  1. After reading comments from Risto and Reinhart and Okposo I do not know what to make of HCPH. The main complaint seems to be too much X and O and thinking. It seems to me they had the exact same complaint with the last coach. These guys need to learn how to play within a system and follow that system and if their skills do not match the system then they need to be moved or you need a new coach really that simple. It is up to the players to learn the system and figure out how their skill set fits. If a player takes it upon himself to freelance he may be improving his own statistics but the whole team suffers. I honestly do not know what the answer is but I sincerely hope that JBOT can figure it out.

  2. No not Larry. Just a lot big time fan sick of losing. We need young fast hungry players that want to win and that can play the system that their coach asks of them. Too much freelancing arrogant players that do not listen to leaders like Gionta and Gorges two cup winners. Time to blow up the core (including Larssaon)

  3. ROR is very smart and calculated. His agent and he came up with this brilliant ploy to get put on the trading block. No player that wants to play for a team with a losing culture and change the culture says that. He wants out out out! Look at Kane. ROR wants that. The point is that Risto and he do not fit Housleys’ system.

  4. ROR does not want to be here. He never would have said what he did if he wanted to stay. He is not the type of center Housley wants and Risto is not the type of defensemen Housley wants. If the two were not such highly paid then yes keep them but not at there current salaries. It sucks getting rid of high end talent but there talents are NOT for this system.

  5. ROR makes too much to be third line. I would trade him and Risto for the #1 pick and a top prospect if we lose the lottery. We can draft Dahlin and a top speedy wing/center and develop another top prospect and save a ton of cap space. Buy out Bogo as well. We need to drastically change the core if we are ever going to change the losing culture. I like Risto but he does not buy in to Housleys system and therefore must go.

  6. For the record, trading ROR would be a colossal mistake. He's everything you want in a 3rd line center... Eichel, Mittlestadt, ROR down the middle is how you build a Cup contender. That could be the best center combination in the league in the not too distant future.... you don't sacrifice that just because ROR has a hard time playing in a losing environment.

  7. Samson, Okposo, ROR, are only healthy true top 6 forwards. The rest of the forwards are all 3rd fourth line players at best. We have no true #1 defensive pairing analytically speaking. I am a huge fan but roster wise we are not a playoff team yet. When Kane and Jack come back we should be able to play competitive but no depth will hurt us severely.

  8. :w00t: It's funny when someone says that and then continues to read posts to see what people say about their departure.

Just having a hard time with all Nolan has gone through and how emotional he was to be here and to see him treated this poorly really makes me ill. You are right I should not look back.

  9. Grigorenko would need to be waived to go back. He's not clearing waivers.

(Starting next year. He can be sent down for the last few games this year)

I heard that Grigorenko went back to Rochester today. What does that mean next season if he is not ready for NHL and needs more development at the minor level we have to waive him first? That makes no sense. I believe you it is just hard to understand.
  10. IMHO, it was essentially guaranteed for this season as soon as Mezsaros and Benoit became "Messy Balls." Way too much cap space to not at least try to fill holes on D. They're adding 2 top liners on O & Girgensons. They'll upgrade G almost assuredly. Doesn't make sense to not upgrade the D too. (Be interesting to see what other upgrades on F are still in the works, though I'm pretty happy w/ what we'll already get up there.)

Grigorenko can't go to Ra-cha-cha. There are KHL concerns w/ dropping Zadorov to the A.

Why can't Grigorenko go back? The morning hockey hotline guys baker and Sylvester said (I think) that both could and it would be good for them.
  11. I expect Grigorenko, Zadorov and Reinhart will all start in Rochester. I am curious now if Murray who has shown the world he is the best tanker, does he know how to build a winner? Those three with 40 games in Rochester may very well develop properly. Let's hope.

  12. I am curious are these systems everyone is complaining about are they the ones you need when you severely lack talent or is this his MO regardless. I would like to think he has or is willing to either evolve into a more analytical coach or surround him self with the best people who are. Phil Jackson ran the triangle but never drew up plays. He was a motivator who knew how to blend talent into Championships. I would like to see Ted do the same. It is all a process. When you sign a 3 year deal the organization that is "rebuilding" or tanking should give you more room. As for a strained relationship with Tim Murray, if you want to win and your GM does everything to make you fail wouldn't you have difficulty with that. If Murray decides to try and win will he work with Ted or just sit in his lofty perch dreaming of Connor? If Ted goes than throw out Murray too and the amerks coach as well. If not than give Nolan a chance.
