And the fact we don’t play hard is involved in this somewhere.
That was the raining part, lol. The missed penalties are just the flood damage.

So that's what, 2 goals that shouldn't have been scored due to missed penalties on Pit... and the no call on the double minor High Stick to Dahlin? When it rains, it pours.
-
Debating on even watching, not a warm feeling anticipating their 15th loss... at least they're consistent with something! 😵☠
But anything is possible right?

Anyone think the language had any part of it? 50/50? 🤔
Think the firing was a way to try and stave off the pitchforks and torches at the NHLs door from all the fairweather and less knowledgeable fans.
"Make up" calls happen and have happened for a long time, from the NHL to beer league. While not a surprise to most of us, it was probably fact that it was so well documented that lead to the firing.
Nothing shocks me any more after last year, I was just amused that it was actually caught by the mic and was heard.

OR ... he’s just. Not. That. Good. Maybe maybe maybe ... he carves out a few years as a decent NHL backup that hovers around .500 for a team. A good solid, deep, well coached team.
Or both?

It's like with Risto how even though he was a 5, 6, 7 year pro we talked about how he was "still young".
Funny, there was a probably a reason why that was.
Incompetent management probably, like we've seen the past 10 years.

Too soon? He’ll be 26 in a few months. Are we giving prospects until 30 to prove themselves?
Funny, I really didn't see him in the NHL until last year, in a team that defensively sucks... or sucks in general.

An average AHL goalie Who looks good on an NHL team… When the NHL team in front of him is better, deeper, and better coached then the previous team he was on… Boy what a revelation! Yawn.
Yeah, imagine that. Hmm... apologies for creating a discussion. Don't like it, scroll on and take a nap. 🤷♂️

Caught on the hot mic discussing how he wanted to give a makeup call...NHL is investigating...but only because he was caught and they need to pretend they don't condone this sort of thing...

Yup, happens at every level, just got caught and recorded this time.

Oh good grief
Just think think about it, we're on goalies 4,5 and 6, correct? A team like Colorado is looking for him to be a backup or 3rd... think about that.
Not good enough for us, but for enough for Colorado. 🤔

Yes. Its been a good one. JJ let in a so so goal to tie but stopped Kessel in OT on a breakaway
Sounds like we may have let another get away too soon... still to early to tell. Hope COL scores in OT as he's not great in the SOs.

I got my popcorn ready for this OT
Oh, so AZ came back? I had to go to bed, dang! Kinda pulling for JJ. COL is the team I feel could be on paper...

Hockey officials are morons. They really are.
McKinnon should definitely get 4, but that coyote should get 2 for the trip. If blood is reviewable, every part of the play should be as well.
I believe the trip is what CAUSED the "high stick", but I totally agree. That was poorly missed call.
7 minutes ago, Norcal said:Made me look. Good game
The beginning wasn't so hot, 2 goals in the first 4 SOG... but he got the butterflies out and once they started to score, he settled into the game.
It's interesting to hear them talk about him, how optimistic and positive they talk about him... just hope he wasn't another Lehner situation... but it's the Avs we're talking about here. They're no slouch.

For those interested and can watch it, he's getting his first start for COL tonight.
And he let's in the first shot that made it to him...

As a defenceman, any one skating towards my goaltender was either directed far wide or into the ice. Anyone trying to get to my goaltender ended up on his back with my knee in his crotch. I wasn't the skill guy; part of my job involved defending my goaltender at all costs. D-men pushing players into their goaltenders drive me nuts.
We need more players like you.

Because Risto is an idiot
Other then that, he's actually been decent this year. Sadly, he's been the only physical force on the ice.
But, I digress... in that play he was.
-
I didn't like how there was no one pulling the Ranger off Hutton and give him a little hell. I know it was self-inflicted.
As a goalie and watching games for so long, I don't know why Dmen push guys into their goalies like that, I've seen it so much.
-
Honestly, he's not looking too bad as of right now...
Houser next in line, I believe.
What a season this is turning out to be...
Oi!

So which is worse, being traded for a 6th? Or traded for future considerations?
I know the considerations can be conditional, but the fact the compensation isn't up front...

I've never seen a trade so public be so drawn out. Normally news drops minutes not hours before it is announced
Did the trade speculation and game postponement come out near the same time?
Could the deal be pending on COVID test coming back negative due to the possible exposure?
This season is going to be in the records for several reasons at this point.

In what way? Seems very straightforward. Houser is the replacement for Johansson.
Did JJ get hurt off ice? He wasn't at practice, and trade rumors are purely speculation at this point. Wasn't Granato tight lipped about it?
Is Linus out for the rest of the season?
The rumor about Col being interested in JJ has been circulating for a bit, so it's easy to put that together.
With the way last year went, what we thought the season would be looking at the roster, I'd say nothing is straight forward as it seems.

If the Sabres get a 5th round pick they should do an episode of Buffalo Sabres Embedded: 'How The Sabres Swindled A 5th Round Pick From The Avs'
Maybe it's a package deal, more then one player each way? The anticipation is growing.
Will admit, the Houser signing sets up some different angles of speculation.

I never want to be considered this unprofessional at my job. I thought he was just kidding around because the kid is just breaking into the NHL.
Well, it is practice... and with the way our defense, team as as whole have been hanging our goalies out to dry... it's not entirely his fault.
