It's time to start doing to Ottawa what they've done to us for the last 5 years.
No need to get pornographic here. It's a family board. ;)

Any word yet on who's between the pipes?

HD alert! For DirecTV subscribers out there, the game is being shown in high def on Channel 79 tonight. Excellent!
-
A 5-point night and a new car. Congrats, Danny!
FYI, the Stars' announcer is a tool. He mispronounced every other name he said.
-
Just noticed that DirecTV will be showing the game in HD on channel 95. That's cool.

Thank God for TIVO... :worthy:
No doubt. I saw 1:00 and thought :huh: ?

I was lucky enough to watch the game on Fox Sports South. The Hurricane announcers are HORRIBLE. Nice sweep of the Canes. It was nice to see the boys on TV again.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I disagree and thought the Canes' announcers were actually very balanced in their comments. Of course there was the "home team" slant, but both Forslund and Tracy were extremely complimentary of Buffalo and how the Sabres were taking care of the net in front of Miller while trashing the Canes for allowing the Buffalo forwards to set up and get at the rebounds Grahame was giving up. Forslund in particular also characterized the Buffalo D pairings as "underrated" and "as good as any in the league."
I thought Tracy was very accurate in assessing the play, noting that Buffalo was not "dominating" the game yet they were clearly winning the goaltending battle and, as stated above, working harder in front of both nets.
Believe me, I'm looking for any opportunity to trash these guys because the Canes have become a hated or-gan-I-za-tion to me, but the broadcast last night was not bad at all from a Sabre fan's perspective.
I think I'll pop the Sabres' flags on the car this a.m. to drive around town. :D

I'd REALLY like to get this win -- a cool 4-0 vs. the "champs" would be something to crow about.
-
This was a great win. I use the term "great" because of the circumstances:
-- Devils one of the hottest teams around, winners of 5 straight before last night;
-- Devils went into the game with the league's best home record;
-- it was a classic "offense vs. defense" matchup on paper that almost always favors the defensive squad;
-- as the Vs. guys said afterwards, the Swordsmen proved that they can play "more than one way" and showed a lot of grit defensively until NJ finally made some mistakes, and then the Sabres' speed capitalized immediately;
-- no Drury, no Teppo, and (of course) no Hank.
Outstanding effort.

Broadcast on Vs., so no Center Ice. Unfortunately also no HD.

Is there any chance Tallinder will be back by the end of the year? Is he at least skating since it was his arm that was hurt. I would not think it would take too long to get to game speed since he should be conditioning lower body this whole time - right??
I read somewhere over the weekend that he was doing just that. It shouldn't be long.
Truthfully, I'm just wondering why they didn't put the hardware in when he broke it in the Spring.
-
Does this mean that only Hank (edit: and Connolly) remain on the injured list?
-
Whatever happens...hell of a penalty kill there.
-
The game has gotten very chippy.
-
What's up with Max throwing his body around? Maybe it wakes these guys up (if he doesn't re-injure his shoulder).
-
That pretty much sums it up.
-
That really is a pretty pathetic thread. It's also pathetic that the <cough> Stanley Cup champs haven't sold out this game.

I only started watching about a month ago, and sped through the first two and a half seasons on Netflix and iTunes, but last week was the best show in a while -- perhaps since that Woodbury theme popped up.
It's about time they developed Michonne's character a bit; the "silent, staring, zombie killer" thing was getting old.
