I am fine with a major trade and I may even be hoping for one that includes one or 2 of Reino, ROR and Risto, but I don’t want to trade Eichel.
FWIW, I kinda think JBott will be discussing deals involving Reino and/or Risto this summer.
I love the way you deep thinking hockey fans, who probably buy Sabre jerseys and go to the games no matter what, give the players little nicknames!!!
That helps you build a bond with them - a personal bond - even if they are little kids skating on ice for millions of dollars! They are the ice capade stars of your generation. It really isn't hockey anymore.
The people that know the game - - the deep, gutsy, hard part of the game - - realize Eichel isn't the guy! Do you??

Eichel will never improve. There are 65 players right now in the NHL with more goals than him! He's got the 'kid' mentality - the spoiled kid mentality - and can't lead a team. I don't think he's the guy that will walk up to a new, established player that joins the Sabres and shakes his hand and says - - "let's get this team going" ! I doubt that very much!

It seems that this thread was just some kind of drive by random thing by a rookie around here.
So, if it is a legit proposal and some thing else ...
After management decided to stick it to the fans and be absolutely terrible for 2+ years that has turned into 5+ and counting, if they trade the player that was the direct result of all that then they should anticipate rioting in the streets and the burning down of the arena.
That's all.
I'm really not a "rookie" at all. I followed the Buffalo Bison's of the AHL in the 50's and went to the first Sabres game vs. Montreal in 1970. If I'm a rookie - I'm an old rookie. Jack is NOT the guy to build around. He's the best we have right now - but - -watch him give up on so many plays and dog-it regularly. Maybe some of the problem comes from him - maybe? Don't trade him for draft picks - - get a few SOLID NHL players and dump the fakers on the roster. GO SABRES!

And right there, lies the hope for next year. If we can replace placeholder players with callups like these guys, we'll be a playoff team next year. No disrespect to Pouliot or Wilson or Nolan or Josefson, but most of their slots need to be filled by up-and-comers like Baptiste-ERod-Bailey for the Sabres to take the next step.
WHAT NEXT STEP??? Are you delusional? They are in last place with the players they have and truly stink. Do you think they'll get 20 more points with the players you mentioned? They are AHL starters at best.

I love Buffalo Sports teams - including the Sabres. BUT - do you know how humorous you ALL sound talking about this gang of low talent, low achievers stealing money from true hockey fans. It's an embarrassment.
You basically enable these men that can skate and shoot a puck to feel they are a big deal. They aren't.

Trade the kid! He can't make this team any better with a few new players around him next season. He IS NOT that guy!

Maybe next year. He’s on an entry level contract this year scoring a point per game, so you’re wrong.
A point a game sounds "cute" but he isn't a leader and how many points come on empty net goals.

I think this group does really hustle and give their best in games - contrary to what the local media seems to state. The problem is that their best is way below the NHL average. It's a weak and uninspiring line-up and that's the bottom line.

I think there is some revisionist history going on here. Every thread last year, every thread, was a Bylsma bash.
I'll contend that that 5-6 points was made up for by his "conservative" system giving us some games we wouldn't have had given that roster. See, this tango is fun.
And our AHL defense right now has me holding off on truly judging Phil.
Although,... Jack and Evander still taking up the same ice has me wondering.
no coach can win with the last 6 on offense. They are AHL quality.

Guhle and Pu are not saviors. I'd be surprised if they had long NHL careers.
I agree! Fans are dreaming about them. We've only have 2 lines of quality NHL players and zero goal keepers. TRADE!

Down 3-0 after 10 minutes into the game against a team with just 4 more points than the Sabres??? It's about toughness and grit. So much stick checking. Housley may go soon - - that's his style of play.

I don't even know what to think at this point...I don't care bout new systems, these guys look like they have never even played hockey before. What system tells you to pass the puck directly to the other team repeatedly and then ignore basic fundamental hockey on odd man rushes against?
By far the best player in the first 3 games has been the one everyone seems to want to get rid of in Evander Kane.
None of what we have seen in the first 3 games has to do with system it has to do with guys having their head up their @ss...
These players should be embarrassed for receiving a paycheck for what they have been doing. Time to grow up.
They don't appear to be upset or embarrassed at all. Hockey games in Buffalo have become just entertainment and not a competitive sport!
Hockey in Buffalo is just an entertainment venue. Like a movie or a night at Shea's. It's not a sport anymore.

Which proves the point of MY entire thread - - Eichel has nice hair - - but - -he's a man-child! That's it! Not a true leader. A pimple face kid with millions of US dollars that doesn't want to be offensive to team mates that don't hustle or work hard. Good Luck Sabres with this guy!!!
