There was a glimmer of hope that this year would be different from last. The Sabres have gone through almost every kind of adversity a team can, and they've been given every reason to fail. It's the perfect formula for a hard-working team with pride, but instead we get stuck with the Sabres team of present that many times doesn't know what the word pride means.

The Buffalo Sabres came home as vanquished warriors. They came home forlorn and downtrodden. They had left their homeland hoping to conquer lost territory, to make something happen to get their brethren excited and exonerating them again. Instead, the Sabres were slaughtered in every battle they fought. They were led by a modern day General Custer, Lindy Ruff, and his battle plans led to a deadly ambush.
'They've scored seven times in their last seven games. They haven't won in nearly three weeks.'
'As of Friday afternoon a little more than 11,000 tickets had been sold for tonight's game.'
Every empty seat is a vote against keeping this team, and the votes are piling up.
'Atlanta is 5-6-1-0 against the Sabres, including 2-4-0-0 in Buffalo.'
