  1. Welcome home Lindy Ruff save our Buffalo Sabres. Yes I think the Sabres are in trouble in Buffalo the most since the Adelphia bankruptcy because of what has gone on here for 13 years since Lindy Ruff was fired. Some Sabres fans need to wake up the Sabres can’t have empty seats night after night the NHL is a major league sport. Thank you Terry Pegula you finally see the light better late than never. The Buffalo Sabres in the playoffs next season in my opinion. Go Sabres! Let’s Go Buffalo

  2. Terry Pegula is looking for investors because his other non sports businesses probably didn’t turn out the way he thought. I think overtime he will sell more and more stake in both the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres. Terry Pegula isn’t a sports man and really has no vision which I have said for years. He relies on sports businesses other people with the vision started. That is also the real reason why the New Bills stadium isn’t domed. Terry Pegula didn’t have the money he is having trouble building a new open air Bills stadium. Not doming the new Bills stadium is a terrible decision he needed to find investors for 49% of the Bills to do the stadium right but unfortunately he has no vision. Terry Pegula isn’t Ralph Wilson or the Knox Family as much as Buffalo fans wish him to be he isn’t. Buffalo needs owners with more liquidity and better vision to take us into the next decade in my opinion. Go Bills! Go Sabres! Let’s Go Buffalo

  3. I can tell you this Buffalo Sabres fans pick the wrong goalie every time. Tom Barrasso was better than Darren Puppa but Sabres fans were in love with Darren Puppa because he shutout Wayne Gretzky and the Edmonton Oilers his first NHL game. Same with Mika Noronen another Sabres fans legend so knowing that. Sabres fan he loves UPL that couldn’t get it done in big games. I will take Devon Levi but I think Sabres fans will run him out of town just like Tom Barrasso.

Buffalo Sabres fan will over pay for UPL guaranteed and it’s a bad hockey decision when you can see Devon Levi is a better athlete than UPL. UPL has one other thing Sabres fans should think about he can run to Europe like Mika Noronen and never be heard of again. Devon Levi is Canadian he wants to be in the NHL and win a Stanley Cup. I am not so sure that all European hockey players have that same importance to play in the NHL for a Stanley Cup over for there country at World championships and Olympics?

So spend away on UPL but don’t cry to Buffalo Super Fan when things don’t work out. Again I don’t care about how well UPL played for a half a season he sucked the rest of his time with the Buffalo Sabres yet there are Sabres fans that want to open the bank vault giving him whatever he wants which is ridiculous for 6 months of good play crazy in my opinion. Go Sabres! Let’s Go Buffalo

Tucson fans won't be happy losing their team.  This ownership group is making a lot of enemies.

Tucson is towards the bottom of the AHL in attendance. The ownership is doing the best business move to keep hockey alive in Phoenix while working on the new Phoenix arena. Tucson isn’t a professional sports towns it’s Arizona Wildcats and nothing else because it’s a college town in my opinion. Go Sabres! Let’s Go Buffalo

  5. Arizona Coyotes fans are ridiculous they want to blame the current owner who is trying to get an arena built in Arizona. The whole area is to blame Coyotes fans are going to hit the jackpot when they return in 5 years like the Cleveland Browns. The bottom line the NHL wants to be in Phoenix. I think people are way over estimating Utah as a NHL/NBA market playing at the same time of year with major league prices and a small television market. We will see but I have my doubts about Salt Lake City as both a NBA and NHL market time will tell. The sad reality is the current Winnipeg Jets might end up being the Phoenix Coyotes again in 5 years because the Winnipeg market is too small and the arena is too small. No way is Canada building the Winnipeg Jets a new arena. I think the odds are the current Winnipeg Jets become the new Phoenix Coyotes in five years. With NHL expansion to Atlanta and Houston sometime in the early 2030’s in my opinion. Go Sabres! Let’s Go Buffalo

  6. I don’t think the report is true unfortunately. But too many Buffalo fans still can’t see through Terry Pegula what kinda of Western New York fan sells the Rochester Knighthawks? What kind of Western New York fan does business with Legends owned by Jerry Jones instead of going to all Western New York vendors in the new Bills Stadium like the Buffalo Bisons do? Terry Pegula is an owner who cares about the bottom line profits. If I have to hear anymore Terry Pegula walks on water I want to throw up.

