Die hard Sabres fan, but I’m not gonna lie, living here in northeastern Mass where all their games are on, I admire the way the Bruins play. I watched some of the recent games against the Caps, and compared to recent Sabres games, the difference was, um... stark. Night and day. It was like watching playoff hockey.

Hall tripped on the blue line. Can’t make this stuff up.

Anyone know if the infallible system Ralph is teaching is being executed with success by another NHL team?

A few thoughts:
1. Re: the statistical references, let's remember Einstein's quote that "Not everything that can be counted matters, and not everything that matters can be counted".
2. To me, it's not so much that Cozens actually fought as it is that he demonstrated ANY edgy physicality. We're so used to a passive, non-physical, non-intimidating style that an actual FIGHT is this shocking.
3. My observation is that most teams that make it deep into the playoffs are physical, edgy teams. Not brawlers. But they don't let you skate around without having your head on a swivel. That's still the way professional hockey is played. Until the NHL changes, to be competitive I think we have to have that edginess. See point #2 above.

I'm wondering if the entire team relied to heavily on the few core players. It appears, at least so far, that once they are forced to gut it out and play, they are competitive.
What does that say about the core players? Ugh.

I don't believe he has quit on the team. I believe he has quit on himself.
Leaders lead the way, not just in the easy ones, but in the toughs one as well. A Dick Winters quote here, and appropriate imo.
Eichel isn't leading, at least, not on the ice. And I don't mean he needs the score sheet stats either, what I do mean is he needs to lead, by example. It's clear by his play he's not.
FWIW, just now, when asked directly whether Jack was playing with an injury, RK unequivocally said no.

Time to drill another well, Terry!

Anyone else hear the guys on NHL Network ripping them for that goal?

Lifeless. Lot of emotionless faces. That third was the epitome of going through the motions.

No shots in the third period? How do they expect to come back?
Maybe they forgot it's not football or basketball, and they're saving in for the 4th quarter.

No shots on goal yet in the period.

Bad goaltending is so deflating, especially when you start to show signs of life offensively. ☹️
