Refs gave this game to Florida from puck drop, NHL rigged.
-
Stillman has been nothing but a detriment to this team, sometimes you gotta admit a mistake and move on.
-
This organization does have an embarassment of riches when it comes to prospects, its just going to take a couple more years for it all to come to fruition.
Hopefully playoffs next season for sure, and then contender for years after that if all these prospects work out.

NHL fing over the Sabres once again surprise surprise.

Cmon boys don't choke this one away now...

Nice game from the Sabres, this team is going to be scary over the next few years, only more reinforcements coming in a bunch of prospects that are doing very well in the AHL or juniors.

Prior to Covid they were donated to charity. (The ones that weren't reclaimed after the game, that is.)
Expect now they are simply thrown out.
Maybe.. I don't see how they cannot be washed and then donated to make sure their clean though.

Heading into today, he’s also minus 13 with that production on a team with a plus 14 goal differential. No matter how you slice it he is a defensive liability that just doesn’t produce enough to offset that.
I'm willing to trade him, but like I said I think he could be used better as an offensive specialist and keep him off the ice when it comes to defense. He has only had a 60% offensive zone start percentage this year when in previous years he was closer to 70% and his +/- has gotten better this year even with the higher percentage of defensive zone starts.

I'm not infatuated but he has 23 goals the 4th most on the team.
He is a PP and offensive specialist and imo is sorta used wrong by Granato, he should bounce around lines, even the 4th line and just be put on the ice when we get face-offs in the offensive zone or were on the PP and that is about it, as little defensive responsibility as possible.

He was entering the O-Zone with Krebs, the D were changing behind and Mittelstadt just whipped it backwards to nobody rather than chip it deep
He was trying to keep possession for the 4 on 4, I don't think it was a bad idea, just terrible execution, gotta be sure someone is back there ffs.

Opponents will continue to run the Sabres until they can't.

I'm oblivious to all the garbage in the final minutes of the 2nd. I'm living in a world where the Sabres will win handily in the third.
Out of curiosity: was it a drop-back or poor pass in the o-zone? Because I'm saying you can rifle it back to a D behind the Sabres net (Power, Joker) and wait for them to try their forecheck again and start another rush.
No look drop back pass to no one, D was going for a change.

How many games has UPL had under 3 goals scored against him? Like one?
God we need a better goal-tender.

More than a coincidence that we took control after Donny G nailed Clague’s sorry ass to the bench.
Yes, we need to bring in a veteran d-man before the deadline which is fast approaching, someone with some grit and that is defensively responsible preferably and that has play-off experience.

We literally just let them stand right in front of UPL rubbing up on him and screening him untouched. WTF, d-man should be all over these mofo's pushing them out of the crease and away from our goalie.
Clear the friggin crease! Make them pay for standing there! Unreal 2 easy goals because our defense can't play with some physicality.

Okposo's line played well in this game as they are more suited to the style Ottawa was dictating. The kids struggle with this stuff, they still have much to learn. Krebs is getting it. It'll come.
The only way the kids struggling learn to play is to play the game...
Skinner Tuch and Tage Thompson were all a -2 tonight, so OBVIOUSLY playing them and sitting the rookies didn't do jack ***** but make us lose.

They are young. They will be young for the next few years. You could see from the first period that they were tired. This team is not going to win every night.
YA everyone can see they are all tired, yet Granato plays TT, Skinner, Tuch 19 minutes and Quinn and JJ 11-12 minutes...
Should we not be using the fresh legs in a back to back game? Why is he forcing our 1st line onto the ice tired? I hate this crap, its the same crap we did with Eichel.
This is not a 1 line team and I don't want it to be.

The first line all played less than 20 minutes. That’s reasonable for a first line of a team that is down and is trying to win. Dahlin did play a lot, but he was the best looking Sabre out there tonight IMO.
I disagree, it is not reasonable, there is only 60 minutes in a game and 4 lines, 60 / 4 = 15 minutes toi. For some reason the last 3 games Granato has been playing his 1st line 4-5 minutes more then any other line when before that is was much more balanced, like versus Vegas Cozens and Mittelstadt had as much TOI as Tage Thompson and Skinner...
When did we become a 1 line team?
-
Granato making some bad decisions tonight... Overplaying Dahlin and his first line AGAIN in back to back nights while his rookies sit on the bench and watch...
Not pulling the goalie on 3 face-offs in the offensive zone makes no sense... we had to score...
I dunno when we became a 1 line team and Granato started this crap with overplaying Dahlin and his first line, but it needs to stop, now.

As it turned out they didn't control the puck anyway.
Well another forward on the ice might of changed that... no? just because they got beat when they finally did pull the goalie doesn't mean it would of happened before.
-
Alex Tuch, Jeff Skinner, Tage Thompson all with over 19 minutes of TOI...
Quinn with 11 minutes, JJ with 12 minutes.
Dahlin 29:29 seconds of TOI.
This is a problem... and I think its a problem that is on Granato, we are not just a ONE LINE TEAM, but for some reason Granato is splitting up TOI like we are all of a sudden, wtf?

-
Why are we not pulling the goalie with 3 face-offs in the offensive zone? I just don't get it.
-
I feel like this a problem, especially on back to back nights... entire first line with over 17 minutes of toi, next highest is cozens at 14... Quinn has 11 minutes of toi as the lowest.
When did we become a 1st line only team exactly?
-
I feel like Thompson - Tuch - Skinner and Dahlin have been on the ice the entire third period...
-
Sabres playing tired lazy hockey, I know you love your first line Granato but sometimes they are just too tired to be playing the most TOI on the team 2 nights in a row... they are all a -1 and the only minus players on the team, play your other players bro...

w/e u say bro, goal called back, BS penalities killing momentum in the 1st period, ***** penalty to end the game, obviously the NHL wants florida in the play-offs.
