Housley liked the guy from his hometown, “He’s the pride of South St. Paul, but he’s a great kid and that’s why we signed him. He just brings energy, he works hard down there and he’s won some important games down there for them.”’

‘”I figured he was telling me if I was going to play the next day, so it was quite the pleasant surprise to get that,” Wilcox said. “Anytime you get a call-up to the NHL, you’re honored. Pretty cool experience. This is my third time and it still feels like the first time.”‘

‘Wilcox (6’0″, 189 lbs., 11/26/1992) joins the Sabres for his first recall of the season after signing as an unrestricted free agent on July 1. Currently in his fourth professional season, Wilcox has posted an 11-7-7 record with a .903 save percentage and a 2.82 goals-against average in 28 games for the Amerks this season.’
