  1. Really tracks when Dahlin admits that after an early day/round of golf, his shot feels a bit "off" at the rink later that same day. Krebs, I think, tries to salvage some slack by suggesting it helps with the hips. But the bottom hand, they all agree. Too much bottom hand on a golf shot to translate to the ice.

It's not crazy to actually question if in-season golf is potentially detrimental to certain pro athletes; I'm thinking of hockey and baseball most prominently.

What it takes to refine a golf swing is NOT aligned with what it takes to dial in a hockey slap shot.

Terrible analogy: have you ever gone to a hatchet throwing establishment? If so, have you noticed that everything you know about throwing a fastball or a football will actually make you a terrible hatchet thrower? Similar dichotomy. Throwing a hatchet DOES in fact resemble throwing a traditional curve ball, however. You mustn't break the wrist, turns out. It's all elbow and follow through with a rigid wrist. Like bowling, even.

    People are overthinking this.

“We’d like to thank the Buffalo Bills and the Buffalo Sabres community for their outpouring of love and concern during this difficult time with Kim. Kim had suffered a stroke on X and she’s currently dealing with the challenges that came from that day. Rest assured, we are doing the best we can to get Kim healthy and back to doing the things that she loves. We are very grateful for the onebuffalo community and your support.“

    This isn’t that hard.

Right, but medical records are confidential. If an individual or their family desires NOT to share medical details, then that is 100% within their rights.

While I would also PREFER that the Pegula family give Buffalo fans at least SOMETHING to go on with what's been going on with the President of PSE, my preferences don't really matter much when compared to the individual's/family's rights to privacy. And we all know the Pegulas are generally, mostly terrible at big picture PR.

Well, it was worth the late night, another W for the Buffalo Boys. Not the best overall game but enough to do what needed to be done

Agreed, sort of. But doesn't it seem spoiled/unrealistic to say this about a road game that ends 5-1 in BUFFALO'S FAVOR?!

We can all see some missed offensive/transition opportunities and the frustrating shifts when the Sabres get peppered with defensive zone pressure/shots...so is the concern that Buffalo is getting lucky goals and/or unsustainable goaltending? Do analytics tell us the Sabres are NOT nearly as good as their impressive goal differential might lead us to believe? Either way, doesn't this 5-1 road win EXCEED our expectations?

Would anyone be surprised to learn that the Buffalo Sabres are outplaying (via analytics) their "expected" results right now? I hope not. I also hope no one cares much yet. This is about growth and grit and sustained compete. We're seeing those things.

  4. Anyone who has spent any time in close proximity to Eichel and also to his teammates at that time can attest: the guy was at best an aloof outlier when compared to his teammates, off the ice. At Tempo it was either a larger, diverse group of young and old players led by Bogosian and/or Okposo, or it was Kane coming in right at the end of service with one or two girls (to be fair, dressed like workout partners), or Eichel coming in rarely and reluctantly with one or two NON-Sabres guests and MAYBE Sam Reinhart, or Ristolainen coming in fairly often with other Scandinavian teammates. Eichel was never with the larger groups of players. And if he was there at the same time as them, it was a surprise to both parties, and one he mostly avoided acknowledging. It was weird. He was a smug doosh from my limited but sometimes close perspective.

A lot of it is physics, in the macro, (as much as we may not perceive the very real physicality of the situation), after years, and years, of establishing the “culture” as you pointed out, or whatever term you use for that.

It doesn’t really matter what the word is, the point is that once you firmly establish as a good team, the channels that fed that success only were able to do so because they were stable.

The physics - an object in motion remains in motion unless acted upon by an opposing force. Bruins have established something as close as you can get to perpetual motion in sports

It’s hard for bad teams to get good, the other side of the coin. Object at rest remains at rest and all that

No personal offense, but this reads like a nonsensical word salad spoken slowly by Jordan Peterson as he sobs.

My point is that they can’t expect to give up only 1 regardless of the team when giving up 40 shots

its ok to look for ways we need to be better

    You're 100% correct.

But it's also okay, and preferred by some, to enjoy the game while it's still happening. Save the lessons for just a couple more minutes. Or don't. Either way.
