  1. Jerry Sullivan - why does anyone even bother?

This guy irritates the hell out of me. He's supposed to be a free lance writer for the News and cover whatever he chooses.

He has made it obvious that he dislikes hockey - listing it after the NBA, football, and baseball...saying that it's tough to watch a game of hockey. He has not written an article on the Sabres until yesterday - and then just to give us the same old ######...fire Darcy...fire Ruff...trade everyone.

Now I see that his opinions are being read by Lyle Richardson and mentioned in his daily column on NHL Rumors. These guys don't know that all he cares about is his precious NBA and could care less about the Sabres or hockey in general. He belongs in Atlanta, Phoenix, or Cleveland. I wish he would just go away.

  2.

Not as much as we cringe when we see

    Kulikov's name in your posts.

I'll say it...I never want another Russian on this team. For every Datsyuk there is a Afinogenov, Kalinin, Semin, Kryukov. Even with the best if the lot they are head cases. See Kovy & Ovie.

Are you really Don Cherry in disguise?

  3. Drew Stafford. My most hated Buffalo Sabre of all time. He received the torch from Dick Smehlik.

You obviously weren't around when Dave Schultz was a Sabre. I was embarrassed for the organization.

Well, all I can do is preach to the choir. I think with the impetus to improve pervading the fan base (and certainly the ownership), patience is in shorter supply than usual. I'll admit to that as well.

Last year I liked Roy a lot and felt his best days were ahead of him. I loved Ennis too - and his best days ARE ahead of him.

Now I'm ready to dump them both along with doorstops like Stafford. Include Pominville too - he's too soft to captain the kind of team I'd like to see challenge for the Cup.

I guess this "Let's have a Cup-contending team" energy is making me more impatient, along with some others here too. It's like, "Hey, if we're serious about being very good, it's time to dump the dead wood that's overstayed its welcome." I'm on that bandwagon because it is obvious to everyone that changes are needed.

  4. Buffalo Bills:

    Last winning season - 2004

    Last playoff appearance - 1999

Last home playoff appearance - 1996

    Last playoff win - 1995

Last AFC East Title - 1995 (Good Lord!)

Last Super Bowl appearance - 1993

Last Super Bowl victory - never

Last League Championship - 1965 (AFL)

    377-427-8 record

19 winning seasons out of 52 (a 36.5% winning record) (It's currently 51, but will be 52 seasons at the end of this season)

It's painful being an out-of-town Bills fan!!

Are you kidding? Why don't you post this on a Bills site? Of course they suck! Why in the world are you surprised? Did you just fall off the turnip truck? Did you finally realize that they have a history?

I just realized why you posted this here...no matter how bad the Sabres get they will NEVER approach that level of incompetence and ineptitude. Thanks for the reminder.

  5. I still don't understand why people care. It's completely meaningless. I never even notice the damn thing until people start mentioning it.

Actually I didn't even notice there was one until just now. I think I'll forget all about it in a minute or two.

  6. Summer Sucks!!! (yes, I know I'm repeating myself but it hits me every goddamned day)

Obama rolls over for the Republicans. Milk toast president. If Hillary were POTUS she would have said, "Look - you have two choices. A one sentence bill that says we're going to raise the debt ceiling into 2013 or the 14th Amendment. Take your choice." Case closed.

    If only...

  7. One of the best beers I've ever had was Charrington Toby...an English beer. That was many years ago but the last time I was in the UK I was in Scotland and they didn't have it. Didn't have time to get down to England on that trip.

Aside from that, Munich is a great beer city. Lowenbrau, of course, is special.

  8. I think you're the first person I've ever heard say such a thing.

You haven't seen my T-shirt "The Sun Is Trying To Kill Me" - I didn't create it, it was available so I'm not the only one who believes summer sucks.

I will get one made that says, "If you can see your breath, it's a good day." That I firmly believe.

    (62 days until Fall)

  9. yeah, that mailbox isn't setup. Right now, I have no idea. I'll what what I find.

    Any progress?

All I want to do is to switch my sign-on info from Netscape (which is no longer supported) to Firefox, my current browser. But I don't know my password.

Can you send the password to me? When I request it through the system, nothing happens. I can give you my email address.

  10. check your spam folder. I do not see any email errors and nothing bounced back, so they are going somewhere.

I have done that. Not there. Also email sent to thc300@xxxxx.com (which I got at your site) bounces back to me because the STMP server has rejected the address.

  11. I would like to change my password. However when I use help and click on the change password link I get returned to the Forum.

If I attempt to re-register, it says that it will contact my email within 10 minutes but nothing is ever sent.

Can you help with these problems?

  12. Anyone else catch the baby in the lion suit? I have a feeling that's going to end up being my highlight of the night.

Yeah, real cute...that is the best visual of the night.

Three guys they have to get rid of:

    Stafford

    Vanek

    Connolly

Start rebuilding from the remaining players.

  13. What a difference one night makes. It was the Devils minus Brodeur and Kovalchuk but they played with intensity and a sense of purpose tonight. It was nice to see Weber on the blue line. He looked pretty solid. Hopefully Vanek is starting to wake up. Good thing the next 3 games are on the road. This team needs to get some momentum before they skate at home again. Moral of the last 48 hrs: don't get too high, don't get to low. They will probably finish in 6th or 7th by the end of the year. Before tonight there was only 1 way to go and we started in that direction.

You thought Weber had a good game? I thought he looked totally out of place, nervous as hell. He was by far the weakest link in our defense.

Yes it was a reassuring win and no, I still wouldn't want Kovy in a Sabres' uniform - never did. Now Parise...in fact if I'm not wrong, we could have drafted him. Could someone check on that?

  14. Is your professed love of Kulikov fueled by your blinding hate of Kassian, or do you love Kulikov so much that anyone chosen in his stead is unworthy?

No, if Kulikov were in the minors now, I wouldn't say a thing. But I KNEW this guy was NHL material and was pissed as hell at Darcy for passing him by.

Before the draft had begun the word was that they would take Kassian. Immediately I felt this would be a bad move and was praying they wouldn't do that. But for them to pass up Kulikov in the process was unbearable. I threw my papers at the TV screen and turned off the set - first time I've ever done that in an entry draft, which is one of the top 3 sports events on my calendar. That's how pissed I was.

It was then I realized that they aren't serious about building a Stanley Cup contender. They simply want to put fans in the seats and I still believe that to this day.

  15. Since he's an offensive Dman with 0 points in 4 games, you may want to at least let it go until he starts producing. ;)

Ah, but what you said is the key..."until" he starts producing, not "if".

Does anyone doubt that he'd be our 6th Dman if he were on the squad? I don't.

  16. This will probably shock some of you. Glenn Beck has to be one of the most dangerous men in America right now. Some of the things he said this past weekend at the Mall in DC sent a chill down my spine.

Do what I do...don't listen, it's not worth the time or trouble.
