Not only did it help us get Dahlin, but it will allow us to sign him long-term for less than he's worth. We may get up to 8 years of 2018 Reinhart, and I really believe that's just his new floor. Very high ceiling.
He needs to be a motivated and happy camper for a long term deal . I like bridge better , too many past deals went bad.

Have to agree with Murray and expect picking 2nd even if last. Do not plan on getting Mc David next year even if we finish 30 or 29. If we won the lottery great put can't bet on that happening.

My goodness. I know the sabres want best player available but I just cannot justify why we'd pick ekblad with this kind of futility. We have forward depth in the ranks what we need is top end skill and finishing and the only way to get that (most the time) is this high up in the draft
If the Sabres took Ekblad as BPA they could always trade him

Nolan has them motivated after all the stress of trades is over for now. Sometimes the underdog bites. This will sell tickets better then the tank. I think we can forget McDavid unless we can trade up next year.

I agree, if Nolan is not comfortable here, someone else will be. I like Murray, so far so good.

Haylak is a good goalie at 28, hope we can sign him long term. Ott is a FA at the end of this season if he wants to come back here. Great job by Murray ! Hope Miller signs with the Blues beyond this season, would make the 3rd pick into another 1st if I read it right.

If the trade deadline passes and Miller is still here and refuses a new contract, play Enroth full time to get experience and see if he could be a #1 GT. Other teams know what Miller is capable of already.

Rangers will trade him rather then let him walk away for nothing if they can't resign him. I would take him and keep Ott and Moulson, skip tanking next year. Oilers rebuild is not fun.

Philadelphia Flyers forward Steve Downie was taken to a hospital with a concussion sustained during a 7-0 loss to the Washington Capitals on Friday.
Downie, playing his first game for the Flyers after being acquired from the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday, was injured during a fight with Aaron Volpatti late in the second period. He received a minor for instigating, a fighting major and a misconduct.
General manager Paul Holmgren said Downie was taken to University of Pennsylvania hospital for tests and observation.
Center Vincent Lecavalier sustained facial injuries and may have lost some teeth during a third-period fight with Steve Oleksy.
Holmgren said neither player will take part in the Flyers' road game against the New Jersey Devilson Saturday.

We over paid Vanek and he still didn't want to be here. Moulson has similar stats for a lot less pay and wants to be here from a suburb of Toronto, plus we get a 1st and 2nd. Great job by Darcy. Now sign him long term (Ott also)

Terry has the will and enough money to get it right. The quick fixes when he bought the team didn't work . Now he is rebuilding from scratch with youth. I do feel bad for season ticket holders, hope Terry can ease that pain .

In the long term Terry Pegula will succeed, no doubt about it. This is his team starting over from scratch. I doubt if Vanek or Miller will be here after the trade deadline. Myers stays because of his big contract, hope he improves.
