Video can wait as Sabres head back to work

‘”I really wanted to get back to work today,” coach Phil Housley said after the team worked out for roughly an hour Saturday. “To me it’s a situation where we addressed it in the room. It was very evident when you watch the film although I didn’t show them the film. I don’t think it was the right time. I think more important is just addressing what has made us successful.”‘

Struggling Sabres trying to create better habits through practice

‘“The important thing was addressing what has made us successful, what are the areas of mistakes that we’re making?” Housley said. “If you watch the game by your own eyeball, it’s the concern of when the puck gets turned over, how we’re reacting to that.”’

Sabres waive Remi Elie

‘The Sabres claimed Elie from the Dallas Stars October. The former second-round pick played 16 games this season, including the last two, compiling one assist.’

Sabres place Elie on waivers; Maple Leafs waive Marincin

‘Elie was placed on waivers for demotion to the minors a day after playing a team-low nine shifts in a 7-3 loss to Chicago. He played his second straight game after being a healthy scratch in Buffalo’s previous seven outings.’

Sabres getting ‘back to work’ on Saturday

‘”You go back to early in the season, we’ve talked a lot about our checking detail and our identity. I think we’ve lost a little bit of that identity, but we’re going to get that back. I thought we had a good work day in practice today, addressing some of those things and getting back to work. Obviously the result last night was tough to take by everybody in that room. We’ve addressed it, but we can only control what we can control – how we work today, how we come to work on Monday, and try to put this one behind us and move forward.”‘

Sabres place Elie on waivers

‘If Elie clears waivers at noon on Sunday, the Sabres have the ability to send him to the Rochester Americans in the American Hockey League. Any team in the NHL has the right to claim him, but the Stars have first rights to claim him since he was their property at the time he was claimed by Buffalo.’

Sabres’ defenseman Zach Bogosian hosts Casino for a Cause II

‘”It’s important to show the people that are going through some rough times that people care about them. It’s not so much even just the money aspect of it, it’s the support, and the emotional side, too. It’s something my wife and I have enjoyed doing the past three or four years, and we’re going to continue using our platform to raise money and awareness,” said Bogosian.’

Sabres turn the page with high-intensity practice

‘”Obviously, the result last night was tough to take by everybody in that room. We addressed it, but what can we control? We can control how we worked today, how we come to work on Monday and try to put this one behind us and move forward.”‘
