The desire to remove him is undoubtedly real.

Why do people think other teams will want a guy we don't want? They have scouts and watch video too you know.

Other teams WISH they were as deep as us offensively. They will come in droves for VO.

  2. I'm sad that it had to end BUT:

    1) He was not and never should have been a Captain. Not in his DNA. He just wants to play with no additional pressure that the captaincy brings with it.

    2) By all accounts, he was not good in the locker room. His pouting on ice was mirrored behind the closed doors and it affected his teammates.

    3) His handling and more so, the way his previous agents handled his injury with lies and sensationalism undermined not only Jack Eichel, but the Sabres organization as a whole and caused irreparable damage.

    4) The damage that the Eichel camp caused, IMHO, was purposeful and created an immense "Buyer beware" and hurt the return that the Sabres could expect.

    5) The type of surgery to be selected in the end is the decision of the team per the collective bargaining agreement that the players and their union agreed to .

    6) There is no guarantee with ADR surgery or any surgery for that matter. In a perfect world getting back to normal is, depending what source you read,  70 to 85% IN A PERFECT SCENARIO.

Playing a physical sport like Hockey is untested territory for ADR surgery, for good reason. If you're Joe Blow with a normal semi-sedate lifestyle, odds of re-injury is fairly low.

Full speed full contact professional Hockey??

    KA did everything right here.

    Good job KA!

Good luck JA. I think you're going to need it truthfully.

If you were in Jack's position, would you get the fusion?

If you were in Jack's position and felt the way he does about ADR and fusion, would you get the fusion?

I am in Jack's position,  save the professional athlete part of course.

Regardless of which direction he goes surgery wise, there is a high likelihood of re-injury due to his profession.

I can appreciate your sentiments on giving full effort. In the NHL that is more of a given than not. However, success is mostly predicated on the level of talent as reflected in the NHL cup winner this year and most years. There are many reasons why the Sabres have struggled for the past half generation. Organizational and staffing turnover without question are contributing factors. But when all is said and done it comes down to talent and depth in the organization to fill in when needed. That's been the primary reason why the Sabres have struggled.

I like you am encouraged with what the GM is doing. But make no mistake the franchise is going through a rebuilding process. If done smartly the process can to an extent be accelerated and the current product made to be more entertaining than a lot of the wretched hockey we have watched over the past number of years. Again, it's mostly about the talent.

I know this. Talent is the main ingredient for success. I'm more so looking for the recipe right now for us to keep watching Sabres Hockey. For me, youth and speed are key ingredients 😉

  5. I'm all over this new look team. Bust your ass, play at 100% and good things will come. I played in Europe for two years. We were short on talent BUT everyone of us gave 100% and you saw it night after night on the ice. We were a feared team because of all things, we had team speed! I coined a phrase with Coach Dickerson years ago on his WGR talk show " Speed Kills". He used it from that point forward. Trust me, any of you that played hockey and you have a forward or an entire line coming at you full speed, it's intimidating! I like what the GM is putting together here. And who knows, Jack may be a part of it 😉 .

I was at the show at MetLife and Mammoth WVH just blew me away. Honestly one of the best opening acts I have ever seen, even better than many "name" openers I've seen on loaded tours. Fun fact is that when they did the Van Hagar tour in the early/mid 2000's I saw them at the Meadowlands Arena and Wolfgang (who was like 14 at the time IIRC) came on stage and did a few songs with his dad.

    Excellent Mike!

They want to stick a metal or plastic thing in his neck, wait 6 weeks, then let him get driven head first into the boards?? It seems ludicrous. Especially when you compare the 6-9 month healing time these other surgeons recommend.

My point exactly! Cervical issues are no joke. One well placed hit and ....

Listen to Hour One of the Instigators today. Petey runs through the opinions of other neurosurgeons on the topic of ADR vs Fusion for athletes in high-impact sports. Let's just say Dr. Prusmack's take isn't the only one. Something I wish journalists like Elliotte Freidman would consider.

Fast forward to the 11 minute mark: https://www.audacy.com/wgr550/podcasts/the-instigators-20259

I have Neck and back Disc issues. I have seen leading specialists in and out of the area for consultation. Jack is wrong.

And Mammoth WVH is opening for Guns N' Roses on their huge stadium tour.  No better exposure than that.

Absolutely! His first few shows have been met with resounding success and great reviews. The kid does have "IT".
