  1. not sure if already posted, but ...

    ...from NHL.com...

"Briere tied it at 3 with his second goal of the game 8:37 into the third.

He got credit for his 18th of the season when Campbell's point shot deflected off his left skate and inside the left post."

uhhmm, no...it clearly went in off his blade after 98,000 replays and a call to toronto.

  2. Unless you guys saw an angle I didn't, the puck sure looked like it ranged off the post and never went in. Ryan never let it in.

just talked to my parents who had the MSG feed, and they're all hot and bothered that it didn't go in.

TSN-feed showed that it clearly did, but they reviewed to hear the timing with the whistle.

  3. Yep. The success early in the year was based on "try and keep up with us" now its "we can outskate you whenever we feel like it."

Likewise, even when we have four guys working hard and doing everything right, there is one &@##$ who doesn't do his job, makes a bad decision, misplays a puck, and screws the whole damn thing up. Just sloppy, lazy, complacent hockey by this team right now, and they need to get their collective heads out of their ...

exactly...i've found myself saying "wow, they've looked good this shift!" I'M EVEN LOWERING MY STANDARD OF EXPECTATIONS...WHAT THE HELL IS THAT???

    82 games...i know, i know....

  4. Danny

    Hecht

    Miller for me.

I thought Kalinin had 3 pretty bad give aways. The first led to the first goal.

I really do like Tree, but man, he seems to be the the kid in the dance hall that

knows all the steps but doesn't have the rhythm .

Overall this was a solid, workmanlike road win. Not too sexy, but never in doubt.

Jochen played really well....OTHER THAN the first-goal-turnover...

  5. My quick thoughts:

    * Chris Drury - with the way his luck has gone the last few games, no one would have thought twice if he would have tried to force a shot at the EN, but he still passed it off to Hecht, and made sure the team got the insurance goal to knock the Canes out. As if anyone needed any more evidence that Drury is a truly unselfish player and a true team leader...

    * Erik Cole - what a frigging joke. Everyone felt bad for you after Brooks Orpik broke your neck last year, Erik - now it looks like you are just as big an a$$hole as anyone in the league, short of Darcy Tucker...

    * Finally - no B.S., no hyperbole here - this may have been the worst officiated game I have seen since the lockout ended. Guys going down all over the ice, getting run, roughed up, interfered with - but as soon as someone's stick goes horizontal all the whistles come out. Plus, how the hell can there be four officials on the ice and they miss a high sticking call?

well put, cole is a complete a$$hole...i'd have a hard time cheering for the way he played tonight even if he were on my team.

  6. I went to the game tonight...I had a lot of fun. Just some random thoughts.

Corp, I agree about Marty. He got the job done tonight. I think he'd really like to have the 2nd one back, but he also made some key saves at key times.

I thought Stafford and Paille looked great tonight. I was happy to be there to see Stafford's first NHL point.

Briere had the game we have been waiting for.

At the beginning of the game it really looked like the Rangers were not at the same level as the Sabres. The march to the penalty box kind of changed that. It wasn't as apparent late in the game, but I would have to imagine that the Sabres were pretty worn out at that point.

Stafford looked REALLY good on the play with Briere that Weekes absolutely robbed...should've been his first goal.

  7. Tonight's game was everything last night's wasn't. At even strength, the Sabres were better than the Rangers. We played in the penalty box most of the second. In fact, the second belonged to the Rangers; we were fortunate to get a goal when we went on the PP. Rangers went ahead 3-1. Sabres worked it back to 3-2 and tied it 3-3 in the third and won it late in OT...

I think that this was the best game we've played (full stregnth only) since Philly. Penalties kept the Rangers in it tonight except for their one/two good lines late in the 3rd.

    Good stuff tonight
