It was a ghost town.

I never thought I would see this happen to my team.

I am not surprised the Buffalo Sabres have been bad for 13 years that is a lot to ask any town that isn’t some major city with huge population. The Buffalo Sabres need a change at coach to start and go from there. Will that happen? I doubt it because it seems Terry Pegula is good with the present attendance at Sabres games. He has the Buffalo Bills and the champion Buffalo Bandits to off set the Sabres losses in my opinion. Go Sabres! Let’s Go Buffalo

Terry isn’t going to do anything!!!  Terry is more concerned with stability than actually winning championships.  Both the Sabres and Bills are structured exactly how he wants them.  Both teams are filled with management, coaches and players that are “culture” and “process” oriented first, which always gives him a convenient out when they under perform.

Terry is not driven by winning Championships period.  He has been completely absent from both teams for years, while he largely lives on his yacht in Florida.  I understand currently being there for Kim and her recovery, but then delegate or restructure the organizations so there is way more accountability.  The only time he has been seen or heard from is to cut the ribbon on his new cash register in Orchard Park after stealing/taking 950 million dollars from NYS residents.

The managements, coaches and players of both teams kind of love this setup.  They can do what they want, play how they want and not worry about any real accountability from anyone.  These teams are both not driven entities of excellence but complete country clubs and that ALL starts with Terry!

I always thought that the Bills were just a cash register to Terry, just there to make him look good in public and bring in a sh*t ton of money.  But I really did think he cared about the Sabres.  I had faith the Sabres would get it right under his ownership because he seemed to truly love the team and its history.  Man, I just don’t know anymore.

This all starts with Terry, he has created this atmosphere with both teams.  If he truly can’t take command and demand better for whatever reason he should just cash out and sell them both.

I agree but Terry Pegula has no reason to do this when both teams continue to go up in value and he can use the Buffalo Sabres losses against his other profitable businesses at tax time. The bottom line is the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres just exist and for a lot of Buffalo fans they are good with that. But the problem is as prices continue to climb and Buffalo salaries don’t keep up with the rest of the country that is where long term one or both of these professional franchises could be sold or moved potentially out of Buffalo. Terry Pegula is 73 years old that also could become a potential problem as Terry ages it’s not that simple to pass professional franchises to your kids because of the inheritance taxes due. I think one team most likely survives and if I was to guess it’s the Buffalo Sabres because NHL hockey franchises aren’t as popular as NFL franchises. I really believe at some point the New Bills Stadium is going to be a Buffalo CFL football franchise stadium with costs more inlined with Buffalo salaries and what Buffalo fans can afford. But that is just speculation on my part maybe the Buffalo Bills survive and the Buffalo Sabres move with Buffalo becoming a AHL hockey city again. Or maybe none of the Buffalo franchises move out of Buffalo just more suffering because both the Buffalo franchises exist who knows. But one thing I do know it’s going to cost all the Buffalo fans in some way money wise weather one likes it or not in my opinion. Go Sabres! Go Bills! Let’s Go Buffalo

I can't be the only one around here who honestly thinks Levi gives us the best chance to win and should be brought back immediately...

Your not Devon Levi is in Rochester because of a few Sabres fans that want to develop and miss the playoffs forever for some fantasy that the Sabres will get all 1st round picks and win a Stanley Cup by tanking for decades. The Buffalo News which is a trash newspaper printed in Cleveland the Sabres beat writer also played a role pressuring the Buffalo Sabres management to send down Devon Levi with his constant send Devon Levi crap.  Because these groups have honestly talked themselves into after a few games UPL is a different goaltender from three years ago. The only thing different about UPL is the year. Same old UPL caving under pressure 6 goals on 14 shots that is the Sabres number one goalie. The Sabres organization is trash and it wouldn’t surprise me if Devon Levi ends up with the Montreal Canadians at some point because of the craziness of some of our Sabres fans, Buffalo News media and the messed up Sabres organization. Kevyn Adams should be fired for the Devon Levi move alone that is why he will be fired because he listens to public opinion over his own two eyes he caved to public opinion. Fire Don Granato who is a minor league coach and Kevyn Adams who doesn’t have what it takes to be a General Manager in the NHL. I seen enough of those two incompetent people. Sell the Sabres Terry Pegula or make the proper investment in player development, coaches and a real general manager not one learning on the job like Kevyn Adams in my opinion. Go Sabres! Let’s Go Buffalo

