You make a good point but how many of our young players can we expect to actually reach Tage's ceiling? It's rather odd in a way but in most instances the knowledgeable fans here are much more aware of the abilities and potential of the young guys on the team than most of the so called national experts. We generally like our guys. As far as our evaluations go, they need to be tempered with the fact that we are also homers. Tage is showing that he is elite. Tuch is showing that when on a line with top players he is not out of place and is worthy of #1 line status. The whole 2nd line and 3-4 of our defensemen have the fanbase salivating. The rest of the league isn't going to get overly excited by players who haven't put up more games than what these guys have. Any other team is going to choose Tage for his high floor and ceiling and marvel at his long term team friendly contract. The first choice would be between him and of course Dahlin who is the kind of defenseman that is just not easy to find and one worthy of building a team around.

Dahlin can take care of himself. I don't need to waste a roster spot on John Scott.

Kyle is the 4th line rw, reeves is a 4th line rw. It's breathtaking how dense you'll act at times.

What's reeves going to do when he only plays 10 min a night at gets caved in? Threaten to fight some one? 1990 called and they want their takes back.

    Lol

Buddy go get some rest, I'm worried about you.

So why are you against saying TNT is a superstar? If you dont care about individual accomplishments, then that shouldnt matter.

because Im sick of getting excited for having "SuPerStaRs" and nothing comes out of it. Same thing with Eichel. The team gets off the hook for being mediocre at best.

He will have over 100 points this year. Likely significantly more. That's a superstar no matter how you want to measure it.

He is 8th in the NHL in goals since the start of last season...the 4 players behind him are Pastrnak, Connor, Tkachuk and Stamkos.

If we just look at the last 82 games, Thompson rises to 5th. Directly behind him are Draisaitl, Pastrnak, Stamkos and MacKinnon. He averages over 2 minutes less icetime than the 4 players ahead of him. In terms of goals/TOI, Thompson is 3rd behind Kaprizov and Robertson.

Seems we have another incessantly negative poster who has to argue that a player actually isn't that good because he isn't the best player in the NHL. I mean seriously?

I am saying this in as nice a way possible, but dude...go kick rocks.

Im just not as interested in individual accomplishments as you. Cup or bust.