Buffalo sports existed before Terry Pegula and will exist when he sells his teams. This man has over half of Buffalo fans brainwashed. Because he bought the Buffalo Bills for profit he is allowed to run the Buffalo Sabres into the ground forever with no complaints what a joke? Some in our Buffalo fan base mostly hardcore Bills fans that back everything Terry Pegula does no matter what have no belief in Buffalo anymore which is sad really to see. It’s not the Buffalo I grew up in anymore too many Buffalo fans bowing to Terry Pegula. Like there is no possibility other than Terry Pegula to own the Buffalo Sabres locally? Terry Pegula has been terrible owner for the Buffalo Sabres and Key Bank Center in my opinion. Go Sabres! Let’s Go Buffalo

Why hasn’t Kevin Adam’s been fired???

Why? You want Terry Pegula hiring the next head coach? Kevyn Adams is one of the few that did the right thing today and told it like it is in a press conference. It was the first time I have heard honesty out of the Buffalo Sabres organization since Lindy Ruff 14 years ago. So no I wouldn’t fire Kevyn Adams in my opinion. Go Sabres! Let’s Go Buffalo

  8. Craig Berube I don’t believe is coming to the Buffalo Sabres for a lousy $2 million dollars that Don Granato was making he isn’t coming here for $2 million dollars. Be glad that Lindy Ruff is interested in my opinion. Go Sabres! Let’s Go Buffalo

  9. I am not surprised that Don Granato was fired. Buffalo Sabres fans saying I want this coach or that coach the coach has to want to come to the Buffalo Sabres. It takes two that is why the odds are it’s Lindy Ruff be glad he has merci on the Buffalo Sabres and wants to come back here. The bottom line this Sabres fan would hold a parade if the Buffalo Sabres actually made the playoffs again. Be glad Lindy Ruff wants to comeback the Sabres should have hired him back instead of Ralph Krueger. Enough the Buffalo Sabres fans fantasies this isn’t the Buffalo Bills job with Josh Allen or even the Buffalo Bandits coaching job. The Buffalo Sabres aren’t a must coach team wake up some Sabres fans think NHL coaches are excited about the Buffalo Sabre job there not that is what happens tanking and sucking for 13 straight years.

If the Buffalo Sabres hire Lindy Ruff as head coach we should celebrate because I know he can get Buffalo Sabres to the playoffs. I don’t care he never won a Stanley Cup there is a first time for everything. Plus I can sleep at night knowing Lindy Ruff is going to get these lazy players skating and not like they are on a cruise. The Buffalo Sabres presently are by far one of the laziest Buffalo sports teams in my 50 years of being a fan Lindy Ruff put an end of that crap that I am certain about. If Lindy Ruff can’t fix the Sabres than the Sabres franchise needs to be contracted and starting with a new Buffalo NHL expansion team because I have zero tolerance of youth excuses and lazy entitled Sabres hockey players on this team while every other NHL team puts out. The Sabres started out rebuild before the Detroit Wings that is embarrassing in my opinion. Go Sabres! Let’s Go Buffalo

  10. Look the Phoenix Coyotes are back in 5 years guaranteed weather Canadian hockey fans like it or not. Forget the land $1 billion dollars for Phoenix Coyotes 2 will be peanuts for a NHL expansion team five years from now. Alex Meruelo will keep a small percentage of the new Phoenix Coyotes and bring in investors like David Beckham did with Inter Miami. David Beckham didn’t have the money himself to own a Miami MLS franchise he found the wealthy investors. Phoenix needs a break for 5 years from the NHL. The Coyotes fans are whining and the NHL will make the new Phoenix Coyotes 2 successful like Vegas and Seattle with the expansion draft. There will be 34 teams Phoenix Coyotes with Atlanta, Houston and who ever battling it out for one spot. One of those spots that loses the expansion will probably end up with the Winnipeg Jets. I don’t see the Winnipeg Jets in Winnipeg in five years the market is too small. The NHL wants Phoenix so I don’t feel sorry for the Coyotes fans they are going to make out with a nice new arena somewhere in Phoenix. Watch because too many Phoenix business leaders thought the NHL was bluffing about moving now it happened they weren’t bluffing. So absent makes the heart grow fonder. Glendale Arena leaders are embarrassment they aren’t blame less. They would rather have a empty arena for 41 dates a year that is screwed up thought process. Alex Meruelo had nothing to do with that it was the previous Coyotes owner who didn’t pay Glendale Arena. The Glendale Arena is going to be a white elephant in 5 years like Nassau County Coliseum of the New York Islanders because when the Phoenix Coyotes owners build the privately owned new Phoenix Coyotes arena it will take whatever business Glendale Arena has now from them. Just remember the NHL wants Phoenix so it will happen in 5 years with the Phoenix Coyotes name and fans won’t care about the old Coyotes. Just the excitement of having NHL hockey back and the fancy new arena.

