  1. My friend is accountant.  She does taxes.  Every tax season, she does not fail to mention certain thresholds for income, where one would increase their take home, by actually making less.

Last year, we were on brink of poverty.  This year, we do things right, make less, and get big reward.

I always want to tell my friend, that it would be better to be outright rich.

i would love to pay a million dollars a year in taxes

  2. All of a sudden Zack Kassian can’t miss

Six days ago, Zack Kassian was made a healthy scratch for the ninth time this season and it seemed a foregone conclusion he was not long for Vancouver, assuming Canucks GM Jim Benning could ferret out some semblance of a return in a trade.

Yada, yada, yada, Kassian scored his fourth goal in three games last night in Boston, helping the Canucks to a 2-1 victory over the Bruins.

  3. Assets: Has superior mobility for a big man, and he likes to rush the puck up ice. Owns a heavy shot from the point and sound offensive ability. Is aggressive and capable of shutting down opposing forwards, as well as play big minutes. Flaws: Needs to pick his spots better when going for hits and generally play with more discipline in the defensive zone. Is still a little raw in all aspects of the game. Expectations are high, but can he meet them? Injuries are also an issue. Career Potential: Talented all-around defenseman with good upside.

  4. Florida general manager Dale Tallon apologized to Buffalo owner Terry Pegula and general manager Tim Murray for the team’s pregame video on Saturday night.

The video interspersed scenes from Buffalo’s recent major snowstorm with those of the Panthers’ mascot fishing and doing other activities outside in the South Florida sun.

Pegula, who lives in Palm Beach County and recently purchased the Bills, was incensed as he spoke with Tallon about the video.

Over a dozen deaths were blamed on the massive snowstorm that crippled parts of the Buffalo area last month.

“People died in that storm,” Pegula was overheard saying to Tallon. “That’s not funny.”

  5. Zadorov’s agent, Rolland Hedges, would like his client to play at home in Russia’s Kontinental Hockey League, where St. Petersburg possesses his rights. The NHL, however, says Zadorov can play only for the Sabres or in the Canadian Hockey League. The defenseman and his KHL team may not sign off on a transfer to juniors.

“Is that part of the reason he’s here? Yes,” Murray said on his radio show on WGR-AM 550. “The only option if we don’t want him here is to send him to London. If we do that, does it become a long, drawn-out affair or is it a cut-and-dry thing? We’re not sure about that.

“If he decides not to go or the transfer agreement is not signed by the KHL team and him, I’m sure that the CHL will say, ‘He’s our property,’ and then there’s going to have to be some type of agreement come to between the KHL and the CHL. I’m sure that the CHL will involve the International Ice Hockey Federation in that.”

Murray has expressed frustration about Zadorov’s situation and Buffalo’s lack of control over it. So, the situation is as murky as ever.
