LOL HA!!!! They are freaking everywhere..... Took my pup outside and she runs loose. I called her, i thought she had a stick in her mouth, it was a deer leg!!! Now i know what the turkey vultures were circling for!!!

NJ is one of the nicest states to hike on the Appalachian Trail.  I loved Jersey and NY on the trail.  Wilder than people think.

They had 22 shots but 15 were scored as high danger chances for the Kraken.   The Sabres, with all their shots and all their firepower, had 12 high danger chances.

The Kraken were allowed to play in the slot, near the crease, and in places where the dirty goals are.  Just like the Flyers did the night before when UPL gave up 4 to a weak offensive team.

Comrie's first game back was not great, but not bad either.   I see nothing with him that makes me think we found a #1, he will probably be the backup next season.    Sure, we could have used a few big saves, but he is not the reason they lost.  The Sabres win and lose as a team.  They are a team that is not very steady in their own zone.

First and foremost, high danger chances are subjective and usually compiled by truly awful websites like natural stat trick.  It's not nearly as big a joke as expected goals for, but it ain't great.  Do you know if they count the posts we hit as high danger chances?  Maybe, maybe not?  I was sitting 20 rows up in section 116 all night.  The Sabres were the better team, but they got Comried.  Goal 1 and goal 4 are saved by good goalies every night in the NHL.  Every night.

Don't get me wrong, they also got Lyubushkined too.  He's been awful except for two hits he threw in the first week of the season.  Goaltending is so much more of a problem than bottom pair defense though.  Not that there's anything we can do about it except pray for UPL.  Comrie's career speaks for itself, and we don't have Hellebuyck to play 65 games.  If their plan is to have this bum around next season for 30 games, then they have learned nothing from 3 seasons of miserable goaltending (and that goaltending 100% costing us the playoffs this season, arguably last season too).

But, hey, Matt Savoie will be here in 2 years.  That's important.

The biggest problem with the team is they are NON PHYSICAL! We cannot handle physical teams, especially ones that forecheck hard. Bush sucks and is now a liability and you do not want your best defenseman running around trying to lay people out. We will not win against the Jets and Preds as they are both physical heavy forechecking teams. We will play well as they can but we are a talent based team, not a physical team. Need to find that middle ground of talent and physicality.

The biggest problem with the team is the AHL goaltending.

  4. Paul Hamilton and The GR post game can defend .817 save % Comrie all they want.  The first goal was hot garbage.  The puck was deflected 10 feet in front of Comrie who had as clear a look as you could want.  Further, it was slow, but not as slow as Comrie's awful reaction time.  The 4th goal was also trash.  Meanwhile, the Kraken goalie makes a blocker save on a Tage one timer.  Good NHL goalies make great saves routinely.  That's what they do.  It's what UPL did for about 6 games in row.  It's what Anderson has done in most of his starts this season.

    We scored 3.

    We outplayed Seattle.

We gave up a whooping 22 shots.

    We lost.

F U, Comrie.  I don't want to see this bum polluting our net anymore.

Do I think UPL should stay? Yes. But Adams still has the mindset that this is a building year and that they aren’t ready to compete for a playoff spot.

Disagree slightly.  There's simply no way humanly possible to have watched this team and think they aren't ready to compete for a playoffs spot.  That position is a denial of reality and a misinterpretation of what Adams says.  He is identifying the core of a Stanley Cup contender (something the Leafs have yet to do).  He has never said they aren't ready to compete for a playoff spot.  There's many a slip twixt a cup and a lip and a large gap between playoff contender and Cup contender.  As long as UPL is playing and winning games in Buffalo he isn't going anywhere.  Vinnie Hinnie will not have a problem clearing waivers, and, frankly, who cares if he was claimed?  He's not been missed in the lineup, and we have more young forwards in Roch than you can shake a stick at if the need arose.

The entire fanbase would be justifiably shocked and outraged if UPL were sent down.  Now, if he came out and layed 3 eggs in a row that sentiment would change, but Comrie looks like hot garbage.  Adams isn't going to let him play unless he has to.

  6. Stay away from Reavo.  He will murder anyone on our team.  Dahlin especially.  Don't F with this guy.

Outscore Kaprizov.  Highly unlikely we keep him off the board.  He is as legit as they come.

Come out fast and blitz them.  It's about a sell out tonight.  Feed off of that, and get two early goals.  Get the Wild chasing the game, and don't let them settle into their game.

    6 - 4 Sabres.

Tage, Dahlin, Skinner, Cozens, Krebs, Skinner

Best case scenario... they stay completely healthy, especially on the back-end, and goaltending steps up, they could be in the wildcard mix at the end of the season.

But if one of Thompson, Dahlin, Samuelsson, Tuch, Cozens, etc.. go down... there just isn't enough depth there yet to fill those voids.

If Pit loses Crosby how's that going to workout for them?  It seems pretty clear to me as soon as we started getting a save % above .900 on a regular basis we become a 100-point pace team.  Believe it or not, we're in a playoff race right now.  If we win the next four games (all at home) we'll have sole possession of a playoff spot at the end of the 4th game.

  8. Edmonton and Vegas took care of business in regulation.  We can't ask for much more than that.  Heck, even Seattle chipped in and whipped Toronto.  Ware our coming schedule.  Minnesota is hot as a firecracker, the lowly Flyers are on a four game win streak, Seattle has a better record than we do, and so does Winnipeg.  Doesn't matter.  We need at least 6 of those 8 points, and I want them all.  I'm tired of the home record.  The only way to fix it is to start dominating in our building.