I don’t think the NHL really wants Utah the owner just had the money to get the NHL owners out of a bad arena situation. Salt Lake City will struggle regardless of how much money the owner has. This owner remains me of Terry Pegula we saw how that turned out for the Buffalo Sabres. Salt Lake City is a smaller market than Phoenix and it’s an Utah Jazz basketball market. I am not convinced that Utah is going to make it in the NHL going against the popular Utah Jazz at the same time of season. I think the Phoenix Coyotes 2 will win a Stanley Cup before the Utah NHL team wins a Stanley Cup. That is why I wanted the Buffalo Sabres to shutdown for a few years while Key Bank Center is renovated and start over as Buffalo Sabres 2 expansion team with a new Sabres owner expansion draft. I think Phoenix Coyotes should be excited they are going to hit the jackpot in 5 years. It’s going to be funny reading Canadian hockey fans go nuts when Atlanta Thrashers 2 is awarded an NHL expansion team. Quebec City is never happening it’s just too small of a market. Winnipeg is bigger than Quebec City and they are struggling again. NHL expansion to the US big television markets is happening weather NHL fans like it or not. It’s pretty obvious that the NHL is going the MLS soccer route they want all the big US television markets. Canada is like an old oil well it’s drying up and there isn’t the potential to really get anymore money oil out of the well. I think 34 NHL teams is guaranteed in 5 years and it wouldn’t surprise me if it’s 36 NHL teams if the NHL owners can find suckers I mean new NHL owners to pay billion dollars plus for NHL expansion teams. The US is growing population wise and the NHL owners want the money they don’t care about quality of hockey play or some small Canadian hockey market when someone is writing a billion dollar check that they line their pockets with in my opinion. Go Sabres! Let’s Go Buffalo

  11. No the biggest blame I put on the current Buffalo Sabres players. Have some professional pride and not let teams walk over you. Have a backbone and stand up. You hate the Sabres fans again that doesn’t matter. Stand up so you’re not the laughing stock of the NHL yearly. The booing Sabres fans is a crutch for not standing up against the opposing NHL teams. No one is going to feel sorry for you on the NHL professional level. The problem is the Sabres body and skill were NHL ready the mind wasn’t mature enough to be a NHL hockey player. And the problem is now there are 32 NHL teams and growing the players have choices where in the NHL past when I started being a Sabres fan there were 18 NHL teams and 14 WHA teams. Back then these players would be dealt with being left home and benched at first. And if that didn’t work it was off to the minors sometimes never to be heard from again in the NHL. There is no way Punch Imlach would coddle players like that neither would Scotty Bowman. I do think Kevyn Adams needs to be harder on the Sabres players next year than he has been. I do wonder if Kevyn Adams and Don Granato are too understanding with the Sabres players? I do think the Sabres players could potentially benefit from a coach like Lindy Ruff that is a little more old school than a Kevyn Adams and Don Granato.

My impression of Buffalo Sabres head coach Don Granato it’s like having “Mister Rogers” as a head coach to much understanding. I am not saying go all Bobby Knight the former Indiana Hoosiers basketball coach or former Green Bay Packers football coach Vince Lombardi for a head coach because none of the current Sabres players today would last a season with someone like coach Bobby Knight or Vince Lombardi someone like that yells and barks. Because players are mentally fragile today they just shut down mentally. My generation someone that yells or barks means they care and want you to reach your full potential but society today is different place. The players just shut down so there is a very fine line today with the players. My observation the Sabres have some of the most mentally fragile players I have ever seen in my watching sports for 50 years. I really wonder sometimes if sports are cut out for some of these Sabres players. Yes they have the skills but mentally they are lacking in my opinion. Go Sabres! Let’s Go Buffalo

***** great. Yet another city that will have a parade before Buffalo.

On a side note, I think those 10 team NTC lists are f***** bull *****.

