Agree that all the lost seasons get numbing.

I watched Eichel win last year, and it was in the same year that we finally progressed as a team and played relevant hockey into the last week.  I focused on our team getting better, not Eichel.  The trade helped both teams.   The Eichel chapter is over, I think if you turn that page you will feel better about things.

Agree, that this is not the Sabres I grew up with.  They are long gone.  So is The Aud, Ted and RJ, my 1970 Pontiac, my cassette player, my long wavy hair, ...

Ohh It's not about not turning the page from Eichel, I'm just saying that it is a symptom of the disease that has infested the Sabres, that's all.

You forgot the Sabres making the playoffs on your being long gone list! If this keeps up, there will be high schoolers who will never have seen the Sabres in the playoffs, which has never happened for the fan of ANY NHL team, much less Sabres fans.

You do know … that Eichel asked to be traded. After his 10mil per contract was signed and BEFORE his injury and alleged “bad treatment” of him. Right?

When a poo sandwich is made, I don't care what the order it was made in in FOUR YEARS of creating that poo sandwich... it still looks like a poo sandwich and tastes like a poo sandwich. Ohh, I'm sorry, ALLEGED poo sandwich 🙄

The bar is really really low here. I get attacked for too much negativity often, and that's fine, but it's usually by people who have accepted this crap for too long.

It's pretty low on the ice as well. Benchings for poor play are pretty rare. Accountability is low. Accepting losing comes quickly and easily. There's always been too much individuality and not enough team in this era. Like it or not, it's the hallmark of the Pegula era and it's NOT the Sabres I grew up with.

It's funny, but I have posted on TBD for so long but rarely do here, maybe because seeing the Sabres lose for so long has been too numbing. I simply don't understand how ANYONE could not be very negative at this point, because season after season the effort and management comes into question a lot. How bad could it be? Jack Eichel gets so pissed off at the Sabres over their treatment of him LITERALLY that he wants out, and what does he do? Win the Stanley Cup.

How can anyone not watch Eichel and not see how terrible we are now? It is DEFINITELY not the Sabres I grew up with... and the game has changed yeah, but not THAT MUCH... passion, effort and quality management STILL MATTER.

Get used to it around here, the Hyper Positive Pete's are happily ready to lecture you and gaslight you when you are not happy with their performance. This franchise has been lousy for most of its existence and is on a record run of futility and many of us older guys have endured this a lot longer than others.

I've been enduring it since the Hawerchuk/May/Patty L/Fuhr days, so if you have for even longer I salute you.

My father and I went to the Sabres/Canes game and it was one of the very few sporting events I got to go to with my Dad in 1998 before he died.

Since then, the Sabres had a couple of really exciting runs until the wheels fell off... I was shocked to see complacency here as if what the Sabres are now doing from season to season is acceptable. Thank you!

This has nothing to do with hockey... grow up. The last great memory I have of my father before he died was going to a Sabres game... you don't know me or what I am feeling.

You ain't kidding.  The Sabres should come out every game and play with their hair on fire.  They should be more desperate than any team they play.  Instead they look like a preseason scrimmage, gliding around doing nothing.  The Rangers blocked a lot of shots?  Yes, that's because the Rangers were trying harder than Buffalo.. which should never have happened.

I like Granato but if they have another losing home record, he should be fired.

I am deeply wounded by the way this team has been mismanaged for so many years... all the joy I once felt has been stripped away. I'm just tired of hearing the same things over and over again as the Sabres bottom out like a terrible roller coaster to nowhere.

    Welcome !!

Have you been a Sabre fan for a long time?

This is often how they start out.

    The Sabres will be fine.

    Enjoy the season.

Who owns the NHL record of 12 seasons in a row without a playoff appearance (by FIVE seasons), and 16 consecutive seasons without a playoff series win?

They will NOT be fine. This is not normal AT ALL. Every season I hope they will turn it around, and every season they do virtually the same thing.

Maybe its time they do something for themselves for a change.  Taking this time to properly assess their situation and then take an ACTIVE role in changing it for themselves like enrolling in colleges using government grants to get a degree that will pay them something more than part time minimum wage would be a good start...

Is it really humanity, or is it like giving out participation trophies to avoid having the real, hard, truthful conversations nobody wants to have?

When employers start paying a living wage and cut the deep gap in cost of living vs. wages, THEN maybe you have a point.

Until then, all of this is hogwash... employers have been taking advantage of low wages in this country for years. Time to pay up for those who made their money off of this fact.

  9. Again , Party L hired him.

    Again.

    Who traded Ryan Miller?

That's right... the S*** GM that will be fired.

PATTY L was AGAINST the trade....

You deserve this team with the S*** GM if you are seriously defending him. Meanwhile, my boycott continues as the S*** GM continues to run the team into the ground.

  10. Previous worst season: 1971/72 (16-43-19; 51 pts)

What did the Sabres do in 1972/73? 10 games over .500.

    Why?

They canned almost all of their defenders and instantly became a winner... virtually the same offense.

    However...

Today, our defenders AND our forwards are not doing well. That is very, very scary going forward, and I don't know what the answer is.

  11. The leadership-less AIR FORCE... who doesn't seem to understand that they are in the Department of DEFENSE. Why don't they just merge them back with the Army and toughen them up??? I mean really... cherry on top was that Air Force General who overturned a jury conviction on his OWN of a buddy of his who sexually assaulted a woman.

  12. found out yesterday why I did not get this job back in January and the reason is a lot of insider bs and I also found out that the person they hired barely does their job and several people have now indicated they wished they had hired me... well you ###### me over so you could hire whomever this 1 person wanted and she hired the person her friend really liked so now your stuck with them... have fun. FREAKING PISSED

    You'll love this one!

My gf worked for a Finance Manager that had been at her non-profit for almost 20 years as her second. The Finance Manager decided to leave, and instead of promoting my gf to her position, they hired some bozo who spent a lot more time texting and buying useless things with company money and a lot less time doing her freaking job. Since she took over, there was a larger deficit and the books gradually became a mess, and naturally she tried to blame my gf.

In the end, my gf filed for FMLA and was fired after she decided not to come back instead of being blamed for a mess that wasn't hers. Collecting unemployment that the company pays for and letting the worthless new Finance Manager rightly burn is fitting revenge for piss-poor HR and management decisions. We expect the non-profit to collapse within a year because of their mismanagement.

Stuff like this happens all the time!!!!

  13. Thanks for the positive responses...! So much hate and war have been created by straying from the ideas of Christ and holding tightly onto religious law with a clenched fist... probably the reason why the Pharisees and Sadducees despised him so much! ;)

Politics and religion in this thread. It never ends well. Please stop.

Saw this after I posted.. you got it :)

  14. Carrie Underwood. Given her recent announcement over her support for "gay marriage" and said that her "Christian views" made her think this way, the only thing that crossed my head was this: Does she really know the Gospel? I have serious doubts that she does.

Jesus Christ did teach compassion, forgiveness, etc, and she is being more Christian-like than most 'Christian' people who actually know it, that's for sure. Bashing her isn't cool IMO/
