  1. Great.... why couldn't she of just taken it so we can get back to hockey. I'm so tired of this, just what Buffalo needs, our local home grown superstar to be a prisoner.... and the Blackhawks falling off a cliff.

Justice is great, but why must it take so freaking long. Maybe I'm just cranky from work, I don't know.

Maybe she doesn't want to be called a golddigger the rest of her life?

  2. Members of the media. Graham has implied he knows a lot more than has been reported, and I imagine some of the recent BN details are among the things he's talking about.

I know people who have known these things since nearly the beginning (not counting the detail that she may not have been the one that wanted to go, had never heard that before).

So, will things be coming out in drips for awhile?

  3. Yep, it hasn't been used much recently but we had received 3 new telescopes a few years ago so we decided to take them out and get everything going again, and are in the process of making the club official. Real exciting.

    Indeed, that IS awesome!

We got the SBU Observatory up and running again, this is Jupiter and four moons, taken just by holding a phone up to the lens. In person we could see the Great Red Spot and the weather/cloud systems. Awesome night.

That's from the Bona telescope?  I never even saw anybody go in that building.  I figured it never worked!

  5. I think that the real tragedy isn't in finishing last, but in the active pursuit of last place, to which end, they've been the biggest instigators for the last 2 seasons.  They were way ahead of 95% of the posters here, whom have since followed suit.  They consciously set the goal of finishing in last place.  It's a moral conundrum of their own making.  Now, they bite their nails, and say how stressful the situation is, without taking responsibility for the fact that they put themselves in this absurd position of their own accord.  They are the ones who have made it a monomania.  The truth is, you all could have been rooting for wins this whole stretch.  You're like Ahab and the White Whale.  This obsession is ultimately leading you to your own destruction.

    What?!?  The question is

Is anyone to blame if we don't finish last?
  6. Jeremy White, Mike Schopp,

    Totalitarian Instigators.

It wouldn't be half the controversy without those radio boys.

I was going to say Mike Harrington and some of the other hacks at the News.  They're the ones who made the Coyotes game 10x bigger than it was.  How would the GR guys have spurred this play on?

  7. I disagree that they tanked for OJ. '68 was the year of the disaster QB as 4, count 'em 4, QBs were lost due to injury and we had to resort to playing Ed Rutkowski as our disaster QB. We earned every inch of that 1-12-1 season.

Well, I was only 6, and it was my first year of being a Bills fan, but I remember exactly where I was watching that Raiders game.  And, my dad, aunt, and uncle, as well as me - were shocked they were beating the mighty Raiders but wanted them to lose.  And, Ed came through when it mattered.

Everybody wanted OJ.  And, a lot of people think that fumble was on purpose..............I read recently that it was a tank - but I think you're probably right.  They just lost when they had to.  In fact, we could use Harvey Johnson right now!  He came through with two #1 picks.

  8. The last thing I care about is the draft. I'm not incapable of learning patterns and as such, I know how drafts work. Guarantee this, guarantee that. There are no guarantees. Draft the player in the position that you're in and that's that. Scouting, management, and develop matter way more than draft position.

If I can get 2 points and make it tougher for my most hated rival to make the playoffs, I'm going to root for just that. And yes, I will remember beating the Bruins on March 17. Lindback's performance was memorable and if the Bruins end up missing the playoffs somehow, that game will be a major reason why. But hey, I value rivalry still.

Not quite sure why people laughed at me saying the losing on purpose crap has ruined sports in recent years. Is it because it's happened every so often throughout history and it's not such a recent thing? Sure. The Celtics in 1997, the Penguins for Lemieux, blah blah whatever. It has never been such a widespread cancerous mentality across all sports teams and fanbases as it is right now. Utopian "if you ain't first, you're last" garbage.

It's getting to a point where I almost hope both of these players bust just so sports fans can shut the hell up about draft picks from here on out. But I know that will never happen. Some people have just too much of a video game mentality for that narrative to die.

But hey, all this is just rehashed garbage. Same stupid argument that's been had all day every day for the last God-knows-how-many years on this board. What a ###### show.

I can remember the Bills tanking for OJ Simpson.  Nobody gave a when he was the biggest star in the league and the hero of my childhood.  That was 1968 when that happened.  Thank you, Ed Rutkowski!

This is the myopia I mentioned.

And, these two are not going to bust.

  9. I hate the tank. I hate everything about it. I would rather be competing for a playoff spotv and getting knocked out on the first round. But f me if your going to ram this shizit hockey up my ass for two years at least make it worth my while. Mitch Marner is not worth the crap we have had to endure. That is why I am pissed. I didn't want this horseshit in the first place.

Exactly.  I hated the idea for all of last season.  But, got on board this season...........To come this far, you have to be an idiot to now want stupid meaningless points.  I want to win a Cup.........Do the people who want points also think teams should go all out in preseason.  Play only roster players, etc.

  10. I dread that with my youngest dog, a German Shepherd mix. Sure, all our dogs were/are family, but Winston is more family than the rest, probably the best dog we've ever had (he even sleeps in bed with us most nights when it's cold). And right now he's in his prime (almost 4 years old). Not looking forward to his decline; he's such an awesome dog. The recently deceased Sugar was my son's dog and he was her boy. I'm sad at her passing, but I never felt as bonded to her as I am to Winston.

That's what I just went through. The "sister" of this cat died a few years ago, and it's the first time I had to put a pet down. She was always the weaker, smaller one, and I loved her even though she wasn't the friendly strong cat this one was........So, I was thinking after that - Wow, I can't picture this one ever getting that weak, but it hit me that it was inevitable.

I kind of obsessed about that type of thing for awhile, thinking when she'd jump up on me, etc. that she'll be gone in a few years, etc............And, then somehow I stopped thinking that and just said Screw that - she's alive RIGHT NOW and that's all that matters.

So, I guess what I'm saying is not to worry about about the inevitable. Winston's not, so enjoy every moment!+
