Recalled Novotny close to making debut with Sabres

'Novotny joined the Sabres Saturday morning and had expected to take Drury's place in the lineup. But Toni Lydman's illness created a more pressing need on defense, so Novotny was sent back to the Amerks and defenseman Nathan Paetsch was promoted.'
