OK.  There was a reason for them calling it interference rather than a cross check as somebody else had pointed out.  Doesn't change the fact it was actually a cross check in the back.

And the specific minor penalty called doesn't change the validity of ANY of the information in the post you quoted.

Not arguing with your post, just clarifying what the call was on the ice. It was a cross check but the ref called interference.

The maximum fine ISN'T $5,000.  It is 50% of a single day's salary.  BUT a 1st fine can only be $10k or less.  (Fines of $5k or less have less hurdles to climb to implement.)

Players can be fined OR suspended.  If they are suspended, they sacrifice their pay while suspended.  1st time offenders sacrifice a day's pay for each game suspended.  Repeat offenders lose a game's pay for each game suspended.  (So 1st timers lose ~1/187th of their pay for each game suspended and repeat offenders lose 1/82nd of their pay for each game suspended.)

Fine money and suspension money go to the players emergency assistance fund.

2 minute cross check was called.

2 minutes for interference was actually the call

Part of the lore of those being great jerseys are that we were wildly successful for the 10 years we wore them. Down right elite.  A Stanley Cup Final, 3x Conference Finals, and a Presidents Trophy

At its core the blue and yellow with the swords rock. But that decade in Sabres history was close to as good as it gets. Because of that I’ll always be a fan.

I also love that the current team plays like their hair is on fire in them.

They actually won the President’s Trophy in ‘07…the first season back in blue and gold (slug jersey).

Essentially the top one has no room in the stomach area for me. The 50 feels better through the chest and waist, but the last thing I need is for the arms and torso to be even longer.

Honestly, if you get the sleeves hemmed the 50 doesn’t look bad.

I really hope it's a bootleg thing.  The thought of officially team licensed jerseys not getting the color correct really makes me cringe.  The lack of the embroidery on the buffalo is kind of a crappy move for the replicas, but getting the color wrong would take that to a whole new level.

Typically, the most noticeable differences between the replica and authentic retail jerseys are:

Sizing:  Replica (L) vs Authentic (52)

Fight Strap:  Replica (none) vs Authentic (sewn inside)

Customization:  Replica (Heat pressed numbers and crest) vs Authentic (Sewn on)

Weight:  Replica is a lighter weight material than the Authentic

Tagging:  Replica (Fanatics tag on the outside) vs Authentic (No Fanatics tag)

50th Anniversary Crest:  Replica (As mentioned, no texture) vs Authentic (Embroidered like the on ice product)

While the quality may be different, the colors should be the same or very similar between the two.

Bootleg jerseys will attempt to replicate the Authentic (Sizing, Fight Strap, Sewn, Etc...).  As far as how they look, YMMV.

It’s an arm length thing. The sleeves on the smaller sizes are just so incredibly long.

I usually have the opposite problem with buying shirts where the sleeves are too short.  I know it's an extra expense but going to a quality tailor to get the arms hemmed should be a simple fix.  I own some game used jerseys where the players have had this done.

So, I got a couple sizes in last night. I can confirm these are WAY slimmer fitting than the old boxy Reebok. They are also a bit of hour-glassed shaped. I guess that is meant to fit closer to the waist and then flare out over your hockey pants. If you have a gut it's not the best fit. Also, the sparkly gold sort of falls in the "how do you feel about pink shirts" category. It's certainly a fabric most guys will be wearing for the first time.

Personally, I've found buying one size up fits best.  I'm 6'2" and say 200 lbs depending on what I had for dinner.  In my everyday life I wear a size L in most shirt styles (I like a more fitted look) which equates to a size 52.  With the Adidas jerseys I'll buy a size 54 (XL).  It's a little loose but I'm not swimming in it.  It also allows room for a sweatshirt or jacket underneath.  The players probably wear 2 sizes up on the ice to account for pads (granted they don't have guts).  E-Rod is listed at 5'11" 184 lbs but wears a size 54 on the ice.  Eichel is listed at 6'2" 203 lbs and wears a 56.  Risto is 6'4" 220 lbs and wears a 58.  Hope this helps.

I have to say, this is one of the more odd exchanges I've ever seen on here.  I guess everyone has their thing, but I never would have expected to see two of them.

Definitely.  Luckily I'm married as I don't think this would make for great first date banter.  However, some people may care to know if the $200-$300 jersey they just purchased is the same as the players wear while others couldn't care less and are happy to save money on one purchased from DHgate.  Others may just want to know how the new jerseys fit in comparison with ones they bought back in 2007.  Don't even get me started on customization.  There's a big difference in buying the same customized jersey from the NHL shop versus the Sabres directly or a site like Ice Jerseys.  I'll stop there before you have me committed.

TheI Indo-Edge was Reeboks retail authentic made in Indonesia, not Canada , starting in 2011. They had the lime green neck tape on the inside.

True, I forgot about those. Reebok’s were made in Canada between 2005-2010. Adidas purchased Reebok in 2006 and started putting their name on NHL jerseys during the 2017-18 season.

No need for the quotes. They are the real deal.

Yes and no depending on how technical you want to get. Prior to Adidas taking over a couple years ago, retail authentics and game worn jerseys were basically the same. Same shape and weight while both were made in Canada.

Now Adidas sells the Adizero jersey as the retail authentic which they make in Indonesia.   Player worn jerseys are still produced in Canada. The Adizero retail jersey is a lighter weight material with a more tapered fit than what the players actually wear.

If you bought an authentic prior to 2011 it would have a boxier look as they were sized as if you’d be wearing pads. The new ones are made to fit more like a sweater true to size. In many ways they fit better but they are not the same quality that same quality as the older CCM/Reebok’s. That’s also reflected in the fact they actually dropped in price from the Reebok days.

  11. www.icejerseys.com still has the authentic Eichel on sale in most sizes for $228.90. They also have blanks in most sizes that they will customize for $49 with a sale going on today.  They’re out of Canada and their customization is top notch. Free shipping and no tax too.
As mentioned earlier, true on ice jerseys that the players wear are still made in Canada and when Adidas took over they they started making the “authentic” in Asia (lndonesia I think). They’re a little lighter weight than the on ice jersey but size similarly and have the fight strap.
