And THAT type of pit was not like that in the late 80’s early to mid 90’s when I saw Sick of it All headline shows about 8 times in those years. Playing to 100-300 kids/young adults. Very intimate. Very cool. Back when you can get on stage and stage dive (no jar neck security) into a cool group of fans after screaming lyrics into a mic that Lou stuck in your face for 3-4 seconds.

Like this one of many ...

I saw them in the early 90’s in Buffalo and you’re right, the pits were better then.

Didn’t the singer of Zero Tolerance get arrested for murder (or accused of it?)

  2. Murray traded away all the stockpiled assets from “the tank” and left this team devoid of talent outside the top line. I would have rathered sat through a long rebuild with young players developing, than how Murray tried to jump start the rebuild by acquiring Kane, O’Reilly and Lehner.

  3. The 92-93 season was a fun season. Lafontaine had 148 points [53G, 95A], Mogilny had 127 points [76G, 51A], Hawerchuk had 96 points [16G, 80A] and Andreychuk had 61 points in 52 games [29G, 32A] before being traded to Toronto for Grant Fuhr. It's too bad Hasek didn't become "the Dominator" that season that way we could have kept Andreychuk. IMO, the 92-93 team, with a dominant Hasek plus Andreychuk would have won the cup.

The Sabres ended up losing to the eventual Stanley Cup Champs that year [Montreal], each game was 4-3 (3 out of 4 went to OT).

Will we ever see a Sabres team that has two players with 100 points or more in a single season again?

Damn, that brings back some memories. If I'm not mistaken, I think Selanne had 76 goals that season with Mogilny? No doubt, the Sabres would have won the cup that season with Hasek when he was the Dominator.

To answer your question, I think Eichel has a good chance to get over 100 points. Maybe O'Reilly if Bylsma doesn't keep over-working him.

  4. Tim Murray stated he was not looking at a five year rebuild with this team as he traded assets to get players like ROR, Kane, Bogosian and Lehner to make the Sabres a better team sooner than later. So far, the results have not been great. Granted, the Sabres best player [Eichel] was out with a high ankle sprain to start the season and other players have had their share of injuries. Did Murray pull the plug on the tank job too soon? Should Murray have tried tanking for another year or two to be able to draft in the Top 5 for one or two more years? Should Murray have kept all of those draft picks instead of trying to accelerating the rebuild process?

I agree another Top 5 pick in the draft would be very helpful for the rebuild. But I think we have to be patient as rebuilds take time. The Penguins had five years where they finished between 58 - 69 points. Same can be said about the Blackhawks. I know GMTM was hoping it wouldn't take five years, but it looks like it's going to.

  5. Last night at my daughter's soccer game, I had 2 idiot soccer mom's screaming their heads off directly behind me, every second their daughter's were on the field. I have no problems cheering on your child, but have some decency and don't stand behind people and yell loudly.

  6. Idiots at the Potomac Mills mall taking up the whole doorway when I'm trying to stay to one side and they have the nerve to say "Excuse us".

The team across from me having a meeting/teleconference, talking so loud that you could hear them a half a mile away.

  7. That was the problem with Blair Witch. It had to sell itself as real to increase the fear factor. Once it was known as fiction, it really lost it's luster.

The 1st Blair Witch was terrible. The movie was 95% the 3 idiots lost in the woods yelling at each other, and 5% of somewhat scary material, in which was completely not believable.

I actually liked Blair Witch 2, it reminded me of an 80's horror movie.

  8. I could have told you it sucked. It was Blair Witch meets Godzilla. It gave me a headache.

Can't wait for the sequel!  :death:

I never take anyone's opinion on a movie for granted. I always rent a movie that I never seen before, if I like it, I'll buy it.

Speaking of terrible movies, we rented Jumper & Bugs. Both movies sucked. Bugs starred Ashley Judd, the only good parts of the movie was seeing her naked, that was it. The movie had a horrible plot, and made absolutely no sense.