I missed tonight's game. Thrilled with the result. I still worry UPL might be fool's gold, but I'm also happy to be proven wrong. My $ is on Levi long-term having the most distinguished career, but goalies are funny creatures...

I agree the thing is you hope as a Buffalo Sabres fan that the UPL crowd don’t get there way like they did with Darren Puppa back in the day over Tom Barrasso. One of the worst decisions the Sabres organization ever made was trading the more talented Tom Barrasso to the Pittsburgh Penguins for Doug Bodger and Darrin Shannon going with the Sabres fan favorite Darren Puppa because he shutout Wayne Gretzky and the Edmonton Oilers in Edmonton he became a Sabres fan folk hero. We all know how that turned out for the Sabres. UPL isn’t ever going to be anything more than a NHL backup goalie he let in 6 goals on his first 14 shots that is terrible he can’t play back to back at the same consistent level he folds every time unfortunately. With Devon Levi right now is unknown. I rather sink or swim with the unknown Devon Levi who is more talented than UPL as a Sabres fan.

Eric Comrie it’s a joke this man is on the Sabres roster he has no value. Winnipeg Jets got rid of this bum and some Sabres fans think he is good ridiculous he should have been waived if Sabres roster shot warranted it. It doesn’t matter anymore because I think both Don Granato and Kevyn Adams are fired at the end of the season if the Sabres don’t make the playoffs. The Sabres lease is going to be up on Key Bank Center and the Sabres want public money changes are coming if Terry Pegula doesn’t get a playoff team this season. Because it’s hard to convince the general public for public money when your team sucks for 13 years plus years. Changes are coming because this current Sabres team is badly underachieving and were expected to make the playoffs this season they actually look worse than last season in my opinion. Go Sabres! Let’s Go Buffalo

  13. I thought it was Devon Levi Buffalo Sabres roster spot holding these Rochester Americans players back? Face it Jiri Kulich isn’t good enough and isn’t saving the Buffalo Sabres. The Sabres are toast for the playoffs this season and in the future as long as Terry Pegula refuses to invest in facilities for proper development that isn’t the set up at the 1950’s Blue Cross Arena in Rochester. Terry Pegula sell the Sabres or invest in modern training facilities for your Sabres prospects. My goodness the UB Bulls football team has newer better training facilities than the Rochester Americans and we wonder why haven’t the Sabres made the playoffs in 12 years? Ask yourself Sabres fans how come Terry Pegula builds Penn State hockey a new hockey arena better than the Blue Cross Arena? Exactly the Sabres aren’t serious they exist in NHL today nothing more than that unfortunately just telling it like it is. When the Sabres have to talk and answer questions from Devon Levi to agree to go down to the Rochester Americans it tells you that Rochester Blue Cross Arena is a dump. I predict right now Devon Levi leaves the Sabres after his entry level contract is up if he is a star goalie he isn’t staying he will remember everything stupid that the Sabres organization does. Both Don Granato and Kevyn Adams should be fired. Remember where you heard it. Rochester Blue Cross Arena was a dump in the 1990’s yet here we are. Patrick Kane wanted no part of the Sabres organization that is very telling what a messed up organization the Buffalo Sabres are right now sell the Sabres Terry Pegula in my opinion. Go Sabres! Let’s Go Buffalo

With UPL playing at the level he's at, he deserves the net.  Comrie is a solid backup.  Levi needs minutes to develop and he hasn't been good in Buffalo this year.  The Sabres are down a couple of forwards and could use the roster spot.  It all adds up to Levi going to Rochester.  Good to see the team making a logical decision.

