  1. No, you're not the only one.  Rebound control especially is much better with Nilsson.  It seems like shots either bounce off him and into the corner, or they drop right in front of him and he or a defender can deal with it.  With Lehner there seems to be more of a tendency to kick them right back out into the slot.  And as others have said, Nilsson seems to move more efficiently in that he doesn't overshoot his position on a save and is more likely to be in better position to stop a potential rebound.

And right now anyway, Nilsson just seems to be luckier.  There was a point blank shot yesterday that the NBCSN crew gave high praise to Nilsson and even showed what a great job he did using a replay.  And on the replay it's pretty clear the puck never got to the crease; it hit Bogo in front and caromed into the corner.  With Lehner's luck lately it would have found a hole through Bogo and would have gone into the top corner, or it would have hit Bogo and bounced right back to a Ranger in the slot.

He beat the Rags twice.  What about the Rags says "easy"?   They're in s solid playoff position.

Actually, I was talking about his puck control behind the net. He stops dump ins, it seems to me, way more often than Lehner and looks to me like the better passer to his defensemen. This means the Sabres are better able to get out of their own end when he is in net. He is an asset on the ice for puck movement. Lehner looks glued to the crease.

  2. I've only recently discovered how good whiskey can be. I've been a beer drinker ever since college and rarely touched liquor until my wife decided to get me a mini bar for my 40th birthday. Now I'm into Jameson, Jim Beam, and JD. The guy at my local liquor store recommended something called Eagle Rare, which is a Kentucky-style bourbon whiskey...very tasty.

That said, I don't drink this stuff straight. Of course, I've tasted them straight to compare, but I prefer to mix it with something...ginger ale, soda, something.

Any recommendations for a good Kentucky bourbon/whiskey? I like the Eagle Rare, but I'm looking to try others.

Eagle Rare has been a favorite of mine for quite awhile. I discovered Wathan's about 4 months ago and now consider it my favorite (in the same price class). Blanton's beats them both BUT for an extra $10-$15 maybe not worth it but, if you catch B's on sale, give it a try for comparison.

  3. This topic got too long for me to read every page so let me state that this is in reply to bourbon drinkers and not scotch. I have tried scotch several times

and simply do not like it.

Bourbon is now made outside of kentucky - I have tried a few of those (such as MacKenzie) but I did not like those either.

Kentucky Whiskey (bourbon) is my thing and I have gradually been expanding what I have tried.

A few come from the same distiller (such as Buffalo Trace which is good and Eagle Rare which is one of my favorite. I have not found a bottle of 17 yet only 10)

Blanton's is good but at ~15 more than Trace and Rare, I doubt I will buy it again except on sale. I am currently drinking Angel Envy - very good but not better than Eagle Rare. Woodford is fine but overpriced. Maker's and Bulliet are both drinkable and the cheapest in the group. Weller's and Weiler's are also fine but just not as memorableas the others.

I also recommend people try Rebellion. I can get it for ~28 at times but it can go as has as $35.

One very drinkable and cheap bourbon is Rebel Yell. Less alcoholic content (and younger) than all the others but surprisingly good when you want to drink

something without breaking your wallet too wide open. 'course one can always drink Jack Daniels but that is not bourbon - its sour mash.

I have also tried Knobs Creek - which is fine but not worth the money IMO.

So, my favorite is Eagle Rare.

    Happy sipping everyone.
