March 20, 1971

The Drydens, Dave (Sabres) and Ken (Canadiens), become the first brothers ever to face each other in goal in NHL history as Montreal beats Buffalo 5-2 at the Forum.

March 20, 1996

The Sabres trade forward Yuri Khmylev and an eighth-round draft choice to St. Louis for Jean-Luc Grand-Pierre and picks that they would turn into Maxim Afinogenov and Cory Sarich.

March 20, 2001

The Sabres shut out the Leafs at home, 3-0, for their fourth straight win. Dominik Hasek has to make just 16 saves, and Steve Heinze scores his fifth goal in his first four games as a Sabre. The first day of spring sees hockey fever sweeping Western New York: the Sabres have the best record after the All-Star Break in franchise history, the fewest goals against and the best penalty killing in the league to boot.
