Looks like we found Jim Kelly.
Yeah, that was unexpected. This must be weird for him.

Biron is starting according to TSN.

I hope they are wrong.

Last rookie hat trick: Dec. 1, 1993 at Tampa Bay (Derek Plante).
The last bit of information took some figuring, but I think it's correct.
That's funny, because that's who I think of when I see Pominville.
-
5-1 right now. There wasn't much Miller could do, it was a 2-1.
-
Make that 3-0 on a Kotalik goal.
I'll be sorry to see Mathieu Garon leave, which I expect him to shortly.
-
I think its just in other NHL markets, but don't quote me on that one.

Currently, Miller is 5th in GAA and 4th in SV%. Pretty impressive stats for one's rookie season. If this wasn't the year of Ovechkin and Crosby, and Miller wasn't injured, wouldn't he be in the running for the Calder Trophy?
If he wasn't injured he would have been at least a finalist. If he keeps playing this well and gets to 40-50 games, he might still be a finalist.
However, it will probably be Crosby, Ovechkin, and Phaneuf

I know he had his problem legally this past year, but Tallinder is clearly much better than Fitzpatrick. Should we be fortunate enought to get a top 4 D, I could see Tallinder and Campbell fighting for a spot.
I think Tallinder is quickly and quietly becoming that top 4 D-man we were previously missing.
I don't see a need to displace any of the current 6 (now that Kalinin is back) unless it is for one of the top 20 D-men in the league.

Is it just me or does it seem like Miller is 10 times as good as Biron on breakaways?
And every other facet of goaltending.

Thank god Rory's reign of terror is almost over.
Did the game sell out?
-
This officiating is absolute crap.

Another note:
This felt like those great playoff series against the Flyers, except we won this game.
These two teams could very well meet many more times this season.
-
From the ESPN recap:
I tried to find the part where they said "The Sabres are missing several key players because of injuries, including two-thirds of their top line (Danny Briere and JP Dumont) and defenseman Dmitri Kalinin," but I couldn't find it anywhere.
Typical.
So true.
If the Flyers or Rangers were doing what the Sabres are, ESPN would be on them like DeLuca on Ted Nolan.

The stats seem to say Miller is having a great game... is this true?

Grier has 9 points and is a -9. All this for $1.3 million?
Last night he was horrible and was benched.
He has a good shift here and there. But those are too few and too far between. I couldn't find a complete stat sheet for the year. But I would guess he has more turnovers then hits this season.
Grier is big, slow and not very effective. Most of the rallies the Pens could muster happened with Grier on the ice. WHich is why he was benched.
As far as the other two?
Fitzpatrick should be in the ROC. He is weak along the boards and makes poor decisions. Like shhoting the puck into the defenders legs instead of dumping into the corner with less then two minutes to play. This resulted in a Pens rush and the Sabres had trouble clearing after that.
Peters. Compeltely useless.
Grier was injured Friday night and played hurt the rest of the game. He was still injured Saturday and obviously couldn't play through it. He wasn't benched.
Fitzpatrick is trash (PUT JILLSON OR JANIK IN) and Peters blows, but Grier is an important grinder that will be a huge asset in the playoffs.

Dumb Maxim takes a stupid lazy penalty.
-
sorry... still delerious from the undercard game.
penalty on the wild then afinogenov was given a "dive"... bad bad call
They called the dive too early, it should have been called against Gaborik.
-
crap... 2-1 wild... rolston scored on a deflection from a centering pass. that goal was on the defense, not biron.
Uh, no. Biron didn't have his stick on the ice. He should have stopped it.
-
Sabres are playing down to the Wild's level right now.

Comcast Cable feed kicked in at 7:07

this game reminds me way to much of the bills game. up 3 scores at the end of the 1st period and i am all excited about an easy win. hopefully this wont end the same way the other game did...
You may not be allowed to post here if this continues this way.

I'm starting to fall in love with this team.
Unlike those other losers in town
-
I feel bad for the crowd.
Seems like some people came out for the game. Tough night.
Yeah, not many blue seats for you to talk to tonight.
Too bad the Sabres decided not to show up for the biggest non-Leafs crowd of the season.
