So the owners are smart making the football decisions and not smart making the hockey decisions? Because if they’re making the hockey decisions, it only makes sense that they are also making the football decisions.
You're missing the obvious that the same owners don't want to rob the cash from a successful football operation to fund a money losing unsuccessful hockey operation. Other than finally stumbling onto McDermott & Beane, Pegulas' business decisions have been questionable at best.

Daren Puppa?
He was actually smart enough to get in on his academics.

as just noted on a certain social media site, a certain local radio -- and sabres -- flagship station finds itself in a very tough spot with its relationship with the team. how wgr is citing "reports" of a deal being "close," and has done very little of it's own reporting overnight on this is a bad look and sound. to know and not report because of partnership rules certainly dents reputation.

Are you saying that the Sabres do have their media proxies?
-
The last time they got a top name in this sense may have been Gregg Williams when Donahoe was in town? And Rex actually has a resume.
Not quite. Greggo was a total surprise over the other name targets - Marvin Lewis & John Fox

@viccarucci The #Bills have "every intention" of keeping DC Jim Schwartz, just told by high-ranking team source.
Huh?
Thurman will probably replace Pepper as the DC in waiting
-
I blame Marrone & his cabal

 I suppose we could drop a few names, but that seems unsporting, doesn't it?
Just a tad.
A good week all around for GMTM, at least on paper.

Murray added the perfect player to make sure the room is being run the right way, even without wearing a letter. We will never see 80% of the stuff Gionta will do.
How do you know? :flirt:

You don't get it - hopefully your high school offers a course on critical thinking and debate.
You saying something doesn't prove anything. Someone else saying something doesn't prove anything.
you've got an opinion? good for you. Learn to express it persuasively.
Cute, weren't you the one bemoaning the part where people start calling each other names?
I'll pull out the high school text book chapter where people start making stuff up when they can't defend their position. We get it, you don't like the Moulson signing. You could have left it at that. But I guess your critical thinking acumen got the best of you and you tried to express it. Quite unpersuasively.
-
i didn't opine - you did. Just stop. Go back -re- read it all until you understand. Or don't. Either way, I really don't care.
And you refuted the source of my opinion, meaning you must have a better source than the unreliable Internets.
But since we're revisiting, let's recap:
Moulson's salary cap impact - Refuted
Moulson's soft play - Refuted
Moulson's small size - Refuted
Moulson's locker room influence - I guess we'll have to compare sources.
Got any other excuses for this apparently craptastic signing?

Get a real avatar and learn to think for yourself.
Sorry, the porn king of 70s is taken
Again, what makes you more qualified to opine on Moulson's leadership?
Is it the same set of knowledge that makes you think that he plays a soft game? Or that goals & points don't matter to a hockey team?
-
I didn't say he wasn't. blindly claiming he is, though, is weak sauce.
Blindly?
-
Ahh - you read it on line. good for you.
Then, I'll defer to your first hand knowledge of the Sabres' & Islanders' locker room culture.

we need to get to the floor this year, not 5 years from now. Pay him, or anyone, whatever you awant in the next 3 years. we may need that space in 5 years.
You know who provided a lot of points? Miro Satan - and he was run out of town as soon as a real leadership group showed up. Points are irrelevant to what the sabres are doing right now, and he won't be producing many points at 36 when points will matter. How do you know he's a great veteran presence?
Sorry that the Sabres don't share your enthusiasm for the race to the bottom.
-
yup. Yes he will dart in for a scoring opportunity but he is not a possession player capable of forechecking and playing a power game, which is the kind of team TM is building.
Sorry to be a pest, but if this is the team that GMTM is building, why did GMTM just sign a guy who doesn't do the things that GMTM want done?
-
... and he doesn't do anything in particular that I want the young guys to emulate.
Other than provide points, solid workman-like effort and great veteran presence?

What freebie high pick? If you trade from #2 to #3 what is Edmonton giving you? If I am reading the draft correctly Edmonton has the 3rd overall pick and then nothing until pick #91. Can someone verify that?
2nd rounder in 2015 would also work to swap spots
-
Why wouldn't the trade go the other way? If Sabres don't want one of those guys, why not pick up a freebie high pick to let Edmonton draft 2nd, and still pick the guy they want?
What does Jeff Skinner think about the signing?

Considering that Hall trains with Skinner in the off-season, and specifically cited the relationship as one of the reasons for signing with the Sabres, I'm guessing Skinner is not too upset.
