  1. Don't know a Fasching thing about the Gopher prospect, but I have seen Deslauriers here in Manchester. I like him, but he has been here a couple of years and not been called up. In fact, they have even played him at wing here in hopes of figuring out what his best postion is. Looks like he'll be an AHL lifer...

Didn't we see that movie before when it was called "Marc-Andre Gragnani"?

  2. Wow! I think he had a five-point night btw. And for those keeping score at home, that's five times as many points as Ovechkin and Crosby combined.

The only downside is his price just went up. :( No, not really. But it damn sure didn't go down. He was the best player, and the best playmaker, on the ice tonight. People will take notice.

  3. C'mon Danny, another goal. I wanna see a Sabre get the MVP.

Watch. They'll give it to Crosby for his scintillating no-point night. :)

How about that. Ryan uses a Pearl. I'm posting from one right now. :)

I vote Brodeur as the MVP. Without him, the West doesn't win.

  4. On VS the scoring summary shows Boucher assisting on one of the East goals. Jesus.

Briere: three points. Ovechkin: one - and that off a pass from Briere. Crosby: a big fat zero. And from the hype you would have thought OV and Sid were the entire East starting lineup.

  5. Well, after this I don't want to hear the idiots on XM Home Ice babbling about how Brodeur should be starting ahead of Ryan. Marty doesn't have the trap in front of him tonight.

Ovechkin finally gets the golden boys on the board. Still no goals from Crosby.

  6. These VS guys are horrible, they were blasting Buffalo and the score was still 0-0.

You should have heard the NJ announcers. I listened to their call on XM during the first period and all they could do was repeat over and over "the Devils have shown they can skate with the Sabres" and "the Devils have dictated the game to the Sabres" and "the Devils have really outplayed the Sabres tonight." Then once in awhile they'd mention that the score was 0-0.

I wish I could have heard their call when it was 3-0. Although I bet you at the end of the game they were claiming that "the Devils really won tonight even though they lost."

  7. Don't forget this is a team that trailed 3-0 with nine minutes left in the Boston barn... and won.

That said, if they keep playing like this, that won't happen. They looked slow and disoriented. I've been on some bad, bad Buffalo-Washington flights myself and I have to say I can't blame them if they're still feeling the effects of that ride on top of the game last night.

  8. I had to listen to the Philly call of the game on XM last night... their announcers were positively giddy after the Flyers went up 4-3. They said something about how the Sabres were "in an unfamiliar position, down by a goal with less than seven minutes to play." Uh? Weren't they down THREE goals with under nine to go a couple weeks ago?

Their announcers basically put this game in the bag when it got under five minutes. Then Danny scored to tie it and they started talking about what a moral victory it was to just have been able to skate with "the best team in the NHL" for 60 minutes. :D

  9. Well since everyone is apparently watching law and order, I will use this chance to rant...I am so sick of the "new" NHL officiating....the referees do everything they possibly can to stop physical play...hitting and fighting are part of hockey, and it really pisses me off when you see what happened to Peters...he barely touched somebody and they give him 2 for roughing, 2 for somethin else, and a 10 minute misconduct....FOR WHAT?? That is a complete disgrace. Anyone else agree?

So basically Campbell and Bettman and the NHL are encouraging just going and attacking someone....he only would have gotten a few more PIMs anyway, so why not? its better than getting all that just for talking

    I agree.

I also want to know why Boulton won't fight. What, does he think he's a hockey player now?

  10. Perfect way to win that game!

    Absolutely!

Both goalies were great, but to stop Heatley and Alfredsson to win the game, just wow.

Sabres skated well with the Sens virtually all game. Power play was lackluster, but they were understandably nervous about Ottawa's shorthanded firepower.

And Peters took their tough guy out of the game.

The only bad thing is Ottawa got a point... but I'll take the two!