This is a very telling statistic from the Sabres press release:  "Levi, 21, is the only goaltender drafted in 2020 or later to appear in an NHL game this season."

Eric Comrie isn’t a solid backup and beyond this season is of no use for the Buffalo Sabres organization. I can’t wait until Buffalo Bandits season because the Buffalo Sabres relying on UPL and Eric Comrie the season over for playoffs this season unfortunately again a panic move by Don Granato. When you start listening to the fans your sitting next to them. UPL has shown no ability that he can carry a number one goalie load after three seasons. Nothing has changed with UPL but the year. A few good Buffalo Sabres games doesn’t make him capable. I believe UPL will fold under the added pressure like he always does. As for Eric Comrie he has no future and can’t seem to stay healthy. As for Devon Levi I think the last place I would send a goalie is the AHL Rochester Americans if anything Devon Levi should have stayed in college at Northeastern Huskies.

Again if I owned the Buffalo Sabres the Sabres farm team wouldn’t be in Rochester anymore. I don’t believe you can develop players in that poor outdated Rochester Americans AHL setup. Blue Cross Arena in Rochester is a dump. I have talked about it for years it’s one of the many reasons the Buffalo Sabres as a franchise is struggling. The Buffalo Sabres need a 5,000 to 6,000 seat arena built in Amherst for their Buffalo Sabres AHL farm team and other sports holdings like the Henderson Dollar Loan Center for the Vegas Golden Knights AHL farm team. That is today not our outdated 1970’s minor league setup.

The Buffalo Sabres need to make a $80 to $100 million dollar investment in their hockey development if they are serious. $80 to $100 million dollars is what is needed for a AHL minor league arena. I wouldn’t build in Rochester it’s too far away from Buffalo plus I don’t believe in that Rochester sports market anymore the Rochester Knighthawks attendance is terrible Terry Pegula is losing a lot of money with that team. I think the Buffalo Sabres would be more successful acquiring land in Amherst by UB to build a minor league arena for the Buffalo Sabres AHL team, UB Bulls basketball, indoor soccer and indoor football. Terry Pegula should sell his Rochester holdings Americans and Knighthawks to local Rochester investors or keep them and sell the Buffalo Sabres/Buffalo Bandits because it’s not working the way it is now. The Buffalo Sabres need major developmental money not just for renovations to Key Bank Center downtown but for a minor league arena in Amherst. The Vegas Golden Knights aren’t winning by luck they made major investments money in their Vegas AHL team facilities. Terry Pegula doesn’t look like he is the man that is going to do that for whatever reason so more Sabres losing and suffering as Darcy Regier said which is really unfortunate. I don’t believe in Rochester Americans or that substandard development set up for the Sabres prospects in my opinion. Go Sabres! Let’s Go Buffalo

  15. Another Buffalo Sabres loss to the Lindy Ruff’s New Jersey Devils. The Sabres should never have fired Lindy Ruff that was the beginning of the Sabres downward spiral. I don’t believe in Don Granato I never did because he was a career minor league coach and an assistant to Ralph Krueger. The Sabres are struggling right now with no Tage Thompson. Keep that in mind our best Center and offensive player is injured. I am not saying things would be different but I think it’s not helping not having him in line up. Onto the New York Rangers game on Monday in my opinion. Go Sabres! Let’s Go Buffalo

  16. Hopefully they play well but keep in mind Jody Gage was a Rochester Americans AHL star it doesn’t mean it translates to the NHL level. I am not saying that the situations are the same. Just that some Buffalo Sabres fans see AHL stats and assume they will translate to the NHL level. I guess what I am saying is caution I wouldn’t expect much from either one Jiri Kulich or Isak Rosen tonight. If they were good enough they would have made it a month ago over Zach Benson a 18 year old player that was just drafted in the spring. Good luck to both Kulich and Rosen in my opinion. Go Sabres! Let’s Go Buffalo

