Sabres fall further down the standings with sluggish showing in Philadelphia

‘”I just thought they came out with more intensity than us, more desperation,” Jack Eichel said. “From the first shift, I didn’t think we were ready to play.”‘

Sabres make Danny O’Regan, Tage Thompson eligible for AHL playoffs

‘Players had to be placed on an AHL roster Monday in order to be eligible for the playoffs. O’Regan, who was acquired from San Jose in the Evander Kane trade last February, had 18 goals among 34 points in 53 games with the Amerks and has played only one game with the Sabres since being promoted Friday.’

The Wraparound: Flyers 5, Sabres 2

‘Buffalo, which received 40 saves from Hutton, twice cut the deficit to one with goals from Eichel and Casey Mittelstadt. However, the Sabres made too many mistakes defensively, despite Montour making his debut following the pre-deadline trade from Anaheim.’

Three Pegula Sports and Entertainment executives out after latest shakeup

‘”Obviously, it feels like there’s a bit of instability there,” said Tim Maynes, an assistant professor of organization and human resources at the University at Buffalo.’

Flyers beat Sabres 5-2, keep slim playoff hopes alive

‘“We weren’t ready to go at the start of the game, for sure,” Eichel said. “You go down 2-0 that quick, we weren’t ready to go.”’

Parent company of Bills, Sabres shakes up executive staff

‘CEO and President Kim Pegula says the changes come after she had been “continuously evaluating our organizations” since assuming her current title in May. Pegula says the positions will be filled as deemed necessary.’

Sabres fall to the Flyers, 5-2, fall to 11th in the East

‘The third period saw an unfortunate moment for new Sabres defenseman Brandon Montour, who whiffed on a one-timer and the Flyers went back the other way on an odd man rush to pad their lead to 4-2. Travis Sanheim was the goal scorer who entered the play as the trailer to take advantage of the odd man rush. Claude Giroux would salt the game away with an empty netter to end the scoring for Philadelphia and ending the game with a 5-2 score.’

Sabres’ Montour and a decent debut

‘Overall I liked his game. Montour played 23 shifts for 18:11.He played 2:10 on the power play and 1:11 on the penalty kill.’

From the Locker Room: Sabres-Flyers

‘”I think it’s disappointing because this is a game of mistakes, yet we’re constantly making more mistakes than our opponents. That’s not our game.”‘