And does this finally put to bed the fears of the Sabres relocating?! Good lord.

First as a Buffalo Sabres fan I don’t fear relocation not when the Sabres already announced renovations. Plus relocate to where? Salt Lake City is a small market the Buffalo Sabres market goes into Southern Ontario. You’re not moving the Sabres to Salt Lake City. What about Houston? Are you going to move the Buffalo Sabres to Houston in a risky hockey market over Buffalo/Southern Ontario that loves hockey with millions of hockey fans? No the Toronto Maple Leafs you can’t get tickets and if you can there a fortune. The Buffalo Sabres is an outlet for Southern Ontario hockey fans to watch NHL games in person. The Sabres aren’t going anywhere and it’s time Terry Pegula gets off the brother can you spare a dime crap. The Sabres aren’t moving Terry Pegula needs to hire a competent head coach and cut the crap in my opinion. Go Sabres! Let’s Go Buffalo

I wonder if this move and the money being thrown around to make it happen peaks Pegula’s interest as far as selling the team. Would have to be a buyer willing to keep the team put.

To change directions, another aggressive owner will make things interesting in the trade and free agent market. Interesting which Coyotes players become available. I think most see Lawson Crouse as a good fit. Liam O’Brien as a 4th liner who is aggressive and will enforce would be a nice change of pace for this lineup too.

Wonder what the move means for Armstrong and the front office. Does Smith want a fresh start like an expansion team with all new hires under his watch.

No because NHL expansion is coming the new Phoenix Coyotes and another team either Atlanta or Houston. So why sell there is more expansion money to share plus who in Buffalo is going to give Terry Pegula $1 billion dollars? Buffalo local owners blinked when the price was $180 million for the Buffalo Sabres. I believe the NHL will definitely expand to 34 teams either Phoenix Coyotes if they meet the benchmarks or both Houston and Atlanta if they don’t. I am telling Buffalo Sabres fans keep an eye on San Diego Stan Kronke is building a new San Diego Arena and a representative for his company said he is getting a NHL team for San Diego. So I think we are looking at possibly 36 NHL teams in the 2030’s. The NHL is becoming like MLS just expanding dividing up the huge expansion fees among the other team owners.

Also I think Salt Lake City is going to struggle supporting both the NBA and NHL teams at the same time of year. It’s not a big television market. I also don’t think regardless of Ryan Smith’s money that NHL free agents are going to run to Salt Lake City like Las Vegas. It’s cold like Buffalo I don’t see Salt Lake City as Utopia destination for the players. The players are going to run too Las Vegas, Tampa and Miami first. Again Terry Pegula has money so what NHL Players have a lot of choices today. I could see this Utah NHL experiment not successful and selling back to Phoenix potentially in 5 years. Phoenix is a much bigger television market than Salt Lake City. Phoenix like Atlanta needs to figure out the arena situation when they do the NHL will be back. The sad irony is the new Phoenix Coyotes in five years could become the Winnipeg Jets again. They are just about done in Winnipeg the market is too small. So the NHL the way they conduct business I wouldn’t put it past the NHL to move Winnipeg Jets 2 to Phoenix in five years with Houston and Atlanta getting expansion franchises in my opinion. Go Sabres! Let’s Go Buffalo

I’m not sure what sucks about this. What did the Pegula’s do running the arena that was noteworthy at all? Good riddance. Has no impact on the Amerks. Hopefully whoever comes in does more.

There is possible impact there are rumors that the Rochester Knighthawks are being sold to Grand Rapids, Michigan business interest that will move the Rochester Knighthawks there for next season. Also the Vegas Desert Dogs are moving from the Vegas strip to suburban Henderson, Nevada that was announced in other NLL lacrosse news. Once Terry Pegula gave up control of the Rochester Arena I figured this would happen. Terry Pegula is selling off his Rochester holdings to focus on Buffalo which is a wise business move. He is spread out to thin money wise. The Key Bank Center is going to cost Terry Pegula a fortune to renovate the arena it needs so many repairs. You can’t flip the Buffalo Sabres with the Key Bank Center looking like that, broken seats it’s a mess.

Terry Pegula isn’t going to get from New York State for arena like the Buffalo Bills stadium he going to have to fund more of that then he did the new Bills stadium. Rochester Americans I believe at some point will be sold the Rochester Knighthawks are just the beginning. Hopefully Rochester business interests step to the plate and buy the hockey team to save the team for the Rochester fans there.

This is what Terry Pegula and most owners do so he isn’t alone it’s business yet so many Western New York fans say no he is just a Buffalo fan he is different than other owners. No he isn’t different from any other owner. You sell unprofitable assets. We saw in Buffalo with Terry Pegula business holdings sold to new owners. Terry Pegula wants to make a quick buck with as little money going out of his own money as possible. That is what owners do. But I realize I am in the minority on Terry Pegula as an owner as a Buffalo sports fan. I have been suspended for 4 months from the Buffalo Bills Drive board because the young naive moderator can’t handle Buffalo fans like myself telling the truth about Terry Pegula. For Buffalo fans wondering why isn’t Buffalo Super Fan not posting on the Bills Drive board lately? I am fine and hopefully will be back when the moderator lifts my suspension on the Bills Drive site. I take the suspension with Buffalo fan pride because I spoke my opinion about a lot of things about Buffalo sports. I am not going to be bullied by a young naive Bills fan moderator that hasn’t lived enough Buffalo/Western New York life to really be aware what is going on. I am not fan of today’s generation of canceling and using position of power to get fans to basically be afraid to speak up just conform to group think of everyone. I wasn’t raised that way and I clearly write every posts it’s my own opinion. You don’t like what I post don’t read my posts pretty simple concept.

Next Buffalo Bills and Sabres season will be special for me personally it marks I have been a Buffalo fan for 50 years. I still can’t believe it’s been 50 years supporting our Buffalo sports teams where has the time gone. Overtime Buffalo fans will see why did the Bills Drive moderator suspended Buffalo Super Fan for telling my own personal opinion? I am not alone and as time goes on more Buffalo fans will come to see what I see on Terry Pegula. Terry Pegula isn’t one of us fans the acting job he put on day one of buying the Buffalo Sabres have Western New York fans brain washed he is the greatest one of us just a fan. Good luck with that naive fantasy in my opinion. Go Sabres! Let’s Buffalo

  15. What a pathetic first 8 minutes of the game. Don Granato has to go and replaced by Lindy Ruff. I wouldn’t fire Don Granato I would create a new hockey position hockey coaching consultant Lindy Ruff. Don Granato is still the head coach but do what the Miami Marlins did to force there GM Kim Ng out taking her power away to force her quit because she would have to answer to a newly created position take Don Granato power away. The Don Granato contract just says he is the head coach which he still would be but with no power. Lindy Ruff is on the Sabres bench to overrule Don Granato with Lindy Ruff having final say so Don Granato quits so you don’t have to pay him a dime if he quits if he doesn’t we continue with Lindy Ruff coaching consultant. Let Don Granato go to court he won’t win because no one is firing him to sit home and collect a salary let him help run Sabres practices with Lindy Ruff. That is what I would do to get out of the Don Granato contract extension. Don Granato has too much of an ego he will quit it’s human nature in my opinion. Go Sabres! Let’s Go Buffalo

    Not with ticket $

It doesn’t matter Buffalo Sabres ticket boycott is only hurting oneself. Terry Pegula is never moving the Buffalo Sabres because it was never about the Buffalo Sabres it hasn’t been for some time. The reason why the Sabres are desirable to a potential owner isn’t the Sabres. It’s the control of the Key Bank Center with high end ticket prices for concerts that keep going up. The Sabres can’t bring in that kind of money. You can see Terry Pegula is just maintaining the Buffalo Sabres nothing more than that. So there aren’t going to be any big name free agents signings. And NHL hockey fans will still show up to see the other teams and the NHL stars like Connor McDavid play at Key Bank Center plus he has the Buffalo Bandits and the NCAA Basketball Tournament. So punish yourself and say I am done with the Buffalo Sabres but if you like hockey you are only punishing yourself. Terry Pegula doesn’t care. He is only getting the new video boards so he doesn’t lose the NCAA basketball tournament that flushes his arena with cash.

With more new arenas coming on board he needs to keep the arena up to date. A major renovation is coming and the city, county and state are paying for it weather a Buffalo Sabres fan likes it or not. Why Buffalo Super Fan? Because the state has to much to lose the Key Bank Center needs renovation regardless. Better to work with Terry Pegula than the state having to renovate it all themselves with no NHL tenant. See Hartford XL Center today the state of Connecticut has to pay for all the renovations themselves because the Hartford Whalers have been gone for decades. So the bottom line is boycotting Sabres games is a complete waste of energy and time. Follow the money the state makes out on the back end of the lease deals. The state is banking on players salaries are going to make more and more money to tax as the game of football and hockey grows and the television contracts go up. If you understand economics Terry Pegula isn’t unfortunately going anywhere he so his net worth double. We Buffalo Sabres fans just have to hope that Terry Pegula gets lucky and stumbles on the Sabres version of Josh Allen in the NHL draft. Again what I think of Terry Pegula really doesn’t matter he has no pride. If Terry Pegula had any pride he would have fired Don Granato when Lindy Ruff became available. Someday the Sabres will win again in my opinion. Go Sabres! Let’s Go Buffalo

  17. I wouldn’t have traded Stefon Diggs until after the 2024 season and certainly not to the Houston Texans that are in the AFC conference. The Buffalo Bills have lost too much talent this offseason and I wouldn’t be surprised if the Bills are 9-8 or 8-9 for the 2024 NFL season with no playoffs. It’s more than just Stefon Diggs the Bills had to release some really good players like Tre White and Jordan Poyer. But I think the Mitch Morse is going to hurt the most potentially he was a reliable center in my opinion. Go Bills! Let’s Go Buffalo

Every year the Rochester team becomes more popular than the Sabres.

Where in Rochester? Certainly not in Buffalo? The Buffalo Sabres could go 40 years without playoffs and I will never actively root for a Rochester or Syracuse sports team. Both these cities are long time rivals of Buffalo Baseball Bisons so with this Buffalo fan that isn’t happening regardless of the Rochester Americans success and the Buffalo Sabres lack of success. Rochester sports teams aren’t Buffalo sorry. The Buffalo Sabres could potentially move out of Buffalo and I would wait for Buffalo to get its own hockey team back in the NHL or AHL. I am not rooting for a Rochester sports teams. Even when the original Buffalo Bisons moved to Winnipeg to become the Winnipeg Whips. Buffalo baseball fans didn’t flock to Rochester Red Wings games in the 1970’s. That is how I became a New York Yankees fan before Buffalo got Eastern League double a back in 1979 when I was eleven years old. Even though the Buffalo Bisons were double a compared to the triple a Rochester Red Wings. I went to Buffalo Bisons games. This was year number 45 years for old Buffalo Super Fan rooting on the Buffalo Bisons. The markets are too separate markets regardless of the Bills and Sabres having fans in Rochester in my opinion. Go Sabres! Let’s Go Buffalo

  19. I think a big reason Terry Pegula wants out of the Rochester arena business is because of what is going on in Buffalo. The new Buffalo Bills stadium is a fortune and Terry Pegula has to cover cost overruns or if he can’t get the money he thought out of PSL’s that is one reason. Second reason is Key Bank Center needs major upgrades and renovations. Erie County, New York State won’t contribute much after coming up with $850 million dollars for the Buffalo Bills stadium. So I think those projects are his focus which have a lot more upside than the minor league hockey arena business. It will affect the Rochester Knighthawks and Rochester Americans because Terry Pegula rent will go up once he turns over the control of the Rochester arena. I think the Rochester Americans and Rochester Knighthawks will be sold at some point to Rochester committed owner or owners interest. I just see what is going on in the NHL they development of players in the home city they play in. I could see at some of Buffalo will have their own AHL team that will have the Buffalo Sabres prospects in a new renovated Key Bank Center or a new Buffalo Sabres practice facility/Buffalo AHL team playing there. It won’t happen right away but 2030’s I could see it or that doesn’t happen at all and Sabres prospects stay in Rochester but Terry Pegula completely out of the minor league business of hockey. The Rochester Knighthawks are in limbo because they are losing money and Terry Pegula already owns the profitable Buffalo Bandits.

Rochester leadership in the business community needs to do what they do in Toledo with the Toledo Mud Hens IL and Toledo Walleyes ECHL they cross market year round fun. Let the Rochester Red Wings cross promote with the Rochester Americans. I never thought it was a good idea for the Buffalo Sabres to take over the old Rochester Arena. I am from Buffalo but I think Rochester screwed up renovating the old arena instead of doing what the Hershey Bears did and just build a new arena. I would have built a new Rochester Arena over the Rochester Soccer stadium. That is where Rochester leadership screwed up. Rochester today is done as a major soccer city after the announcement of Buffalo getting a USL championship division and USL Super league franchise in 2026. The USL wants Buffalo tells me two things one Buffalo the USL leadership see Buffalo as have more potential than Rochester. Along with I think Rochester leadership burned a lot of bridges with the USL leadership with went down with the Rochester leadership/Rochester Rhinos over flexing their muscles when reality they were saying goodbye to high level soccer forever in Rochester which was dumb mistake too. Once the Rochester Rhinos shutdown it was over. I don’t think the Sacramento Kings minority owners the Dworkman’s whatever there name was were ever interested in Rochester Rhinos soccer if they didn’t get a sweetheart lease deal with the Rochester Soccer Stadium. I think the Rochester Rhinos to them was some kind of tax write off. They were never interested and they changed the iconic Rochester Rhinos name they were pretenders all hat and no cattle. So the smarter play would have been building a new Rochester Americans arena that could host year round events compared to a Soccer Stadium. Plus with modular stadium’s now it gives Rochester less leverage plus they don’t control Buffalo outdoor soccer rights anymore which is why USL can go to Buffalo in 2026. I think it will all work out for Rochester Americans but Rochester needs better leadership then they have been getting the past 20 years in my opinion. Go Sabres! Let’s Go Buffalo

  20. Look Alex Tuch is a NHL superstar in some Buffalo Sabres fans minds only because he is from Syracuse and wore the Buffalo Sabres jersey as a kid growing up. Lots of hockey players wore the Buffalo Sabres jersey growing up when we use to have good superstar players. Some Buffalo Sabres fans don’t get it Alex Tuch is never going to be Patrick Kane that was the player to acquire someone that won Stanley Cups and has actual NHL superstar talent. But Patrick Kane as much as it hurts me as a Buffalo Sabres fan made the right choice not to come to Sabresland at this time. Alex Tuch is a third line player on a Stanley Cup team that is reality regardless of the crap the loser Sabres front office with their loser hockey department tries to sell gullible Sabres fans. Alex Tuch is what he is collecting a huge salary while some Sabres fans dream away how good Alex Tuch is going to be in a year or two. Alex Tuch is at his ceiling he is only going to get older, slower, fatter and lazier as his career in Buffalo goes on.

Alex Tuch and Tage Thompson are the main reasons the Sabres suck especially Tage Thompson. If Buffalo Sabres fans can’t see it. Here is some advice turn on Buffalo tv CW23 and watch the Buffalo Bandits. Notice how there NLL superstars are consistent. Josh Byrnes and Dhane Smith are consistent goal scorers for the Buffalo Bandits not just when they feel like playing. The rest of the Bandits know there roles and produce. Of course the Bandits coaching staff runs circles around the Sabres coaching staff when it comes to brains. Fire Don Granato and hire Lindy Ruff just to save some face and dignity.

