  1. I have no problem with Levi/UPL combo next year... It's bringing in a top 4 defenseman, that will define the season going forward. For all the wringing of hands about goalies... we need another Muel to compliment our Dahlin/Power... the top 4 will average if (and a big if, giving injuries) 45 - 50 minutes a game... The weakness of this decade long rebuild seems to always be centered on goaltending, and honestly there's validity to the quality of goalies that were here, but our defensemen have been horrid in this stretch and the offense did them no favors... I can envision a Ullmark/Strayman in our goalies if we get that 4th defenseman...

  2. I ate paste as a kid.... my go to was Elmers'... peeling it off my hands... no dipping sauce like blue cheese, just paste... yum... Elmer's.... then years on I got a tat of the "fierce black mallard... noblest of all beasts".... only to find out the mallard was in fact a drake.... I'm embracing the nonsensical post and the replies.... but please what I can't accept is that Ginger got more tail than Mary Ann... Mary Ann was deceptive and probably funner to be around.... Mods... may close this reply... but.... I'm laughing now...daffy duck happy dance GIF

  3. I'm the the red headed kiddo in that scene in the stands at the Aud... I never forget that game... Funny story... My cousin and I would leave every game at the 10 minute mark of the 3rd period so we we could pull all of the parking tickets from cars right up to Niagara Street... Hey we were young 8 years old... but I have to admit... it was not the best thing to do...

  4. I'd offer FLA's 2022 first pick which we own... rights to Ryan Johnson... and Portillo for Kane... perhaps Philly's 2023 2nd round as a sweetner... Toews contract 10.5 million is unmovable... Kane is off the books at 10.5 million which would give the Hawks extra cap space after spending stupid money on Jones along with giving up picks in that belied the rebuild that is coming... does Kane fit culture and would he stay on a new contract... don't know, but the Sabres have thrown cash (spaghetti) against the wall many times... it may worth trying it with Kane

The 86-87 team was a gold mine.

The “Who?” list: Bob Logan, Dave Fenyves, Doug Trapp, Jim Hofford, Paul Brydges, Richard Hajdu, Orlando, Reekie and Mark Ferner

The “He Played For The Sabres?” list: Mark Napier, Wilf Paiement, Phil Russell, Tom Kurvers, Don Lever Jim Korn, and Clark Gillies

But who can name the forgettably-named second overall pick on that team who played a total of 162 games for the Sabres and put up a very respectable 89 points?

Has to be among the most forgettable Sabres, who probably shouldn’t be.

That would be Jacques Richard... noted cocaine smuggler... died in a one car accident like Horton. Paul Cyr when I hear his name I associate him getting stabbed in the Caribbean rather than any hockey highlights. He died at a young age too from heart failure. Jeff Parker also died relatively young from heart infection.

  6.  Boychuk - This is all about moving more players this year, if you're a veteran I have no doubt that GMKA has talked about the possible movement of you from the Sabres by the deadline. The Sabres were cap floor compliant this morning after the trade. When Tuch comes off IR his cap number is already spoken for... this deal means more Sabres are in play as the season goes... This is literally giving the keys to the kids... I was kid in the Sabres first year, my parents had season tickets. Donnie Marshall, Phil  Goyette, Floyd Smith and Roger Crozier were in the lineup...  the Sabres are better off if they can hit on some these prospects... Granted no Perreault, but if this works the Sabres with all the young talent should compete for years or not

Why would you want to trade Olofosson for a second round pick when he is demonstrating that he is capable of being a second line player who can score on a team that lacks scorers? He's been a pleasant surprise that has come up from your own system. He's a player that you should be happy to have and not eager to dispatch.

Is Olofosson a 5,000,000 player 2 years from now... He may be, but in honesty I don't see a position for him in 2 years with the prospects... It could burn the Sabres but his contract could be 3 young players going forward 2 years fromnow

  8. I like this trade... Sabres lose a $10,000,000 contract. Buffalo will always have to pay extra because of the a lot a things, especially since it's been a decade since this team mattered. GMKA, was clear that trading with some salary retention was a non-starter... He said the team needs flexibility going forward to the future, I think at the trade deadline, that the possibility of retention money could be in play. Girgensons may be moved and if we retain salary it may yield a higher (possible 3rd round)... Skinner isn't going anywhere unless there is desperate GM who's job depends on some playoff success. Speaking for myself... I think maybe moving Olofsson could possibly garner the team a 2nd rounder... Honestly... this team should compete at the latest 23-24. The prospect pool they have and will have is incredible... I'm talking the Habs prospects 50 years ago

  9. The surgery thing is the X factor. I don't know how insurance policies would work if Eichel gets his way on the disc replacement. I do know that Eichel's agents played the pressure card with the statement that there was an tacit agreement to move him, I think that backfired on him especially with the way they played Friedman. Adams does hold the cards if he has successful surgery, rehab and what not. Adams ought to call the agents bluff... Tell them to retract the no movement clause for the next 3 years. He's healthy trade him, but... the team he's traded to should have the freedom to move him for the 2-3 time frame after the Sabres move him, in case he pouts again or a new contract is in place with said team. Play that card to agents knowing Adams doesn't have to move him on Eichel's agents terms, if he wants out that bad, then waive the NMC...