  17. Very good Buffalo Sabres come from behind victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins. UPL played well to keep the Sabres in the game tonight. Onto the the New Jersey Devils game tomorrow with former Sabres coach Lindy Ruff. Don Granato’s Stanley Cup, Lindy Ruff vs Don Granato. Yes I am keeping track of Don Granato vs Lindy Ruff record against each other because I do things like that. I am sure I am not the only Sabres fan that does stuff like that in my opinion. Go Sabres! Let’s Go Buffalo

So I guess the Levi train derailed, huh?

No just some Buffalo Sabres fans panicking in fantasy land that a Rochester forward who has some points in the AHL is going to magically dominate the NHL and the Sabres make the playoffs with this move. Even though this same forward a month ago couldn’t make the Sabres opening night roster. Again Devon Levi is here for the season because he made the Buffalo Sabres and has played well enough to stay in the NHL. It’s just some Sabres fans fixated on three goalies bother them. You know there young Sabres fans not old Sabres fans. Because if they were old Sabres fans they know the first year I follow the Buffalo Sabres 1975 the Sabres had three goalies all season and made the Stanley Cup finals. Gary Bromley who played the most games that season, Roger Crozier who was ailing, Rocky Farr than Gerry Desjardins was signed from the Michigan Stags WHA took Rocky Farr’s goalie spot on the Sabres roster. If three goalies was good enough for Punch Imlach it’s good enough for me. Notice Sabres fans three goalies didn’t stop the Sabres from winning consistently. Face it using three goalies theory why the Sabres aren’t winning is an excuse. The Sabres aren’t winning because the Sabres aren’t good enough period. Until the Sabres players play consistently for three periods for more than once a week nothing is going to change in my opinion. Go Sabres! Let’s Go Buffalo

  19. I find it interesting that there are some Buffalo Sabres fans that really think that sending Devon Levi to Rochester Americans and calling up a forward from Rochester when that same forward they want to call up wasn’t good enough to stick with the Buffalo Sabres to begin with to start the season. After a month in Rochester that forward is magically good enough now for the NHL? Calling up one or two forwards from Rochester is going to fix all the Sabres problems playoffs here comes the Sabres? The players are in Rochester because they aren’t good enough to begin the season.

Understand it is very important for Devon Levi to play NHL level games for the Buffalo Sabres. Eric Comrie’s contract is up. He isn’t the Sabres future and he isn’t coming back so there no point playing him unless there are injuries to Devon Levi or UPL. The Sabres need to keep alternating Devon Levi and UPL so the Sabres aren’t in this mess next season with inexperienced NHL level goalies. You send Devon Levi to Rochester for the season you have no known goalie for next season again if UPL fails the Sabres have nothing? So basically the Sabres would be right back to hoping Devon Levi play can translate to NHL success next season going through this same crap again. Devon Levi needs to succeed or fail in the NHL this season with the Sabres. Let’s get it over with Devon Levi either figures out the NHL this season or the Sabres need to move on to a Plan B next season. Sending Devon Levi to Rochester only drags this crap on. Devon Levi either figures out this season the NHL or the Sabres should move on.

If Devon Levi isn’t the answer after this season and goes all UPL last season the Sabres have to draft another goalie high in the NHL draft. NHL teams aren’t trading number one goalies it is just not happening. I would let it roll with Devon Levi sink or swim. If Devon Levi completely sinks this season at least you know. Devon Levi can always go down next season to work on being a career backup NHL goalie while the Sabres work on a plan B. Which will probably be with a new Buffalo Sabres head coach because no playoffs Don Granato shouldn’t be retained for next season in my opinion. Go Sabres! Let’s Go Buffalo