The Buffalo Sabres embarrassed themselves against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Congratulations Terry Pegula you have reached the levels of late 1970’s Toronto Maple Leafs under crazy owner Harold Ballard and the sad thing is those Maple Leafs teams made the NHL playoffs. The Sabres are a complete joke now and it’s getting worse not better in my opinion. Go Sabres! Let’s Go Buffalo

  21. The first two players I want to see traded are Alex Tuch and Dylan Cozens just to wake some Buffalo Sabres fans up they aren’t that good. Two very overrated hockey players. Pick two defenseman to keep between Dahlin, Byram or Power. I would go with trading Owen Power. Even though I am tempted to trading Rasmus Dahlin he is well paid and his act is growing old another player that is overrated for his yearly pay scale level. I expect a lot more from that bum than the Sabres are getting. I keep UPL but on a short term contract not long term with two levels of pay structure depending if he can beat out Devon Levi in training camp or not if UPL can’t he gets a lower NHL salary. So if UPL wins the Sabres job in training camp he gets what he asked for if he can’t he has to accept the Sabres lower salary. That to me is fair with UPL. I am open for all trades regardless of the player. If someone wants to overpay for Tage Thompson or Devon Levi the Sabres should be open for business. I am also open to selling Buffalo Sabres players if it keeps the Buffalo Sabres games affordable. It’s not like these bums have won anything. Also new Buffalo Sabres policy any Sabres player or Sabres employee that lashes out at Sabres fans in post game interviews or not saluting the Sabres fans is suspended 1/10th of his yearly salary that will take care of that crap the ungrateful bums in my opinion. Go Sabres! Let’s Go Buffalo

  22. Look Buffalo fans were sold an acting performance by Terry Pegula the moment he got here. This is the real Terry Pegula. How do you think he became a billionaire? Money matters to this man big time even more so than Ralph Wilson which is hard to believe. I think Terry Pegula is a ruthless businessman and I think behind the scenes Terry Pegula is very different than the bumbling fool he plays to Buffalo sports fans. I saw this man as a phony for a long time. The clue was when he fired a classy former Buffalo Sabres player Pat LaFontaine that was the first tip off Terry Pegula isn’t what he was playing publicly. He went off on the Buffalo News editorial board when he was introducing himself as the Buffalo Sabres owner. So the signs were there he is a ruthless businessman and you either buy a ticket or you don’t. He doesn’t care it has nothing to do with pride it’s always the bottom line money. That is why the Sabres are stuck with Don Granato he coaches cheap. Terry Pegula saw an opportunity to go legitimate from fracking to sports ownership. Lucky us? It is sad if Ralph Wilson could have hung on a little longer to get to the gambling business tied to the NFL. Jeremy Jacobs would have bid if Ralph Wilson just hung on a few more years. Jeremy Jacobs couldn’t bid because of the West Virginia race tracks he owns that have gambling slot machines in them. I think if that happened Jeremy Jacobs as Bills owner instead of Terry Pegula as Bills owner we would never have had Legends and Jerry Jones. That is going to potentially be the downfall of the Bills franchise in Buffalo overpriced PSL’s. I get it there are critics of Delaware North but they are Buffalo owned. Terry Pegula is not Buffalo he is from Scranton, Pennsylvania. Few knew this man 15 years ago in Buffalo. He came out of no where and Buffalo has been paying the price ever since. Higher ticket prices for a horrible hockey product and a soon to be overpriced PSL’s for a NFL football product in my opinion. Go Sabres! Go Bills! Let’s Go Buffalo

  23. I am glad this Buffalo Sabres season is coming to an end. The Sabres season was over a long time ago. I guess the issue I have as a Sabres fan is I don’t see our top six forwards being good enough to win a Stanley Cup as a core unit. Individually traded to a good team sure. All that tanking and look what the Sabres have to show for it? The Buffalo Sabres fan base is gone the arena is filled with other teams fans. I don’t think Terry Pegula will do a thing because he is just managing the Buffalo Sabres like a business asset nothing more than that. The same thing is going to happen to the Buffalo Bills they will be like Sabres games with out of town fans of other teams that can pay the PSL prices. The Buffalo Bills are just a business asset now for Terry Pegula. Again I don’t think really anything anyone can do about it. They are private businesses and there is nothing really anyone can do. It is what it is. Buffalo Super Fan would you pay and go to this Sabres product if you were healthy enough to do so? No for the Buffalo Sabres and no for the Buffalo Bills after 2025 when PSL’s start just on principle no. Because I don’t believe in paying for the right to buy a season ticket personally. For me it would be television for both the Buffalo Sabres and Buffalo Bills. I can barely stomach watching the Buffalo Sabres on television they are a pathetic franchise that is basically a AHL franchise in the NHL today in my opinion. Go Sabres! Let’s Go Buffalo
