    Rest easy SabresBillsFan - there is zero indication that anybody has demanded or offered a top 6 spot.  That is just something that some people here made up a while back.  I'm sure that if he signs he'll have to compete for a spot just like everyone else.

     

    Heck, dont understand why a top 6 spot is key, look what Vanek got as a RFA by playing on the 3rd line.

    That's nice. So what's stopping them from just plugging the video feed into SabresTV?  They did it last year.  Are you saying that the Sabres think no one cares about watching Eichel play outside of the FNC?

    Maybe the one guy in all of SabreLand who can accomplish this is out on vacation this week. :wallbash:

    What if they live somewhere with no sand?  Will no one think of the prairie fans?  Will no one rise and support the Sabres fans in the tundra?  This is our moment, brothers and sisters, to cast off the mantle of oppression and demand that the Sabres #showthescrimmage

    If they drafted Connor McDavid, would we be in this conundrum?

    The first game from our start prospect in a Sabres uni is unimportant? Turn in your fan card, sir.

    I am even tempted to state that I am confident that I could fill out a whole team out of players on both squads tonight that would have beaten the squad we fielded on the ice every night last season that was actively shown on tv...including a few national spots.

    Maybe next week we will see, "Richardson Seen as Young, Backdoor Candidate for Sabres Brass"

     

    Yeah I loved the headlines....I think this is all run-off from the Brady's infatuation with deflated balls..

    So we bring Babcock into Buffalo on AirPegs for an afternoon and Mclellan gets a phone call?

    I do believe Mclellan is currently overseas coaching Team Canada.

     

    So I guess AirPegs can only be used for domestic flights. :-P

    I won't believe it until I see direct quote from one of the participants that is published.

     

    Now if Custance said, McLellan answered the phone call, "Hello"......well, then that's gold.

The Sabres are interested in Team Canada coach Todd McLellan, formerly of San Jose, and Murray is believed to have already had a phone conversation with him from Prague. McLellan, however, appears to be on the fast track to joining McDavid in Edmonton.     Mogilny played wing, so yes wings do play better when they have a HOF center.  so they 16/89 thing really doesn't fit this scenario. 

     

    Girgo is a center, and they are generally supposed to make the players around them better.  That's why you hear why it's so important to be strong up the middle of the ice. 

     

    I still believe it takes 2 to tango...I think a HOF center is only good without an equally good/great winger.

     

    Hopefully Grigo gets a chance with quality Wingers, unlike the Contract Year wanna be's like Stafford...

     

    Only then will we truely know if he can be good.

     

    Heck, Derek Roy looked like a superstar when he had Vanek on his wing....and also on the 3rd line when there were better talent on the first two lines.

    that's a cop out, if you're that good you make your own chances. Or you really aren't a top center.  

    I disagree...

    Would Mogilny have scored 76 goals that season if LaFontaine was not his center? He averaged a goal a game that season (77 games)

     

    Or would he stayed closer to his season average of 20-30 goals?

     

    A good player can only do so much on their own, but if you surround them with equally good players they can become great.

     

    If Grigorenko is making plays and setting up players for goals, then those players start drawing attention away from him which will allow him to get into the shooting lanes.

     

    I just feel it was a maturity issue at the beginning of his career and then he got lumped into the dog house.

     

    Will be great to see how he performs with a new head coach that will allow him an equal opertunity with another good player or two on his line, instead of trying to work up out of the dog house.

    Sweet..I really hope the Caps hire him. It will be great to see what he can do with no Budgetary constrai...... :doh:

    One positive, in 2-3 years...the tickets might be cheaper here in DC so I can watch my beloved Sabres when they come to town.. :worthy:
