What it means is that Kim apparently became very sick in May '22 with some mystery illness that has never been explained. She was a highly promininent businesswoman and executive with the Bills and Sabres on the national stage and we don't know anything about her condition, we don't know what affected her and we haven't seen her or even heard anything about her in many months. She also seems to have been replaced by Roth in the Sabres' organization. I feel like she's been disappeared, possibly because of her illness. I think the people of Buffalo deserve to know and I think it's respectful of Kim to understand what happened to her. No one should just disappear from the public view with no real explanation. Why has the family made her situation into a mystery?

If your goalie wins 12 out of every 18 games he plays... the other numbers (save %, etc.) won't matter so much. UPL also gets some wicked goal support.
I think the reason why he gets goal support is because the team feels it has to score at least four goals everytime Cool Hand Luke is in the net to counter the three he's certain to let in.

I lost my game feed. How much of this is UPL's fault?

28-72-21 again. Tage on checking line.Wonder what's wrong with Tage. I saw him knocked to the ice at least three - four times today. Is it they just have tightened up on him or maybe he's playing hurt? I know, he started off the year slowly so maybe he's just streaky. But I'm kind of worried about him.

I am so impressed with Owen Power. They can't get around him and he makes smart, calm plays. He's a defensive stalwart at 19.

Here's a compilation of grades and observations about Dumba from TSN and a Wild chat board. He's been healthy-scratched for two straight games now. I think he's almost certain to be traded at this point.
TSN:
Assets: Has electric skating ability and a very aggressive approach to the game. Can rush up the ice with the puck with aplomb, and provide huge open-ice hits that change the momentum of a game. Can also log big minutes. Owns a big point shot, too.
Flaws: Needs to play a little more in control in order to maximize his vast all-around potential in the National Hockey League. Must also fill out his 6-0 frame to better handle the rigors of the pro game. At times, he strugges with the decision-making process.
Career Potential: Dynamic, big-minute defenseman.
Fan grades and comments:
Dumba........... C- (not a fan)
Dumba - C (more or less is what he is at this point. Defense has leveled off to a ‘fine’ level and his offense has been hindered by injuries. Willing to stick his nose in but his frame limits his effectiveness here unless he is catching someone with a hit in a bad spot. Careless penalties also need to stop.)
Fair: Dumba (barely) Dumba was very close to being bad, his 18:11/game 5v5 ToI (25th leaguewide) is what bumped him up.
It's hardly scientific but he doesn't seem like a fan favorite at this point. However after about 8 years, he may have gotten stale over in MN. I like that he's a RHD and he can skate. He is 28 and only stands 6' / 183 lb. He does make big open ice hits but he seems to get injured...

Vesey had no hype other than the Sabres foolishly trading for him.
What's your beef with USA Hockey?
No beef Punch. I didn't mean to say USA Hockey, I meant to say Hockey East. The point was that both Eichel and Vesey are from Hockey EAst, they're both from Boston and they're both a-holes. Coincidence?

- It bears on the wisdom of betting the franchise on one guy, which is what the Sabres decided to do when they burned everything to the ground to get
him.I know it's just a technical point but they didn't burn everything to the ground to get Eichel but to get McDavid. They lost the gamble and got the wrong guy and the franchise depended on it. Murray's face at the draft said it all.

Eichel and Vesey, two peas in an over-hyped USA hockey pod.

It's fair to ask why others don't get time, but it doesn't mean those that do are not worthy of the time given. It's not MAYBE the military, every year there is a military pre-game warmup. It's not MAYBE cancer patients, every year this happens. It's becoming not MAYBE indigenous people but pretty much every year teams have nights that honor them.
Of the groups you named, how many of them would you like to see get special jerseys? Do you really want space aliens and stray animals to get them? Is it good enough that many teams now have team dogs that highlight adoption, shelters, service animal programs?
I'm against special jerseys for any group. If one group is singled out, then it excludes everybody else.

I wish more players would stand up for their own point of view like Provorov and diss honoring groups before games with special jerseys. Seems like LGBTQ are the only ones who ever get honored with special jerseys before games. Why don't other minorities get equal time? There are Indians, Blacks, Japanese, Ukrainians, Chinese, Africans, Hispanics, Christians, Muslims, Jews...How about the homeless, stray animals, or even space aliens? Why are only LGBTQ and maybe the military getting all the attention?

Tage is getting famous in Russia now. Some good early footage of Tage as a youngster here. One thing I saw that some of his UConn teammates were waiting for his rebounds. Maybe the Sabres should take note.

I'm seeing shooting into the crest is one as opposed to the first half picking corners but now maybe the shot % is coming down to their real level. Another thing it seems some of the better teams may have figured Thompson out. They're not playing him loose and are finding he's not physical. I think "The Condor" needs to gain a few pounds to reach his full potential. He's freaky but too lanky and is sometimes easily thrown off his skates.

I wanted to wish Pete Weber all the best after his brain surgery this past Monday to correct his balance problems. A great broadcaster and a great guy.

Eichel thrown under the bus by Vegas HC Bruce Cassidy
in The Aud Club

Lately he hasn't done Jack. Wonder what's wrong? Lingering injuries? Chemistry problems? Motivation? Another coach to kill? I do hope he gets back to normal soon. But a $10 million player he is not.
