We've all watched the last decade, there's nothing to deflect. Blaming the best player though stinks of ROR and how he was shipped out.

Ive not blamed Eichel, only pointed out, truthfully, that they’ve done nothing (over multiple seasons) with him. If you want to continue down that road, so be it. I’m bringing up an alternative. Change is difficult but often necessary.

Again, reality is reality. We all want them to succeed. We may differ on how to get there but we’re just fans, not NHL GM’s. Reacting with “troll” or “not making sense” implies you’re not able to have a lively discussion with different opinions.

Oh well. Outclassed by quite a bit.
It will take time for some of the young talent to mature. Next year won’t be too much better but perhaps close to making playoffs? Only time will tell. -

I know I’m new here, and I’m not sure what the average age on here is, but just for perspective I’ve been a fan since 1970. I’ve seen every Sabre. Some players are excellent but don’t fit the team. I think we can get more for him than what we accomplish with him. To me, I keep Reinhardt before I keep Eichel.
I know he’s loved by many on here but just food for thought.

Look how much better everyone looks away from Ralph. Frankly in retrospect it makes Eichel’s 78 in 68 look godly
MVP voting doesn’t help us in the standings. I’m looking at results.

I’m not saying Eichel isn’t good or doesn’t have skill, it just seems like it’s always the “system”. I’d rather get something for him and build off the young players.

- The team was 9-6-3 when Ullmark started. The magical Deluca line. It's imperative he stay healthy and they get a GOOD GK to start or back him up
- The team this year never had a healthy Eichel even though he played 20 games and McCabe their best defensive D-man gave them 13. Including Okposo's recent injury, they lost all of their lettered leaders (C-A-A) for basically 2/3rds of this season. An under the radar loss is Girgensons who if nothing else would have been our most physical forward by far this year
- They are 7-5-3 in their last 15 games playing all the young guys and supposed busts and they're all exceeding past performances
- They fired RK
- The young D averaging under 23 years of age actually look pretty dang competent and if they can move Risto for some forward addition, I don't think they'll miss him much on the back end and hopefully they will improve the top 9, I would have said 6 but unless they move on from someone there, I'm not sure there's an opening there besides Bjork and Olofsson may move into that spot if needed.
- If Mitts and Tage keep improving and I'm more and more optimistic on these guys heading in the right direction, that's a pretty good start of a line 3 because if needed Asplund becomes the line 4 Center.

I feel sorry for the younger players who are being let down by the veterans. They deserve better leadership.

This team is an embarrassment. Ownership should be, but isn't, ashamed of what they have created. I've been watching the Sabres since 1970 and have never experienced anything like this.

Agree. I’m personally against building a team around one player. Build a team.
