Every sports fan knows that the results aren't in their hands. However, if you start thinking about how little effect you actually have (none), then sports becomes a pointless waste of time that we should all feel silly for putting any emotion into.
Your sample is very different than mine. Every Sabres fan that I have talked with at work or at home is now, even if they weren't initially, pro-tank. In fact, I haven't met one person who feels embarrassed or disgusted. The closest they have gotten were comments like, "feels a little dirty, but ..." or "looking forward to next next year, but ..." followed by "tank on!"
all I can say is birds of a feather flock together, this issue is becoming more like the mounds/almond joy choice

can't convince me that there was that many hawks fans at the game, cheering for hawks scores is in a word disgusting , as for the Sabres, much respect for the effort tonight, final score did not reflect the total team effort to win the game

maybe harvest time is here, nice goal
-
Like it did the first 70 games of the season?
who to say when the plant will bear fruit, you plant, water and hope, teddy has planted, watered, weeded and maybe now the fruit is coming, who am I to say
-
maybe the Nolan's work hard theory has merit after all, nice PP goal
-
hawks will get nasty, will Sabres be up to the challenge, we will see, soon, very soon
-
nice goal. fight on, fight on
-
down only 2, with the way the boys have been dominated in 1st period is a victory of sorts
-
I'm still not sure if you're serious or trolling.
check my past posts, I root for the Sabres to win, all ways have all ways will, supporting a team is just that support, win or lose. a band wagon jumper on or off has never been in my DNA

I think what is pissing people off is this post game celebration crap which comes across as "hey F U Buffalo". I also think that you would have to be blind to not notice they have come together since the cheering at the Zona game which shows me that they DID kick it into an extra gear. I guess time will tell as we see them face off against Chicago and others. If it continues, I say a big FU to every single one of them. Until then, hopefully they suck as much as we all think they do.
first off who is "we" I don't , in the mean time you can continue to stomp your feet, bang your chair, just don't put me in the "we"
thank you, thank you very much

No I didn't. Who else wore them? I know Weber's had the A lately, did Nolan take it away from him for crying about the fans?
yes I noticed, in post game interview, PK said it was Weber's idea for him to get the A, and in my humble unbiased opinion, he wears it well, good for him

The lesson learned here is to cheer for the opposition AT THE BEGINNING of the season.... get the players all fired up so they get themselves into a playoff position right out of the gate.
now that's a plan, not one I would support, but it has merit and logic, make every game like a away game, yes sir that's the ticket
too bad this plan wasn't suggested at the beginning of the year, oh well there is always next year
-
thanks you boys for a great birthday present
-
I agree but honestly it took a miracle to keep the Bills
a miracle to keep the Bills, maybe, but a big bank account didn't hurt either
-
I have been waiting three years to see Grigorenko to set up on the half-wall like he did on that power play.
Kid's got the skills.
put the puck in the net tonight would be a great use of those skills
-
RJ, decline the penalty, just priceless
-
one for the good guys

let the slobber-nocking begin

Tonight is a true test of how far gone some "fans" are. Rooting against the Sabres in a home game against the hated Toronto Maple Leafs? Any remnants of a hockey soul will be apparent tonight.
how true, a true test, will the fans be fools on fool's day and give the area another(neg) press subject or will they act like adults and not spoiled children, it will be interesting for sure

Murray can start kissing McDavid goodbye.
to love and lost, is always better than to have never loved at all
-
Nice job you jackwagons...
Now with Toronto next in full give up mode, we could find ourselves only 2 points back of the Coyotes with 5 games left...
Can't ever make things easy on ourselves...
F@#$!!
with total team effort, wouldn't that be Mr. Jackwagons, because they for sure earned it
-
What? You don't remember the bankruptcy? The talk of moving the team? You need to chill, sir.
how about the time the cup got stolen by Dallas with a goal, that wasn't a goal, now that was a stab to the heart
-
that was so sweet, empty net , put this one in the win column for the good guys
-
These guys are playing like it is game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals...
You KNOW Nolan and these players would LOVE nothing more than to give the fans the ultimate F-U and blow this whole 2 year plan.
I think we all know how this story ends. Only Buffalo sports teams can find a way to rip your heart out in a season when winning games should be totally meaningless.
Freaking unreal.... BUT I do have to give them props for creativity...
How can the worst team in hockey that has been totally hopeless for 2 years STILL crush its fans and tear their collective hearts out? Check and check!
Well done Sabres and Nolan! You know he is loving every second of this.
as I read this all I could do was stand and applaud , bravo boys, bravo, keep it up one more period and victory is ours
