Preds’ Hartnell on Antipin hit: ‘I wasn’t head-hunting’
‘”I wasn’t head-hunting,” Hartnell said. “We were leading the game at that time. Five-minute penalty and they score three quick ones, and that’s really ballgame. It’s unfortunate. I feel really bad about it. I didn’t try to hurt the guy. It was just kind of a hockey play. Those plays happen 10, 15 times a game. It was just an unfortunate accident.”‘
Sabres Notebook: Mittelstadt’s return sparks memories of Cup final visit
‘A little more than nine months ago, Casey Mittelstadt was a wide-eyed 18-year-old getting shown the red carpet by the NHL in advance of the draft. He was on the top prospects’ annual trip to Game Four of the Stanley Cup final and it landed him in the Music City.’

‘Sam Reinhart scored the first two, at 15:04 and 17:18, and Kyle Okposo tallied on a wrist shot at 19:00 to put Buffalo into a 6-4 lead through 40 minutes. Reinhart added another goal in the third period for his second career hat trick.’
Inside the Sabres: Junior Sabres making major statement
‘”What you’re starting to see now is really the work that’s been put in dating back to when this all started,” Adams said, “that approach that we looked at to say, ‘How do we really do something special? What does that mean? How do we lay it out?'”‘
Inside the NHL: Music City’s iconic draft still striking right notes 15 years later
‘It was here in 2003 that the most iconic entry draft in league history took place. It’s incredible to go down the list of selections — and not just from the first round — to see the impact they’re having on their teams with the 2018 playoffs looming.’
In Casey Mittelstadt, Sabres fans are given another reason to hope
‘Heading into their final five games, the Sabres (24-41-16) have a firm grip on last place with 60 points, five behind Arizona (27-40-11). If it takes a mini-tank, there can be no letting up now in the race to draft Swedish defenseman Rasmus Dahlin, this year’s uncontested top prospect.’
Sabres’ Victor Antipin ‘doing good’ after scary hit from behind
‘“We haven’t talked to our doctors, we’ll know more tomorrow,” Sabres coach Phil Housley told reporters following his return to Nashville, where he spent four seasons as an assistant. “As far as I know, he’s doing well right now.”’
