If that was the only other option, then yes. I don’t understand digging something up that’s long dead, that the title doesn’t match the new post and the desire to put it there. I literally can’t think of a single benefit of doing that. Please name one if I’m missing it. Putting a post in an old topic where it doesn’t belong does not lend legitimacy to it.

i’ve mentioned this specifically before. Please put yourself in the shoes of an infrequent poster or someone who isn’t here all day. What do you think the user experience is when they see a topic from a month ago that states had Okposo and his contract. Do you think that they might expect to read something about his contract? Do you think they would be expecting new information on that subject? After all, someone dug it up for a reason right? What is their experience when they open it up, scroll through all the posts that they didn’t read a month ago, only to find a point comparison with Taylor Hall?  As a reader are you happy when that happens? Why did that reader have to go through that?

Most likely, the best option to just put it in Around the NHL. It’s literally the topic about minor NHL happenings that don’t deserve it’s own topic.

As an infrequent poster or someone who isn't here all day, I wholeheartedly disagree with you.

This line of thinking is so common and then I hear from ppl, "why don't these kids have critical thinking skills!?"

Well they can't develop those if you don't let them question stuff and learn where they are right or wrong.

A much better place to develop critical thinking skills is when you have time to think, opposed to just reacting.   That is outside of the game during film study, but not during the game. I get what Lindy is saying.

Talent isn't everything. He was a crap captain and maybe he's a crap team mate. idk, but what I do know is this team looked like a TEAM tonight and that hasn't been the case for much of Jack's tenure. Not saying that's ALL on him, but there's something different here without him.

There's something different - it's a culture change and it started in the offseason with the trades. I was at the game tonight and you felt the effort and different attitude.  It was fun to watch.  The team wont' miss Reinhart.

Again, I’ve spoken to players about guys on the Sabres and the impression I was given is that he’s not that great a teammate.

As for him staying, he’d only do it if he had to. And he’s only gonna sign for one year and then bolt in free agency. He’d have to play well for sure to keep his stock high, but he wouldn’t last past trade deadline.

I was really happy with his game this year but it’s easy to pad stats when you get the most ice or a lot of ice and games mean nothing.

I say cash him and is 25 goals in while his stock his at an all time high.

Reinhart's season reminds me of Ennis and Girgensons in the 14-15 season. Agree - sell high when you can.

I can’t do this ... after another shutout, and yet another 3rd period with the game in reach and seeing no effort, 6 measly shots on goal and no fight in them.  Let’s start over with a new person at top of the Hockey Operations and a rebuild. Not a tank, just a targeted rebuild.  Like McDermott and Beane did in 2017 and 2018.

Like McBeane showed us, you cannot change the culture and keep The Core.   IMO the core is the a main contributor to the culture, the players set the culture   - Risto, Eichel, Reinhart, Skinner, and Dahlin.  I’m tired of blaming coaches, these guys are coach killers.  They are the best players and they set the tone   That tone is to quit when it gets hard, to back away from confrontation, to play selfish, to hang heads and accept losing.

Using the Bills as a model, some of the core needs to go.   It’s time for a fresh start with a new experienced GM that actually hires the coach and works with the coach - like normal teams do.  Move Adams to business front office, he can keep Kim informed.

Reinhart and Dahlin should be part of the assets moving out of the core - need a hockey trade that shakes this team up.
