It makes sense that Brian knew Tim overvalued Lehner and took advantage of it. I find it extremely hard to believe that there was another team out there willing to give Ottawa anything close to what the Sabres did. Brian took Tim to the woodshed and gave the boy a whooppin on this one.
I wonder what Terry thinks about the fact that his brother took Timmy to the cleaners??

So ultimately, we traded Vanek for Moulson, Lehner, Legwand, and a 2nd round pick... I thought looking at it this way would make me feel better about the trade, but it doesn't!!

I was a little surprised to see that Moulson was one of the "local warriors." He grew up in MIssissauga and played college at Cornell.
I'm sure that went into Darcy's thinking. He may want to stick around and play with a sh&tty team for 5 years. And since he's fairly local, maybe his relatives will buy tickets. They should have great seats to choose from!!

watching the rangers feed tonight. seeing patty lafontaine on their broadcast brings back great memories. there was no more exciting team than that one in the mid 90's. it was a gutsy trade that brought him here during a time when we had a terrible team. i just can't understand why regier cannot get his head out of his ass and do something. it's not gonna take just one guy, but at least try to create an exciting team. ownership & management of this team is just gutless
